DNA 200, which one to get?

Sorry guys I'm sure I'm gonna beat a dead horse here (been gone for a while, bad stuff happened and started back on the stinky sticks) but I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a DNA 200 mod. Any recommendations? Thinking about the efusion mini but a little worried about battery life.

want good battery life in a dna device there are the wismex dna200 , the bigger 18650 box mod... build your own... or you can go the joytech chip route and pick up an rx200.

The king of battery life of all DNA200s is the Wismec Reuleaux DNA200 or the Wismec Reuleaux RX200 for 1/4 the price but uses Joyetech's board instead of the DNA200 board.

This is not the lightest or most pocket-friendly device but if battery life is your thing then this is it.

IMO the best choice for a DNA200 is a Vapor Shark :) The 3s 900mAH battery lasts about 25% longer than an 18650, it has Zip charging (charges in about 90 minutes) it's built with the proper gauges of wire. US based company just incase any thing goes wrong :)
If you have your heart set on an 18650 DNA200, look at the Hcigar VT133. Limited to 133 watts cause of the 2s configuration, still small enough to cary around. easy to swap out batteries :)

I'd go with the above, which is the Wismec Reuleaux, or ... you might want to opt for the Hcigar VT200, I'm loving them both.

Looked at the wisemec, that might be the one for me. Size isn't too much of an issue, I don't plan on carrying it too often. Will probably be a stay at home mod but I like to play with my builds and don't want to have to keep it plugged up all the time. Of course I say that now but I might end up carrying it anyway, my 75 Sig that I carry now kills my battery quickly with a dripper or my new bellus tank (a+ for this tank by the way) so batt life is an issue as it is. It would be nice to be pocketable though. Thanks for the replys!

Yea, they have great battery life. Ive got the RX200 and I pop fresh charged batteries in in the morning and dont have to worry about the rest of the day.. Im a chain vaper and hit that thing long and hard and the batteries last me the full day. I start my day around 10am and when I end it at 2-3am the batteries are just to the point of needing to be charged (voltage usually around 3.5-3.6 volts per battery)

I just posted these in another thread. Maybe they will give you an idea of the relative size of a few different DNA200 mods.

(L to R) Lavabox, Limited Edition Blood Red Lavabox, Reuleaux, VT200, DX200 (with the 2 x 18650 battery compartment)

(L to R) Lavabox, Limited Edition Blood Red Lavabox, Reuleaux, VT200, DX200 (with the 2 x 18650 battery compartment, it really adds some width over the 900mah Lipo)

imho, you have to figure out easy carry or long batter life?

easy carry? vapor shark, its the only one with 2a charging gives you a full battery in 45 minutes and its small and light as a feather(shirtpocket carry)
long battery life? wismec realoux- its the only one with 3 removable 18650s

I think their 90 minute is a touch on the conservative side. If you think about it, the battery pack is 9.99Wh. The charger charges at 5v and 2amps (10 watts). So the charger should be able to supply 10Wh in an hour. Now when charging it drops down to a trickle charge at the end so that would extend the time frame. Looking at the numbers you would get a substantial charge in 45 minutes (10 watts x .75 of an hour = 7.5Wh).

Edit: Wh = P (in watts) x t (in hours).
Watts = voltage x amps

Cheers,
Steve

I don't have a DNA 200 yet, but one I'd like to have is the Lost Vape EFusion.
http://www.vapordna.com/Lost-Vape-EFusion-DNA-200-200W-Box-Mod-p/lvefus.htm
I have the Lost Vape EPetite DNA 40 box from them (looks almost identical, just smaller), and they have great quality products.

Good Choice :) 1300mAH is plenty of battery life, I can get a whole day out of 1300mAH battery, with dual Ti coils @.1ish running 40 watts :)
How ever it is quite a bit bigger than say a VS @ 900mAH. Also limited to 1Amp charging :( only VS has 2 Amp charging capabilities, There DNA200's are custom made just for them :)

I don't, and I know i'll take some heat for this, BUT- I've had a few of the project subohm products before; and, you can usually find better build quality for the same amount of money in other products. I'm not saying its bad, I'm saying I would be very hesitant in the investment.

Thought about the vapor shark but the screen on the bottom kinda scared me. I'm afraid I would get it scratched up. Think I'm down to the wismec or the efusion mini, both seem to get good reviews. Thanks for all the help!

the screan is recessed so it never touches the surface of wherever it is sitting. I know it looks off, but my first shark was the dna30 which stayed lit forever, so vaping at night left the room with a blue glow. the screen on the bottom was welcoming, because when you set it down the glow stopped. lol
It kid of stuck as a vaporshark trademark. They also did it because when they first came out. they were the smallest dna mod you could buy. that little guy was TINY, I still have mine and use it from time to time with a single coil on a derringer.

Can the Vaporshark be had for anything less than $199.99? i searched and could only find it available at vaporshark.com for $199.99 + $20 for extra coating, i am not sure if that is for finish hardening or else and if it is worth it having this coating applied or not? + $35 standard shipping to Europe + $7.99 for a Shark Skin to protect the paint that has been reported to easily come off

That is $263 shipped and properly protected which is a massive price for a DNA200 mod, is there anyway to get it for a better deal that you guys know off? either from a retailer, with a coupon or whatever?

not that I am aware of. the coating is not necessary. I have in total 9 vaporshark devices in total- none of them have the coating.
The coating is just a vaporized silicone that they inject into the inside as a way to prevent liquid damage. Its similar to what Samsung did for the galaxy 's' series. There was a dustup over people not liking a seam across the top of the older models. The 2oo does not have the same seem down the side, just one in the back.
one mine is in a wud wrap rather than the sharkskin
temporary_zpsqspdnj90.jpg

the other is in a croc skin and in the middle is the whiteout dna.

Oh man, that is one steep price, thing is, out of all DNA 200 devices this is the one i like the most, looks neat and very professionally done, i happen to like compact devices with soft clean lines that can be rapidly charged via USB, and this one has it all, but $263 is the price for a medium range smart phone, i checked their warranty to see if it is generous enough to help me absorb that high asking price but turned out they only offer 120 days, anything especially super unique about this device to help one justify paying that much for it?

What is your experience with their customer service and warranty practices? and do they sell extended warranty or such?

Its the only one with a 2a rapid charger, unless you go to custom modder.
also, the board is covered by evolve's warranty and they will swap it out if necessary under their coverage.
Vaporshark is very reasonable on service charges for repairs after the warranty. One of my 30s had to go back because of something stupid I did, it was a 1 week turnaround for a new board and a 50$ total. they swapped the board and battery. now, how that would work for someone overseas, I don't know. I know singature tips in the eu was making a good yihi mod, and ive heard rumors of a dna device by them and someone told me erlkoenigin was doing one also. both of htose were rumors so take that for what the are worth.

I will email them about this situation before even thinking about shelling out that much on a mod, see how they handle EU warranty and shipment, also ask if they could reduce that price because i will most probably have to pay 25% VAT when the package enters the EU which will make the final price for it just crazy.

Ive got my eyes on a Axis Vapes M-17 DNA200 in their new hybrid wood/resin construction. The price is pretty steep (very steep actually), but they just look so sexy. My original thought was to just buy a DNA200 chipset and battery box and just build my own mod out of some nice exotic wood. Then I kinda realized that building something that could be a potential fire hazard at best if wired incorrect wasnt the best idea for someone with little to no electrical experience.

Anyways, anyone have any hands on time with an Axis M-17? Thoughts? Worth the heavy price tag?

They look nice but are a little too rich for my blood. If you are looking for a DNA200 Wood Mod check out the Che Custom Dark Tower mod. It's about $250. Here's a link showing most DNA200 mods available atm. I don't have the Che but it caught my eye as a sharp DNA200 wood mod.

I'm on the fence with lipo and 18650. If I did get a lipo it would be the 2250mah Mad Modder DNA200 box. He has all sorts of varieties to chose from, battery style and custom boxes.

Edit- also it comes with a lifetime warranty on the box. The chip has a one year. Reasonable for replacing after warranty. And he's in the USA.

I plan on getting my first DNA mod some time soon and I'm leaning towards the SMY. I like the idea that the latest version comes set up right out of the box and doesn't require me to fiddle with anything.

I think having Escribe is great. I like the fact I can add a curve for any TC wire I feel like using. I like to be able to set preheat to anything between 1-200 watts, it's duration, and punch. I also like to be able to customize the mod with custom screens. Lastly the device monitor is also handy. It's great to be able to actually see what's going on in TC when you take a puff.

I'm not so sure about getting the SMY. They really aren't known for making great mods. If you are looking for one that has all the settings in place, I believe the new Lost Vape Mini and VaporShark have this. Honestly it's not a big deal. There is a link to a thread in my signature that walks you through how to do things. Evolv's DNA200 Early Adopters Forum also has all the info on most of the mods. Lots of people here as well willing to lend a hand with any questions you might have.

Cheers,
Steve

Is the 2250 mah a 3s Lipo meaning it's 6750mah ?

Sent from my 710C using Tapatalk
That would be a question for the modder.
My guess would be that the 2250mah is the grand total so it's really a 750mah 3s Lopo pack

I've emailed him, message through Facebook, message through instagram. No replies in 4 days..... Most mods are 3s Lipo with 1500 mah making it 4500 mah....... So difficult to say his are 800 or 900 mah making it 2250...... But I can't order one without this detail on the Lipo power.......
