Not having a good night here. I sold an Innokin Cool Fire 1 to a dude in California, and for his and mine's benefit, I sent the package Priority 2-3 days AT MY EXPENSE, to protect me from getting fucked. Well, it didn't work. I got fucked anyway by Ebay and PayPal both. The sonofabitch claims he did not recieve the package, EVEN THOUGH the tracking shows every stop the package made from here to there, and was delivered on his doorstep on Monday at 4:39 p.m. That doesn't matter, acording to PayPal, they locked down all of my money in my account, and say I have to either refund him the money, or BUY HIM ANOTHER ITEM. WHAT THE FUCK??? Is there no justice anymore??? I have PROOF it was delivered to him, so what the hell is this shit??? I tell you what, I'll never sell another goddamn thing on Ebay, and I'll make sure anybody with ears hears about this bullshit.

Sorry for the rant guys, I just got the email telling me that PayPal siezed my fucking money until I make it right with this clown. Goddamn I'm furious. Fucking breaking shit, throwing a tantrum furious.

Sorry to hear it @Daniel, and I hope it works out for you. Send them the tracking info. Best practice is to spend a little more and ask for signature to be required. While someone can steal mail from a doorstep, and the receiver can say it was never received, that becomes impossible when they have to sign for the package. Good luck to you.

Find the local post office and talk to the post master and ask if the post office employee can send an email stating that the package was delivered. IF ebay and paypal still try to fuck you over after that, then you've got grounds to take them to court.

Daniel, that's a pretty scary story from a seller's perspective. It's the first time I've heard such a thing, but I'm sure it's happened quite a bit. Thanks for sharing and hopefully things work out for you in the end.

That is very fucked up that they would side with him instead of you when you have the proof the item was delivered.

Good news!! Ebay & PayPal decided to rule for me, once the fog cleared and they saw that I had the tracking number to prove it was delivered. My faith has been restored....for now. But I did still get very nasty email from the guy claiming I was out to steal from him, and he laid some cheap Karma will get you threat on me...lmao. I don't think I did anything wrong, and now that Ebay & PayPal said so too, he can take his comments and well.....you know...

Really glad it worked out, I mean I've never tried to steal or cheat anyone in a sale, cause I would not want it done to me.

Dude didn't have to be a dick. I was on the other end of this situation a few months ago. Ordered a Squape and it showed delivered but I never got it. I am pretty sure it got delivered to the wrong box because it was a substitute carrier that day. We live in the sticks and have rural delivery. Contacted the seller and had several back and forth communications. As far as I was concerned they did their part with the exception of not insuring. Dealt with the PO, Postmaster and even the postal inspector and they were no help. So I escalated it through ebay and they ended up refunding my money within 4 hours. I guess they realized after being a member for 16 years that I would not be escalating something unless it was legitimate. It was only $23 after all. Not like I was filing on an item that was $1k.

I really felt bad for you Daniel. Now I feel bad for the guy at the other end of the transaction. I guess we all need to remember Tyger Tygers advice for future reference.

people have helped themselves to my stuff too, rotten assbags. so i finally got a PO box that only i have a key to. it cost a few cents a day, but worth it if you never want to worry about things not ending up in your hands. :)

I have one even better about the PO. I previously had ALL of my packages held due to a shipment of PC parts being stolen when thy left a package in front of my garage several years ago. Well it got a little laxed and I didn't pay it any mind because they were only holding anything that didn't fit in the box. Well after the incident a few months ago I went back to all being held. Got a notice of a package pick-up and went to the PO they could not find it anywhere. The carrier told the Postmaster exactly what it looked like and where she left it. Nothing. Bad thing is it didn't have a tracking number and I have no idea what it was. It was a very small padded mailer. Nothing I ordered. But it could have been a gift or something. I am starting to hate the USPS as much as UPS and FedEx.

That's complete bullshit. I buy from ebay occasionally but will never sell due to this very reason.

I just bought an itaste mvp from there.

The trick with selling on ebay is you really have to go in expecting you wont have that money for 45 days. Ebay is like most other large financial institutions and speed is not in their vocabulary. All it takes is one douche or scammer and they can lock up your funds until that long process plays out. You actually got through it really fast compared to a few issues I have had in the past.

Once a ticket goes in against you the system auto locks those funds until they can review stuff. NEVER contact a buyer or seller for that matter outside of the ebay message system. You want all that stuff recorded so ebay can access any conversations you have with them. Its really hard to do but I dont use any money I get selling for 45 days just to make sure some prick doesn't come back to try to scam me.

Glad it worked out for ya.

Thanks for the kind assessments @Thunderball, @cigarbabe, and @kelli....... but I'm not so damned smart, just experienced. I used to sell antiques on eBay and you can't exactly send a replacement if something goes haywire!

Also..... @Daniel..... tell your buyer to go canvass his neighbors. Kid you not. USPS fucked me out of a XPV (I loved that thing) when they LOST a parcel I shipped to @VaporJoes and marked it delivered...... and he sent me a parcel once that they delivered two doors down! I literally went knocking on doors until some guy said "oh she got a parcel next door that wasn't hers"...... I went and she very sheepishly gave me my OPENED parcel (she claimed she opened it without reading because she was expecting something from the US as well..... then she looked inside and wondered what the hell that stuff was!) Good news is that it was all there, and she was a smoker that I got interested in vaping :D

I'm glad it worked out in your favor! It is possible that the $50 insurance was included on that package. You might want to tell the guy to take the tracking to his PO and talk to the postmaster. Or you might not, since he was such a dick.

Nice, I bought one too yesterday. :D

I've been on ebay since 2005, but only 50 transactions in that time and never have sold anything.
No real issues on there for me. Helps to thoroughly check things out before committing to a purchase too.

Everything worked out, Ebay & PayPal decided to rule in my favor, since I provided the proof of tracking, and that it was delivered. Obviously, since he lives in an apt. building, the mailman decided to just drop it at his door, and not leave him a pickup notice in his box, & someone apparently snatched the package during the day.

I told him to keep watching his neighbors, and sooner or later, he would see someone with his stolen Coolfire sticking out of their face. I fucking despise thieves, why can everyone get what they want the honest way, WORK for it? He didn't like Ebay's decision, and I felt bad for his loss, I really did, but I can't afford to keep re-buying and re-sending mods to everyone everytime they get stolen. And I DID seriously consider sending him one of my other nice mods in replacement....until he called me a thief, and a con artist, driven by the lust to steal money from unsuspecting people. Ok buddy, all bets are off.

And why would he even say that when you were able to provide proof that the package was indeed delivered. He should be talking shit about his neighbors, not you!! Glad everything worked out for you and I thank god that I have never had a single issue buying or selling on eBay. And I've done close to 300 transactions. I see everyone has made their suggestions for how to prevent this in the future so I'll throw one more out there for everyone. I always use UPS for all eBay stuff. Comes with $100 in insurance and you don't pay extra for a signature. Plus, if they say its delivered but failed to get a signature (its up to the discretion of the driver), they take on the responsibility for missing packages.

There is also the real possibility he very well got your package and simply wanted to try to get it for free. I have lived in a ton of apartments in several states and do not think I ever lived in one aside from ones with outside entrances that did not have a keyed mail box by the main front door and most of them are decent sized and will fit typical vape mail.

While I agree about the scam potential there, I can't about the mailbox.

I have that same panel-style box from the 1970's for this apt. building. It's out by the parking lot too for fun.

My box is about 4"x4"x10-12"...I haven't measured, but that's a guess.

Most letters and mailers won't even fit unless it's diagonally.

A flat-rate box or large padded envelope won't fit at all...so it's left by the door and risks being stolen by the local homeless folk or thugs or taken back with them to the office. Most of the time they don't even knock.

I once had a $200 H-atty that I won on a show that went missing for two months and presumed stolen. Come to find out they had "tried" to deliver it....never got a single notice until the final one was actually left IN the mailbox. It had been at the local sorting center the whole time.

wow! scary stuff, especially when your stuck with the worst insurance ever that forces me to mail order all the drugs I need to stay alive. I have been lucky mostly and after USPS lost my insulin they switched to signature only UPS. USPS has become a rolling comedy show.

Paypal can be quite effed up at times. They locked an account of mine because 'my transactions looked suspect' o_O

No complaints, no claims filed against me; nothing whatsoever. I've yet to get that account unlocked, and it has almost $500 in it still.
