Hmm. I was in north Texas when I used that open window last. I'm now in Austin. I wonder if that triggered something.

I've never seen any message regarding "blocked" - but I've never traveled around with the site open like that. Very interesting!

psstt still waiting hahhaha I just ordered Eclipse, Monsoon, and Aurora... and yes I ordered the Eclipse even knowing it might have a minty taste... because I like torturing myself that way *gigglesnorts*

I don't think you'll find Eclipse minty enough to torture you! It's a really mild hint-o-mint - pretty bold tobacco, though.

Mmmmmonsoon...is such good stuff! Best new FA flavor in a long time for sweet tooths like me.

Yesterday, I mixed a single flavor of both Eclipse and Aurora, both at 3%. Today, I vaped the Aurora in my Vector RDA with a dual coil SS 26g 9/8 wraps 3mm ID => 0.315 Ohm. I'm getting a floral and fruity flavor, I think a hint of grapefruit. The floral flavor, I'm thinking, it might be Lavender, and/or Jasmine. However, I don't have either flavors. Therefore, I can describe it as floral only. Overall, I like it. I see myself using it as an ingredient for a tobacco flavored e-liquid.

Happy Mix Day! Started the year by replenishing my stash with some of my HIC favorites - Old Fashioned Doughnut, Cranberry Jam Muffin, Black Pepper Ice Cream, Berry Cobbler and Mendis Coconut Brandy. I love Irish Cream so I did Holy Frappe and Irish Malt Ice Cream to try as alternates to my regular Irish Cream Milk Shake. As usual, I had trouble choosing what to mix. I also did a few simple mixes to round out the options. Phew. I may be mixing again before the weekend ends, I want something like Country Fair Apple Pie, Pear Apple Frangipane, Thai Mango Sticky Rice or Baklava in my stock too. Then there's Kaktus variations... o_O Yup, flavor junkie who likes to change it up...:)

I have a HUGE sweet tooth so looking forward to that. Oddly enough I like Andes mints and such just not menthol LOL and on that ... well it was a cig thing that I hated so we'll see how it goes :) Thanks so much btw! I swear you save my taste-buds on a daily basis. I go over and over and over your notes while mixing

Eclipse: If you have the flavors, mix 1.5% or 2% each of FA Tuscan Reserve and Cocoa, add 0.5% of either Spearmint or Anise (or 0.25% each). If you like the general flavor and want a version less prone to scorching, put Eclipse on your shopping list. Eclipse settles into layers before your very eyes, so be sure to shake the heck out of it before (or as!) you measure it out. When I tried Eclipse 3-5% I was immediately reminded of http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hics-toscanello-fondente-cigar.17785/ , but it also has a little minty-sweet something added (not plain menthol IMO).

p.s. This was the inspiration for me, and who knows, maybe for FA as well: https://www.italiansmokes.com/products/Toscanello-Fondente.html
(Since it mentions "licorice", maybe Anise is more appropriate than Spearmint.)

Don't have Tuscan.... *sniffling* I have Soho and ordered Glory...

How does pineapple-papaya sound? Those two FA flavors are excellent together, and I think they'd make a fine sub for Mango in that recipe. Actually, probably in any recipe with mango - expect it to taste sweeter than mango, though. They're all strong flavors, so no adjustment to the total percentage should be needed.

Question, I mixed up HIC's Bora Bora White. Gonna let it steep as suggested. It was suggested to mix up a batch of steeped Bora Bora White & add the additions to a small amount. So for example, if I put it in a 10ml bottle, then to that add the .5% of the suggested flavors? Is that right? Thanks!

Yes, that's how I did it! When I realized every variation I liked required just a simple addition to the basic recipe, I make a honkin' huge batch of the basic recipe to keep (steeped and ready to vape) on hand. Sometimes I vape some of that. Other times I fill a smaller bottle to make one of those variations. It gave me lots of variety with minimal effort, just a really simple method.

Thanks for the clarification!
Ooooh I just tried HIC's Pink Sunrise Mojito, made this afternoon. It's sooooo goooood! I definitely taste the "Mojito" it's a bit more complex, HIC's much more descriptive than I can be. It's definitely a must try! Yay! Another winner! Thanks HIC!

Hey HIC :) some other vaper friends raved about your oatmeal cookies and I'm dying to try it. Is there a way I could get an email or something when it will be back in stock? I've been trying a long time to get some.

Thanks for all the work you put in to help us :)

Hey HIC,
The option to pay with PayPal has vanished from your site.

I see that, too - all Gumroad stores are currently missing the option. Technology...making our lives easier. I'm investigating and will update here when I get info, but if it's not quickly restored, I'll PM you here with a back-door alternative.

You mean Oatmeal Creme Pie from Mamaj's? Let me see if I can find out how their move is coming along, and update here. I hope @wllmc and company are liking their new location and back in the swing soon!

Gumroad's PayPal option is expected to be restored "by Monday."
Meanwhile, if you cannot use a credit card instead, and you don't want to wait, just PM me here or email me, and we'll work around it. ;)

Hi hic,

Any recommendations making the haribo (german gummi bears) recipe more "candy" like or a revision is comming, made already 2 batches and barely gave each one 1-2 days steep time.

Its a bit to fruity and cant quite get my candy craving out of it, some notes are just to sharp in it compared of taking a handful of a fresh bag of haribos :)

Hi all, I have returned from the black hole! I was catching up on the thread and read the description of Monsoon that HIC wrote and ordered 120 ml! I am really getting paranoid about the legislation and banning of decent juice! Anyway, I wanted to show the cool container of Monsoon I got from ECig Express. It is directly from FlavourArt in Italy! I hope you all had a great holiday season!

New today at HIC's Mixes : Cantaloupe Crush

p Cantaloupe Crush.jpg

"Inspired by an all-fruit breakfast smoothie, ripe melon sweetens a juicy trio of peach-orange-pineapple. Sweet cantaloupe remains prominent as the supporting flavors come and go in changing combinations. Though this was designed as a wake-up vape, the intriguing flavor changes will keep many fruit fans captivated all day. This recipe requires only FlavourArt fruit flavorings, including White Peach."

"Beginning with a simple 2-flavor recipe, you learn how to improve it, then how to make it a really unique treat: coconut rum creamsicles sweetened with pineapple, dipped in tangerine-orange sherbet. These recipes require only FlavourArt flavorings."
Went with the second variation of the Creamsicle recipe with the Mandarin, Custard and Vienna Cream. Mandarin comes out strong right after shaking but give it some time and it smooths out nicely. Awesome yet simple mix at 80/20 VG/PG and 0 mg nic.

HIC, i bought 2 of your recipes, quickberry pink and banana pudding and they are excellent! I have a question, I tried to add 2% distilled water to the recipes with max vg, originally i have made them 70 vg/30 pg and they are wonderful, but with distilled water max vg flavor tastes muted/ deluted. What percentage would you recommend to up the flavor so it tastes just as good as 70/30?

If 70/30 tastes great, why change your base? Do you just need it thicker for dripping, or...?

I am trying to avoid pg and make the vg a little thinner with water so to avoid dry hits in the rda tank. I have noticed when i add the distilled water it minimized my problem with my nose constantly dripping when vaping. I heard from someone who vapes, that dripping nose is a sign of dehydration. Am not sure if its from dehydration or cause of max vg but the nose dripping has been way less. But now flavor is deluted/muted as i said.

Now I remember you asked about that somewhere else. When I went from mostly-PG to max-VG I didn't need to adjust flavoring at all, so I can't offer an informed rule of thumb for adjusting recipes for different PG/VG ratios. Anyone else?

I mix for a friend with a pg allergy, have to do a 90/10 max vg for him, and I never use any more flavoring than usually posted in a recipe. The steep time might be a shade longer, but the flavor turns out the same as the 60/40s and 70/30s I make for myself. I've vaped the max vg mixes I've made for him to see what difference it made in the flavor, and there was virtually none.

I add 2% distilled water, maybe that's throwing it off.

HIC's Mixes

What is HIC's mixes?
This is my stash of unpublished DIY recipe files -- ones not available anywhere else. They are most of my recipes since early 2015. HIC's Mixes recipes are for personal, non-commercial use only.

What do I get when I buy a HIC's mixes recipe?
You immediately receive an automated email including a "download" button. Click the button to tell it where you want your file. The .pdf file includes the recipe and accompanying notes, such as recipe variations, flavor substitutions, explanation of flavor interactions, interesting background info, mixing tips, etc. You also get free updates any time the file changes (you can opt out any time). I monitor diketone information, new flavor releases, and availability of flavorings used in these recipes. Updates are sometimes related to that, or they may be extra notes, a new variation, or a reformulated recipe.

What flavors do I need?
HIC's Mixes recipes use mainly FlavourArt e-cig flavorings. The description tells you if any other brands are needed.

Why buy HIC's unpublished recipes?
Here are some reasons DIYers have given me:
You want better-than-vendor vapes -- with no diacetyl or substitutes.
You're new to DIY or FlavourArt and want tasty results quickly.
You need to save time/money/effort -- but you want gourmet vapes.
You're an experienced DIYer and want to learn new FlavourArt mixing tricks.
You've enjoyed my public recipes, and you want more.

Follow me on Gumroad to receive notification of new recipes. New recipes are added often!

Just considering DIY? Want to keep it very simple?
Select recipes are available as premixed flavorings here: http://mamajsflavorshop.com/specialty-shop/hics-mixes/ . Just add some drops to your unflavored nic base.

My notes on many FlavourArt flavors are available here: http://mamajsflavorshop.com/headinclouds-my-notes-on-flavor-descriptions/ or by download here: http://www.hicsmixes.com/notes-etc.html.
Hey HIC...Gumroad has once again stopped sending me notices when you post new recipes. This keeps happening. How can I fix that?
