I hear you! I'm having time issues, and problems having enough bottles for mixing all the recipes I'd like to try. And I just received an order of various sizes and numbers of bottles.
I have a ton of 15mL bottles which is what I use for all of my "1st Tastes".......but, I have to order larger bottles for my most favorites! Oh the troubles we have......lol

Looking at my collection of tests-in-progress, FA Brandy and Honey are two I don't often use that might pop up soon. I hope to have something more with TFA Cranberry, and maybe one with TFA Banana Nut Bread. I *think* everything else I'm currently working on uses flavors I've used in many other recipes. That TFA Meringue is sure good, too - I'll be testing it as sub in existing recipes and imagine I'll find it often works well where FA does not. Oh, and retrox is sure right, gotta have spices for holiday flavors, right? And Fig!

I put figgy pudding in a category with rhubarb, mincemeat, marmite ... stargazy pie (gag).I just can't enjoy those flavors.

HIC's Cranberry Jam Muffin:
I'll be honest, I had my doubts about this one. I'm not a huge fruit guy, and even if that were not the case, cranberry would probably be near the very bottom of the list of fruits I'd want to try vaping; and if I said I was hesitant before mixing, I was downright incredulous once I was done. The mix didn't smell appealing to me at all. It had sort of a zesty, sour, almost acrid odor about it that sent me to bed last night without even chancing so much as a couple of drops in my tester rig.
This morning found me again squeezing that little plastic bottle to see if anything had changed for the better, but again my nostrils were assaulted by that caustic aroma. Fingertip taste-test didn't fare much better, but at least it was a bit sweeter on my tongue than in my nose. Crestfallen, I grabbed my trusty OFBD (that's Hic's Old-Fashioned Doughnut with a splash of bilberry, in case someone hasn't heard me prattling on about it) and my daily RY4 driver and headed to work.
Back at home this evening, with no change in smell that I could detect, I decided to just go ahead and discover once and for all that I didn't like this one. I wanted to give it a fair shake at least, so I cleaned, coiled, and re-wicked one of my best flavor tanks; all the while knowing that I would likely be repeating the process in a couple of minutes. In fact, I was already staging a mental debate on what I was going to put into the tank after the Cranberry Jam Muffin met an untimely fate in the kitchen sink.
To make a story that's already too long a bit shorter: Never again will I trust my stupid nose for anything more important than holding my sunglasses up. The delicate muffin flavor in CJM is instantly familiar to anyone who's ever paid a visit to HIC's Bakery, so no surprises there. It's the interplay between the fig, cranberry, and citrus notes that make this recipe remarkable. The subtle shifts in flavor on exhale are apparent, but not so much as to detract from the overall profile of this fruity combo; and despite the insistence of my nose to the contrary, the tanginess of the cranberry is not overbearing in the slightest. I catch it mostly on the sides and tip of my tongue at the beginning of the exhale, and it's quickly washed over by the sweetness of the other components. The tart lingers pleasantly on the tongue, still bathed in sweet. There is a hint of bitterness that contributes an authentic note to the jam when exhaled through the nose that I mostly miss on mouth exhales. To get the full effect, I exhale through my mouth and nose at the same time. I'm quite sure I look like a complete goon when I do this, and I don't even care.
The vapor smells great, the recipe tastes great, but the juice still stinks. I'm gonna go ahead and call VOODOO on this one, folks.

I agree. That one continually morphed into something new and quite delicious. One day it was nice and fruity, the next I wanted to pour it on biscuits. I love how flavors interact! You always get a surprise! It's the Cracker Jack of vapes, LOL.

Reporting in, HIC's British Custard Cream is very, very good! I've been enjoying it as a all day vape!

"In season" - if it's something you like, it's in season any time! True if you DIY, anyway.
Please don't buy every flavoring I mention working with! I have hundreds, though FA's dominate my recipes. Often I'll play with a promising flavor/combo and just know something great will result -- only to find nothing's quite right. On the other hand, a couple flavorings I've tossed in the reject bin have turned out to be gems, so I never throw out flavorings (even horror shows like Bread Crust). If I mentioned every idea I set out to mix, you'd see how few eventually develop into a recipe, and how many of those will languish until I'm inspired to (or remember to) finish. I keep notes on my failures - enormous file! - and reviewing those sometimes inspires me. Many recipes sit waiting for a key flavor that doesn't exist yet (another long list). Since *I* never know what flavors/combos will/won't work right, I just can't answer your question with much confidence.

No, and I've never tried "Pop Deez", but I can tell you TFA Popcorn and Kettle Corn are both accurately named and likely starting points.
I took some TFA Kettle Corn mixed it with a few creams, FA Caramel, TFA Brown Sugar Extra, TFA Coconut Candy and FW Hazelnut. It turned out pretty good. Needs refining but it pretty much tastes like the Coconut Kettle Corn that Costco sells. Best part is you get a hint of saltiness or atleast my wife and I did.

"Juicy, brisk cranberries and apples in nutty pastry. The fruit is more tart than sweet, even if you mix max-VG. If you like popular brands of cranberry juice blends, this is for you. This recipe uses FlavourArt flavorings including Apple Pie, plus Cranberry by The Flavor Apprentice."

"Juicy, brisk cranberries and apples in nutty pastry. The fruit is more tart than sweet, even if you mix max-VG. If you like popular brands of cranberry juice blends, this is for you. This recipe uses FlavourArt flavorings including Apple Pie, plus Cranberry by The Flavor Apprentice."
So... I finally got around to mixing HIC's Southern Charm. A little background on myself might explain my joy! Although my buds no longer enjoy bacco blends, I continued to vape Halo's Southern Classic. That's the only baco blend I like. Or should I say, used to like. /lol
I was not very optimistic to tell you the truth. WOW!!!! Followed the recipe and all I did was lower orange (1%) and raise peach to (2%). Even after 4 hours in my UC it still wasn't their. Then it just sat for about another two days and BINGO! Home run. In a KFL+ using KGD, a single Kanthal Build around 1.3 and pushing about 13.5 watts with a 50/50 and 6MG mix..
The booze has faded and it's a delightful light and subtle peachy with just a hint of the booze. With a pleasant and barely detectable bacco backround. Smooth smooth smooth! Thanks a ton Professor. You hit this one out of the park.
I plan to try it in my Crown and see how it vapes with around 40 Watts and dual vertical coils. Should be an interesting comparison.

So I just delved into FA for the first time a few days ago. I've been mixing for about 3 years with TPA, Lorann, FW, and Capella. I figured I'd try to get some advice as FA seems very concentrated. I've tried several of HIC's recipes (and made several of my own) - they smell amazing and on finger drop taste test it's the same. However, I've tried them both in a .12 dual coil dripper and .6 tank (Herakles) and they seem really light in flavor.
I suppose it could be the VG percentage, but other manufacturers flavors I haven't really had the problem with. For instance, I tried quikberry pink at regular percentage and the suggested 50% increase for strong flavor. I mixed them both with no nicotine for testing so the end result is around 90%+ vg. I also tried a couple of my own mixes anywhere from 5% to 14% flavoring and had the same result. I've only tried making about 10 combinations so far but it is common between all of them. I know I don't have zombie tongue because I'm able to taste other juices I've made with TPA/CAP. Any ideas or am I just crazy?
