The same thing that creates the feeling when you drive up to a party with a Corvette and you realize that everyone at the party is driving a Ferrari or a Lambo.. the feeling of buying something more expensive to oust those that cannot afford it.. Its the humanity in all of us gone bad by one thing the allure of Money and power
See, I thought the same thing. Yes I did.
But, that's why I made several comparisons to product in the same price class. Then there's the stupid comparison to Rolex.
A watch from a company with over a century of building a reputation for fine craftsmanship and time pieces using real diamonds and hand crafted gold and silver. Is being used as the basis of comparison for a company making ecigs for a decade and are now using plastic -then when the device falls is stops working
I just don't see the parallel their. Especially not when looking at some of the other things on that price range.
I'm sure something like the muse or maybe caravella. You know artwork.
Or is it creating the illusion for themselves? Is that what you're saying?

Its not like I have a prob putting out 190 for a MOD I just did ..hmm

Likewise, most of my mods are right at 200$. Sxm, vaporshark, hexohm(USA),stingray xti(287). Not like I'm comparing 50$ and under mods with the same functionality, I'm comparing the higher end.
There's also bmi mods, and several other smaller 200$+ USA made mods.
The litt44?, we can think of several others, but its this one brand whose customer base has the aggression for some unknown reason. They appear to at least.

I compare ProVape and their fans to the most enthusiastic BMW fans. They get the same way over things. Are BMW nice cars? Absolutely! Don't have one, so I can't point out any faults, but I can guarantee they have faults...like any product out there, nothing is perfect.
I just have a hard time understanding how saying something like "The BMW I test drove was great.handled well, very smooth ride, quiet, all the power I need...perfect in every way, except I wish the seat sat back a hair further because I have long legs" in any way justifies being labelled as a "hater" or a "troll"...even if it is in a BMWsponsored thread-- after all, wouldn't you think that BMW engineers would want to know that they are alienating themselves from all of the NBA buying their cars? Now substitute ProVape for BMW, and the descriptions be about the Radius ("It's perfect in every way, except I wish I could use the up and down buttons in the menu") and you are labelled as a hater-troll. It makes no sense, and quite frankly, looks negatively upon the company.

Funny thing is, people who owned the first YiHi SX Mini loved them, but hated the menu, and how you couldn't use the buttons to navigate it, only the gravity sensor. These folks were not called names, their personal info was not made public, and nobody committed a felony cyber-stalking them, no they didn't..what did happen was that YiHi incorporated the button functionality into the next firmware release, yes they did!

I remember trying that first 'S' class at the shop when we were both considering it, after trying to land a plane on an aircraft carrier to drop down 5 watts, I just looked at the shop owner and told home there was no way. But, like you said, Yihi, listened to the market and sold a whole bunch of those things at 200$. I always like to see companies listen to the customers.

I think a lot of it started a few years back when Provape was at the top. I would read threads where people with other devices would ask for advice about it because maybe they didn't know how to use it or there was something wrong with it and a lot of provari owners would always reply "should have gotten a provari" over and over again. Not very helpful . Now there are many quality devices each with there own pros and cons and pricing. So now if you decide to buy a provari your stupid for spending that much money and for some provari owners they take this personally and they feel the need to make the other feel stupid. I guess my point is , keep the back and forth funny or helpful. If someone feels the need to threaten or post personal info about another they need a break from forums and realise there is more to life. Despite what devices we collect or use , we are all nicotine addicts. Hello , my name is Kevin and I'm a nicoholic.

In another thread, I compared the Provari to Harley-Davidson. With the bikes, when a fan is presented with facts the answer is often, "If you have to ask, you'll never understand".

I own a P3 and like it. It has its place and does exactly what it's designed for. Back in the days when I actually had money, I bought a Rolex. Same impression there.

The Provari is a high quality item that delivers precision power. That said, I'm not convinced that 99.9% accuracy is necessary to produce a great, consistent vape. My go to choice these days is still the SX Mini. I have a couple of DNA200s and they are fine but took a fair amount of time to get configured to my satisfaction.

Those that think any product is the ultimate are doomed to disappointment or are kidding themselves to justify their purchase.

And in keeping with replying to this topic, I honestly think Pro Vape overeached with the Radius. Plastic body and no TC (even if it's not to their standard of perfection) takes it off my list.

USB charging and issues associated with it have taken Radius off my list...

I did honestly consider the mod as I stated before, the fans took it off my list, for reasons mentioned. I'm glad too, I'm seeing tales of cats killing the mod,by just knocking it off tables. Granted, prorape is replacing them, but for a company who stood behind it's people bashing every other device, and proclaiming 1/2 of 1% failure rate, I would expect it to be able to handle a little pussycat.
I'm with you though, I've been feeling a case of the flu coming on and vaping my p3 with kf4 lately and saving the dna200 and sxmini for when I'm feeling better. Getting the DNA configured was time consuming but I had a little fun with it.
Harley also has a culture that it represents. I don't have a bike, but understand it's cultural representation. Prorape really doesn't have that, at least not yet, I very well could be wrong there, but, I see them as being too young to have developed that sort of respect. In that light, I think blackberry fits more.
They were Top of the food chain for tech and quality, then watched itself go stale and not keep up. (no one can take away from them what they once were).

You talk about how tough a Provari is well I had a cheap lava tube, ryder, Apollo what ever they called it at the time

I had that mod. It was purty good. Except the atty connector threads stripped on it pretty quickly.

Similarly, the Sigelei Zmax (v3 or v5) was a pretty nice mod as well. For the price was one of my favs and thought it gave Provari a run for the money for many vapers who are still using them.

Soooo a ProVari, made in America, Built with boards made in America stuffed with Chinese made components. Assembled using machinery of unknown Origin, using control boards loaded with Chinese components.
Shipping with Chinese made batteries. Sold by a company running Chinese made computers built wth Chinese made components, networked using Chinese made devices sold to people via Chinese made computers, phones or tablets. Shipped via USPS, being weighed, scanned and package logistics control using Chinese made computers.

That's sort of a good point. ;)

China factory can make anything to spec. If the specs are high grade, so will the end product be.

(Unfortunately, SOME go to china for cheap manufacturing, and no, they are not submitting high level specs.) But the china factory can make anything just as good as a US factory. They are just industrial plants after all. It's not rocket science.

I often tell people that w/out china made goods, most people's houses would be.......empty.

I needed 500 silk scarves to paint......china perfect for this kind of order. Or, glass bottles for DIY, etc.

The only thing that was hated on was the attitude the average prorape fan shows to others and the hatred shown to people not happy about the proplastic specs.
Last I checked saying ' I wish it had.....' was not hatred.

I think the word "plastic" needs to be upgraded........the plastics of today are not the plastics of yesterday that imply cheap or unstrong. Ask any aerospace engineer.

I don't even own a provari, so I'm just being objective. I love high strength lightweight newer tech stuff, whether it be clothing, expedition gear to go to Everest, or vaping gear.

Add in the fact that every ProVari 2.5 I have owned and most I've seen had the board come loose and cause problems.
I had a 2.5 I used for about a year and a half and never had that problem. My wife used hers for over 2 years and she's pretty rough on her stuff and she never had that issue. In fact, I picked up a blemished unit because I had the points so I got it dirt cheap as a backup, and it is still sitting brand new in the box.

The trouble (for me) with ProVape is that they don't have enough power for the way I vape anymore. I don't really care that they don't have TC but I suppose that is an issue for some folks who can't figure out how to prevent burnt hits on their own. I can't speak for the Radius as I don't and won't own one, but as for the 2.5 if you had that many issues you are brutally tough on a mod. I'm an OTR trucker and mine held up great, other than most of the coating being worn off the bottom of the extension cap from rattling around in the cup holder while I drove.

Anyone wonder why ISIS are killers - just read this thread from A 2 Z and see what bitching just a mod can create.
Shame on you all of you who bitch around - same if you love or hate provari

I happen to not agree and think that's pretty low for anyone, at all, to say. I've never understood why you take such pleasure in ruffling feathers, but if that's the only joy you get from life, it must hurt pretty bad to crack a smile. That makes me sad. The world could use more smiles.

Hey stevegmu, why don't you just quit trolling here? I know you like to stir up hate against yourself, it's getting really old.
I was replying to a post concerning ISIS. I really believe many here would buy mods from them. I'm sure if they sold mods and were willing to pay for a banner, they would advertise here, as well. They prey on the ignorant...

So just when did you sign up and/ or purchase mods from them?

Did I just say that?!!!

Nope I just checked and I did not.

Evil Uncle got out for a moment and said what was on his mind.

Me, no? Have they registered as advertisers on VU yet? You guys have no problem supporting the Chinese government. Not much difference...
