Ordered the Herakles, Received the Crown: Should I Keep it?

I ordered a black Herakles tank from ecig.com, but they shipped me a black Crown tank. On the receipt it says Herakles, black, tank, but it is a full Crown kit. I know this tank costs more, but I use the Herekles with Ni200 coils, and im trying to save money by only having a few different tanks that use the same coils. Anyway, does anyone have experience with this tank? Worth keeping? I haven't checked yet, but do they even make Ni200 or TI coils for this tank? What wattage are you using on these SS coils? Guess Ill have to upgrade my Evic VTC to use SS in TC mode...

Keep the Crown..You got a better tank then that of which you ordered. The crown is a very decent tank and produces one of the most intense flavor experiences of all the normal sub-ohm tanks. There is also a rba available for the crown. There are or will be NI200/TI/SS coils out for the Crown if they are not already.
Before you start, make sure you prime your coils! Drop some liquid into the coilhead and then put it in the tank and let it sit 10-15 minutes before using it!
Start at 20w and take a few pulls, adjust up by 5w and repeat until your satisfied.

Keep the Crown, it should have come with a .25 dual coil ss, a .50 dual coil ss and a .15 ni200 dual coil. Prime all very well, there are several threads about it here at the VU.

They make nickel coils for the crown...
I love my crown tanks but you do have to put a little effort into priming them... After you take the time 2-3 weeks (100+ ml) out of a coil is pretty common

Keep the Crown. Ecig.com sells the 4 pack of ni200 coils for $7 but they are out of stock. The TC coils are nice. They give a smooth flavorful Vape. They last pretty long as well. I'm on my first coil and it has to be going on 2 weeks. No burnt taste or loss of flavor.

I would keep it, like I was just telling Huckleberried the crown has the ability to but RBA in there and you can make your own coils and it rocks!!

I'm probably the only person on the planet who did not like the crown tank but that is because of personal preference. The crown is very well made and does what it's supposed to.

Guess Im going to keep it. Just the hassle factor alone of returning it makes it kind of a no brainer. I must say that the Herakles tank with the .2 Ni200 coils is BY FAR the best tank I have ever tried. Flavor and vapor production are just fantastic. I can go a month or more and still performs like the first day I put in a new coil. Ill give the Crown a fair shot. Might have to get a new device to use it on;). Thanks for all your responses.

i mean, for me I find the Arctic coils as my on the go vape. I know the crown premade coils can be vaped at very high wattages but I am not all that impressed with the way there coils vape, But he crown RBA on the other hand is making me happy.

I was able to use mine with the 0.5 ohm coil on a 30w iPV mini. I need to adjust my nic and VG, but it did work well and the flavor was phenomenal. I'm still looking into a higher powered mod, though, but not ridiculously high. I ordered the RBA for it, which should be here today.

I normally run my crown RBA on an ipv ll, ordered the 75w treebox for my other crown. Those rba's shine at around 28-30w.

I have not tried those tanks. I use Arctics (2), Subtank Nanos (2), Herakles for TC (2) and a couple Nauti Mini's. Like I mentioned, just trying to keep the number of different tanks to just a few brands due to the cost of replacement coils. I don't build, but I do take my other rba's to the B/M down the street, and have one of the kids there do a build for me. I have the Crown sitting on top of my VTC Mini filled and primed with the .25 Ni200 coil that came with it. Ill give you my opinion in a day or two...

Think Subtank Nano (0.5 Ohm) coilhead installed but imagine if you could crank it up to 45w without any dry hits...Thats what those tanks I mentioned are similar too and excel above that for a couple of them..I suggest grabbing a Goblin Mini or Cthulhu V2 because they are RTAs and you dont buy coilheads, you simply re-wick or rebuild them to your liking and they are amazing and cheap tanks.

I have one of those on it's way to me, too. Excited!

@ChrisL, I do wanna say that I've heard good things about the Herakles. I've been interested in one, myself, but I really do think you'll enjoy the Crown.
I love it so much....RDA Taste and can be like a RDA for airflow...I only wish the deck was just a tiny bit wider, but I can work with it!

I think the Crowns sweet spot in TC mode is above 30j or 45w depending on your mod.

I have been using this Crown with the .25 Ni200 coils for about 24 hours now. Went through about 3 tank fulls of juice, and I must say the vapor production is impressive. My juice did taste a little funny at first, but now tastes much better. Been running on my VTC Mini at 45 watts. So far, so good. Glad I kept it, just not thrilled Ill have to get ANOTHER set of premade coils. Might have to invest in the rba deck someday.

the .25 oh coil is NOT a ni200 it is stainless steel. its the .15 ohm coil that is nickel. you can vape the .25 ohm and the .5 ohm stainless steel coils on regular wattage mode

I have a Crown and I agree with everyone else, its an awesome tank especially for flavor. I do not have any experience with the Herakles but whether you use the Crown with the SS coil or Ni coil its a superior tank.

Quick question, l just put my Ni200 coil in my Crown and l was wondering if l have to run it in TC mode..? I'm running it on the istick 60, and to me this mod doesn't run as smooth in TC as it does in wattage mode..?

Yes. If you run it in wattage mode you will change the chemistry of the nickel wire and it can become poisonous.

Yes! You will have to play with the temp and wattage to figure out what you like. Start low, around 400 and 30 watts and work your way up or down.

NEVER VAPE NICKEL ON NORMAL WATT MODE!

Upgrade your firmware to V2.0. Besides having 75W, you have a TC mode for SS coils as well. IMO, VTC Mini and the Crown with it's SS coils are a match made in heaven. I don't like using Ni200 or Ti coils. Therefore, while I'm waiting for my DNA200 mods, this is my go to configuration (w/ spare batteries).

Never mind l see you where talking about the VTX mini.

The problem l have with the istick 60 in temp mode it won't deliver a smooth pull, it seems to chug a bit. It has some weird temp protection and l can feel it bounce in and out as take a hit...

I'm running at 60 watts with temp set at 500 and it does better. Still not as smooth as the .25 SS coil on this mod. Looks like l may need to upgrade the istick 60...

Update: I set the istick 60 to 60 watts and 550 degrees with the Ni coil. Now it delivers a smooth(no chug chug) warm vape like it should.

I think you will love the Crown tank and be glad they messed up your order...

The top fill of the Crown is a HUGE plus. I still think the flavor on the Herakles With Ni200 is my personal favorite, but I am glad I got the chance to own the Crown. I will purchase another Herakles since the price just keeps getting better. You can't lose with either tank.
