If you do tc you need to adjust the coefficient. https://vapingg33k.com/tcr-value-of-ni200-t1-and-ss-stainless-steel-wire/

I run a clapton in my subtank mini that is 26 awg nichrome core wrapped in 32 gauge kanthal wrapped at 2mm running 70 watt. My velocity is a fused clapton. 26 gauge nichrome core wrapped in 32 gauge kanthal at 2mm. All being 6-8 wraps. My current TC build is in my freakshow. That is double dual 28 gauge 430 stainless steel at 2mm. Run that guy at 400 degrees now and it is very nice. All those have been great builds. This mod runs them great.

So I decided to try to make a 38g N80 zipper coil, because I'm running out of RDA space and it will fit the post holes of my Patriot clone. The zipper came out nicely, but physics decided that a coil made at that size wasn't gonna happen. No matter how much tension I used, the coil just would not hold it's shape.

Stainless would probably hold shape better. Zippers vape okay - better than plain wire, but not as well as a fused Clapton.

Probably the thinnest clapton I have ever done. 28/36 - 9 wraps @ 2mm - .777 ohms. I'm trying to come up with good builds for a series mod.

If you used a torch while holding the coil tight on a bit they would of hardened in position, just a future tip bro.

How do you guys get your coils to color like that?
Its Nichrome 80 or 60, if you heat them up right and they have to be PERFECTLY CLEAN and they will color like that. Nickel and Titanium also color.
Heres a Tutorial on how you can achieve the "Colored" look

I suggest you try the last build I did for the TFV4, the Twisted and filed coil (Almost a zipper with different wire sizes involved). Its a warm vape (even just Single coil) at 41.5w and the vapor production is INSANE. The flavor intensity is off the charts, Ive never experienced anything like this on a RTA/Tank, its better then some of the fused claptons Ive had...TRY IT, I suggest using 5-6 wraps and use the pancake wicking method but lightly push the top half downwards.
I ordered the TF-R2 RBA and the Snow Wolf should arrive soon also, I cant wait to Dual coil this build!

Nichrome makes it easier, for sure. But the one's I just posted are all kanthal.

The colors are much more faint to the naked eye than they are to the camera under the right lighting. I take my pictures under those "natural" blue bulbs. Whatever lighting you use, it's all about that diffused/indirect lighting. Think "cloudy days."

When working out the shorts and positioning them, I do so at the darkest glow I can... ...just bright enough to see how they're firing. Minimal heat and short pulses. The coils will usually lose a little luster and darken slightly at this point. It's important to get the shorts out without pulsing very much. I personally find that raking tweezers across the coils is the fastest way.

Once they're nice and even, I let it rip with a really long pulse. I go until they start to turn white hot and then let them cool all the way back down. That's when the colors pop out. That is the deepest they will get. Any pulsing after that will begin to wash them out.

And as mentioned above, it does help to wrap with clean hands.

Haha, np. The way you describe is more in line with how most people do it.

Pretty much any type of wire will turn all sorts of colors if you get it really hot, really quickly. A little 150w blast or a kiss from a torch usually does the trick.

Well today I had a hankerin' to try out something Ive wanted to do for awhile after seeing the Stapled builds. I thought of something that is small in size and has the properties of a Fused Clapton and Framing. I used 4 x 26g for the core and Flattened 24g for the Framing. I Claptoned it afterwards with 32g. This is a very difficult build, only due to the core wires and the Flattened wire not wanting to hold together while being claptoned. I used my trick for Staple builds, 2 Dimes sandwiching the wire and tape them with electric tape. I slid the dimes down as I went but had to keep them almost an inch from where I was wrapping wire. I got almost 2.5ft of good wire and used a hammer to flatten the 32g.

*So if you didnt read the crap above, its a 4 x 26g Core/ Flattened 24g Frames/32g Staple Build (Slightly Flattened)

Next time you coil it up, use a torch to heat it up and set the coils. It'll eliminate that

I got my mephisto v2 yesterday it's a 3 post design but the holes are almost 3mm I was running out of rda's that had big enough holes for some of this wire and I barely trust myself with a drill to make wire let along trying to drill "custom" holes on a post. I have a clone of some 26650 rda 3 post design and the whole is the size of 28g wire that just doesn't even make sense

Grab a 1/16th Drill bit from Walmart and take it slow. It is very easy to do and you will have some 2.4-2.8mm holes (depending on how perfect you drill though). I drilled my Derringer, Nimbus and Patriot rda's a long time ago and then drill airflow holes for the caps, post holes are easy, not the caps since holes are already there...
Derringer Holes Widened and Airflow Opened to Match Cap:
20151113_182340.jpg 20151113_182111.jpg Nimbus Post Holes could only handle Single 26g before, fits Dual Parallel 24g. Airflow Holes were .5mm before, now are the same as the Tactical Warhead RDA
20151006_164950.jpg 20151006_165542.jpg

A list of RDA's with big holes that are decent (Off the top of my head):
Sapor
Twisted Messes and Mini version
13 Heavens 9 Hells and Mini version
El Cabron
INDESTRUCTIBLE ATTY RDA
Dark Horse
PhenotypeL
Lush
Doge V2/X2
Mutation X 2/3
Velocity
Noxus
Dinghy

First try at a stitched alien. 3x26K cores, 36N alien wrap, 40K stitching. 3mm ID, 0.19Ω
Screwed it up a bit when coiling (as you can see), and couldn't really get a clear shot for some reason.

Im only in the market now if they are a copy of the Twisted Messes deck...All other RDA's Ive own I destroyed with retard strength...Post spinning/Broken Center Post/Bend Posts/Melted Insulators....The list goes on. Now if it doesnt meet the same specs as TM/Lush or Velocity I wont even bother checking it out..

Just so you know if you go on Ebay and See Clones of the Compvape products the quality is EXACTLY the same, they are great clones for the money! (TM/TM Mini/El Cabron/13 Heavens and Mini Clones) They range from $15-$25 shipped and come in the exact fashion as the originals. I cant wait until they clone the Gold/Black TM rda...

I'm liking the multiple wire creations because for the longest time I was having the hardest time getting me ohms up high enough to fire. Part of it was my ohm reader must be on its way out because it reads completely wrong today I did three build 2 of which read out to .05 one @.04 and on the devices they where between .5 and .8 so I bought a new one last night I want the 521 tab but they're hard to find in stock

The difference I saw was in the deck, a couple people I know bought clones and the center post ended up spinning, the o-rings were too tight or too loose ect. Personally I like the quality of tobecco authentics better for similar prices. I was kind of hoping the mini was an authentic I never heard about, I've been wanting a mini rda for a while now.

The Twisted Messes RDA and Its Mini are more substantial in difference, like most of the Fullsize/Mini's (My GO-To RDA's) Wish I didnt loose my Delrin Fullsize Drip Tip :(
I like the heatsink top that comes with th Mini so I put it on the Fullsize TM also.

These are both my Clone TM rda's and they are better quality then any other RDA's Ive used, they havent broke, have taken any and all builds with ease and you could not get these posts to spin if you tried with pliers and a vise. Both of them were around $20 on ebay and if you would like Ill post the link to the sellers selling them.
Fullsize 1:1 TM RDA for $20 Shipped
TM/13 Heavens Hybrid Mini RDA for $23 Shipped
13 Heavens Fullsize 1:1 RDA for $20 Shipped
El Cabron Fullsize 1:1 RDA for $26 Shipped
