How do you drill a Hammond box without a vice or where to get 3d box?

Is there a way to safely drill a Hammond box for a 510 and switch without a vice? I cannot think of one, at least without ending up with a new hole in my hand.

I have also searched 3d printed boxes, which would be easier to drill, but I can only find completed mods or really expensive 3d boxes.

Any help is appreciated.

I am thinking the tin can route as I don't want to buy a vice just for this, although, I would like to have a vice.

I hope this post goes in this forum area.

I drilled mine no problem without a vise...
Use a small "pilot" bit (I think I used a 3/16) and then a "step" bit

I was thinking that but I wanted to make sure. I felt that aluminum should be pretty soft once you have a hole in it.

Thanks
