Ebay is now stopping everyone from selling E-cig mods and excessaries

I just received this from ebay where I was selling mods and tanks, And I just wanted everyone to know that they are taking sides of the FDA ruling that was shut down by congress of trying to control the ecig market. I closed my account with them and I hope everyone else will do the same to send a message to them.I explained that the FDA was shut down on their attempt to control the market on false information by congress and that because of their apparent liberal decision to follow through with it anyway they have made a 3 million consumer mistake. Write them and tell them why you are shutting down your account and take a stand before it goes any further. We need to stand together on this one.
The following listing has been removed:

181431343545 - Innokin VTR, Stainless Steel with case

We noticed that item(s) offered for sale on this account weren’t listed in accordance with our Tobacco Products policy. We realize you may not have been aware of this policy, or that this may have been a simple oversight, so we're including some policy information to help you with your future listings and to make sure they don't run into any problems. We also had to take the following actions:
- Listings that didn't follow eBay guidelines have been removed. A list of removed items is available further down in this email.
- We have credited any associated fees to your account.
Due to strict government regulations, eBay doesn't allow the sale of most tobacco products. This includes cigarettes, cigars, electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes), herbal cigarettes, and smokeless tobacco.

The following items are not considered collectibles, and they are not allowed to be listed or sold on eBay:
- Cigars in cellophane wrapping
- Collectible tobacco, including a listing that describes the tobacco instead of its collectible packaging
- Tobacco products packaged in classic packaging
- Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) or e-cigarette accessories

You may sell collectible packaging that contains tobacco if the package is unopened. Your listing must follow the guidelines below, and the guidelines must be included in the listing. Please refer to the policy page to find the guidelines and disclaimers you need to include in your listing.

If you include photos in your listing, you need to display the actual item for sale. Stock photos are not allowed.

For more information on this policy, go to:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/tobacco.html

You listed an electronic cigarette or an electronic cigarette accessory. While we appreciate that you have chosen to utilize our site, we must ask that you please not relist in this case. We attempted to call you to go over this information by phone but were unable to reach you.

Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with this information and be sure that future listings follow these guidelines. Keep in mind that if further items aren't listed in accordance with our policy, it could result in additional action including account restrictions or loss of buying and selling privileges on eBay.

Learn more about the reasons why listings are removed:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/questions/listing-ended.html

Thanks,

eBay

funny.. I am waiting on 10 different orders from ebay, one from fasttech, one from Russia, and one from Seattle..
I have no issues finding vaping gear on ebay.. if this was the case, i wouldnt be able to spend money there.

Like Joe says.. Watch how you word your sales items!!! common sense rules.. when you have it. :D

I think eBay is playing both sides. They've got their policy and they enforce it just enough to say they tried. At the same time they're collecting a ton of $$$ in fees.

I haven't had an issue selling old mods or RDAs on ebay and I have recently sold a few over the weekend in gadgets/other. I don't even mention they are ecigs I just describe the item and condition and thats it.

BTW if you look on ebay there are a crap ton of drippers and mech mods on ebay so not sure of OP is making this up or not.

You will know when ebay bans something for real because no auction of it on ebay will exist. I used to sell MMO gold/credits/accounts before they banned them on ebay. Trust me when they seriously ban something you will search for it and it wont exist. That is not currently the case with ecig stuff.

I recall seeing an ebay auction awhile back for brass knuckles that could double as a "tobacco" pipe. LOL It was listed as brass tobacco jewelry...

Let me tell you something about Ebay. They are a "for profit", public company with shareholders. They might have to do a dog and pony show once and awhile to look like they are trying to comply, but they don't care what you sell as long as the fee's are being collected. What they normally tend to crack down the hardest on are things that can jeopardize those fees. Products with crazy amounts of fraud claims..etc. There are plenty of things that lend themselves to conspiracy theory but this isn't one of them. Like a million people have said before, the sellers just need to be smart about how they are listing these things.

I got banned from ebay for absolutely no reason. One day I log in and it said my account was banned. I've never sold anything on ebay and only occasionally bought items. It didn't have a reason listed, nothing in my inbox or resolution center. I called ebay and spoke to 5 reps and a "supervisor" and none of them could tell me why I was banned all they would say was something like "after consideration we find it best for the security of our users to indefinitely suspend your account". They sounded like robots. I still have no idea why that account was banned. I had no bad marks, no unpaid items, never sold anything and had only ever bought 2 or 3 things. Not vaping related just thought id share my hate for ebay.

As disappointed as I am in eBay's e-cigarette policy, it's pretty simple. They're not against e-cigs, per se, but the fact remains that they are age restricted in most districts. As far as I know, it's against eBay's policies to sell ANYTHING that is age-restricted on their site. They simply have no way of verifying age, and they are protecting their bottom line.

I get most of my vaping gear from eBay, too. A lot of people will continue to sell on eBay until you simply can't, if ever that time comes. And if it does, there will be another alternative. Or, we'll actually need to pay SRP at authorized resellers, of which there is no shortage.

Wanna get REALLY creative? Get a few people to make 510 LED flashlight attachments (wiring them would be simple), include a battery, and call them 510 flashlight bodies.

They have these. Could be a fun argument for someone looking to have some fun with ebay

"No sir, mod is actually short for modular flashlight. Want to buy a flashlight atomizer?"

Joe recently pimped the flashlights with 510 connections from fasttech. Today, I saw there are more newly listed. I really need a flashlight, but wouldn't you have to hold down the button to light it up? That sounds totally annoying... Sorry, this is getting off topic :(

I am assuming that china already makes 510 flashlights for all of the countries that have already banned ecigs and like devices.

Just FYI -

2Puffs just completed their Trademark registration, an as such, petitioned eBay to remove cloned tips from their service. You will see them dropping off from the lineup at eBay.. However you may see some 'OSO' type tips listed.. China has FLOODED the market with 2Puffs items over the last few months..

- From a eBay Top Rated PowerSeller who sells mostly Vape Gear.

This is good information if you are a seller on eBay. If 2Puffs has joined the VERO program others will probably follow suit.

I buy Vape Gear from Sellers on Amazon I have had really good experiences so far. The other day I ordered a Seigeli 30watt ($70}at 8 am 2 hrs latter I got a shipping notice. I know this particular seller is an Authorized reseller. I also got a Fat Snow Wolf Black Rose Edition Mod from Him and I know this seller is an authorized Asmodus Mods reseller. The 2 business are next door to each other in California. Amazon seller look for the same things as you would look for with an E-Bay seller High Customer Service rating ect. Any E bay sellers could if they wanted move over to Amazon. Not only would E-Bay lose its commission on e-cig items but if the shoppers went to Amazon for Electronic Cigarette items they might buy other things while they are there- things that are also for sale on E-Bay. And I don't have to go thru PayPAl

Just an update...Kangertech is also now on the blacklist.

Does anyone know the current stance on box mods being sold on ebay?

From their own policy, ecigs are prohibited under tobacco products, but only vaporizers that are specifically used for illegal drugs or alcohol are banned.

Where does that leave box mods and mini box mods?

Any input welcome.

Ebay DOES have listings for "adult" items. You have to verify your age, I'm sure.

I think in reality, it's just BS politics on EBay's behalf. They are stopping sellers from selling "ecigs" to satisfy the ANTZ while at the same time making a killing in fees.

Much like "sin" taxes all the politicians are proposing, it's about money, all the while in cloaking under the guise of "save the kids".

I'm curious - where does this come from? The only thing I see in eBay's policy is

Not Allowed: Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) and components

If there's something in their policy about vaporizers I'd like to read it.

The most information I have found is only discovered after you violate their policy :)

One of the most important lines is this one:
"This includes batteries, e-juice, atomizers, etc. for items that are e-Cigarettes by name or by manufacturer classification. "

Hence, why certain manufacturers are blacklisted. In Kangertech's case right on Kanger's main site it said "Leading Manufacturer of E-Cig" or similar. Make it hard to convince eBay you are not selling e-cigs when the company themselves call them that. So any company that calls themselves e-cig related will certain end up on the naughty list.

Here is their letter:

After reviewing your eBay account, it appears that you have violated eBay's Tobacco Products policy. We realize you may not have been aware of this policy, or that this may have been a simple oversight, but we unfortunately had to take the following actions:
- Violating listings have been removed. A full list of removed items is available further down in this email.
- Any fees for listings ended early because of this violation will not be credited to your account.

Due to strict government regulations, eBay doesn't allow the sale of most tobacco products. This includes cigarettes, cigars, herbal cigarettes, and smokeless tobacco. E-cigarettes also aren’t allowed on eBay. We realize e-cigarettes don’t contain tobacco. But due to a lack of globally consistent or clearly established regulations for the sale of these items, eBay has made the decision to not allow the sale of e-cigarettes or their components.

You may sell collectible packaging that contains tobacco if the package is unopened and the required tobacco statements are included in your listing.

The following items are not considered collectibles, and they are not allowed to be listed or sold on eBay:
- Cigars in cellophane wrapping
- Collectible tobacco, including a listing that describes the tobacco instead of its collectible packaging
- Tobacco products packaged in classic packaging

You listed an accessory for an electronic cigarette. Based on a warning and requests from the FDA, eBay decided not to allow e-Cigarettes or their accessories on the site. This includes batteries, e-juice, atomizers, etc. for items that are e-Cigarettes by name or by manufacturer classification. While we appreciate that you have chosen to utilize our site, we must ask that you please not relist in this case. We would have loved to explain this to you over a phone call, however, this item was removed outside of our calling hours. (9:00 AM to 9:00 PM)

OK, well eBay is going to be as vague as they think they can get away with. Doesn't look like they specifically mentioned Kanger or did I miss it?

I got the MC999 from them in October for a Kanger product. The message included:
"You listed an eGo product. Based on a warning and requests from the FDA, eBay has made the decision to not allow e-Cigarettes or their accessories on the site. After research with government, legal, and e-cigarette manufacturers, we have determined that all eGo products are either e-cigarettes or e-cigarette accessories."

I immediately removed the word "ego" from all other listings and no problems since then. Could that be what happened to you?

The thing that I find most discriminatory is the fact that under allowed produts it lists "Nicotine patches or gums"
How is e-liquid any different than gum or that physical state?

eBay is constantly removing listings. Just because a search result gives 2000 hits doesn't mean a thing, there might have been 2800 hits were it not for the random enforcement of their tobacco policy that week.

It's not such a problem for buyers as it is for sellers. eBay does just enough to say they're enforcing the policy, and makes a huge pile of money off of us in the meantime.

I'll say this one more time:

Your fellow sellers are reporting you because you are the 'competition'
Without 'competition' a single seller can have a monopoly of kanger (or whatever else) products.
Your fellow sellers are your worst enemy on eBay.

I sell CD's, music memorabilia, and sports cards on eBay.
I buy a lot of vape gear from there because paypal offers an extra layer of protection plus I may only have 50 bucks in my bank account but at the same time i have $600 in my paypal.
I sell on eBay to pay for my vaping hobby (addiction).
