Suggestions for next flavor order

I started DIY with six flavors from FA: Caramel, Cream Fresh, Strawberry, Forest Fruit, Marshmallow, and Honey. I like sweet fruity vapes (who doesn't, right?). I've haven't had tons of success with my recipes (but I'm still trying!) and I think part of the reason is I don't have enough flavors to mix a good recipe. I'm probably missing something to make existing flavors pop. I've used all my strawberry, but still have some of the other flavors left. For my next order, I'd like to get maybe 12-15 flavors, I'm hoping to stick to around $50 or less on the order. I'm open to recipes that are more savory than fruity so I don't want to limit my next purchase to just things good in fruity recipes. I'm not a fan of nut flavors though, especially coconut. Peanut might be OK, like peanut butter type mixes. For all you folks that have been DIYing for a while, do you have any recommendations for my next flavor order?

third recommendation

While I like BCV for variety, since it seems you're on the FA bandwagon (good choice!) I'd say MMJ is your best choice to get a bunch of small samples and stay within budget.

Order everything!

I wouldn't limit yourself to just FA brands especially if you like strawberry, Capella and TFA both make an excellent strawberry that many like better than the FA version.

Shark already mentioned wizard labs and the 8ml vials are a tremendous deal to try new flavors. The don't carry FA though but do have Capella, TFA and Inawera which all have some great flavors.

I am not a big coconut fan either and have never even purchased a coconut e juice before. I got some Inawera Cocopilada from WL to make a juice for a friend and wow, it's delicious. Super easy to make as well, just 4% TFA sweet cream and 4% Cocopilada.

If your willing to try flavors other than FA than I would suggest these which are generally considered good flavors to have.

Capella: Vanilla Custard (either original or V2) Sweet Strawberry, Cake Batter, NY Cheesecake.

TFA: Bavarian Cream, Sweet Cream, Ripe Strawberry, Apple Pie, Cheesecake Graham Crust.

If you are worried about Diacetyl, Acetoin and what nots, the bad stuff. all of them listed about are available in a V2 version for Cap and DX version for TFA which are free of that stuff.

I don't have a lot of experience with Inawera but from what I have tried so far there very good. I have heard people say good things about there Strawberry as well, I have it but haven't had a chance to try it yet. I have tried there chocolate cream and milk chocolate in a couple of recipes a few days ago and I am impressed.

If you like watermelon FA does a nice one as well as Capella Sweet watermelon (not the double watermelon) and Lorann does a tasty jolly rancher type watermelon but that you want to get at wizard labs as they have the clear version instead of the red dye version.

You've been given some good ideas here. I'd start with looking for recipes that might interest you, maybe

http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hics-caramel-egg-nog.1867/

to make your own peanut butter: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hics-homevape-peanut-butter-no-custard-note-ingredients.4807/

I haven't tried Sully's yet but it sounds good. You'll notice the recipes above include some flavors I don't list below so if they're the kind of recipes you'd enjoy, add the extra flavors as sample sizes so you can try them.

Must have building blocks in my FA stock in addition to what you have: Vienna Cream, Custard, Vanilla Bourbon, Cookie, and Apple Pie
Must have because I like them: Irish Cream, Jamaican Rum and Brandy (the last ones get added to assorted mixes)
Fruits I also use frequently: Pear, Bilberry, Fuji Apple, Lemon Sicily, Lime Cold Pressed
Optional if you want to play with chocolates: Cocoa and Chocolate, they go hand in hand and compliment each other
Not FA: TFA Brown Sugar Extra and Cheesecake Graham Cracker Crust

You may need to play with to find the best source for your flavors, all to often a vendor will be missing 1 or 2 that you want. It gets frustrating. It may be easiest to go with Mama J's if there are just a few that you know you want in a larger size and get samples for the rest. I got sample sizes early on to try a flavor and when I found I really liked them I purchased larger bottles. Others I knew I'd want/need so I just went ahead and got 10ml bottles (building blocks). Another recommendation, if you're ordering samples and you *think* one flavor may be interesting but you're not sure, order it! You'll come across something that uses it and you'll want it. I goofed that way up front. It's fun having a range of flavors to play with.

I used CAP and TFA when I started my DIY journey. Some like them very much and there are some flavors available that FA doesn't make. I'm very happy to have switched to FA as my base for flavors with a few TFAs.

You could go to www.mamajsflavorshop.com and about order the entire FA line in 3ml samples and not hurt yourself. As you know, a little FA goes a long way, and what didn't last awhile would certainly give you a good idea of what you needed in bigger sizes.

This is going to be a painful week of mixing lol

I've seen Mama J's frequently mentioned here. But never actually looked. That order is going to be HUGE at those prices. Thanks for the link.

:)
