I am just very curious to see how many of ya'll cloud chase and for what reason plus want to know if you strictly Cloud Chase and or vape normally. I am also intrigued to hear out those of ya'll who don't Cloud Chase.

Personally for me I don't Cloud Chase nor ever plan to due for the simple fact that I enjoy my 24mg nic level and I am quite satisfied with the amount of vapor I get from my Aspire 1.6Ohm Replacement Heads. I also really enjoy vaping between 8-10W and really see no reason to go further.

I am not bashing and or publicly flaming anyone here, just kinda want to figure out the whole Trend of Cloud Chasing to get a lot better understanding and learn some new knowledge.

This Poll will not be public!

I like cloud chasing and vape devices at standard ohms also. To me, the chase is more of how creative I can be, in coil/device setup, to get the biggest cloud. After that, it does tend to be a playground pecker contest to see who's is bigger! Boys will always be boys, and even some girls!

There is also the "hobby" aspect of vaping. Just as rocketeers, RC devices, and any other hobbyist try to get their devices higher, faster, better, bigger, etc. to push the boundaries of what is possible within their selected enthusiasms, Vaporers as hobbyist will do the same. It all started as a way to get a better vape with modifying other devices into personal vaporizers, and morphed into the driving force behind advancing the technology of vaping. If somebody wasn't pushing the boundaries, we would still be vaping cig-a-likes or smoking.

I am allergic to pg.. makes me cough and I sound like I have been to a concert - for a month.
So I try to use as little pg as possible..
I do not like throat hit, guess it comes from all the cigs I smoked..
flavor? some.. but clouds.. yes I do love my clouds.. :)

i like bigger clouds do to the visual stimulation it gives. Smoking was a 3 part addiction to me, Nicotin(of course), also the movement of smoking and the visual stimulation of the exhale. So to me the bigger the cloud the more satisfying.

I like this reply. I probably could not have said it better.
I always enjoyed the visual stimulation of seeing the smoke and now that I am blowing phat clouds I love it.
I'm always pushing myself to see how many different ways a cloud can be blown.
I love the way it looks. The way it falls. Or floats. Making it spiral. Lots of shit like that really make clouds enjoyable for me.
But I also like the airy draw, and the better flavor imo.

I like my own personal clouds no matter how big or small. Not trying to blow mushroom clouds to impress or compete. That starts to get into the hobby aspect of it. Which is what I am trying to stay away from. I will take good flavor over huge clouds any day of the week.

I have no logical explanation. I still use an old-school Vamo with an original Protank some days, but others I just happen to grab my mech and dripper with a bottle...I would probably be fine and off smokes with 6-12mg juice on an Ego twist (I was for nearly a year), but sub-ohm custom builds on 3mg juice are something I just started doing for no reason...and now I don't want to stop.

While not a sportvaper I enjoy my personal fog banks.
Not a big throat hit lover.
I guess the way I vape now has gotten me from 24-36mg juice to 3-9mg in my current set up which is a chi you clone or hades v3 clone with a tobh metering out to on the builds from .35 to .45. I just need to give in and get a cloudchaser tip to finish it.

I still build protanks for the mother unit and the current build she has is a bored out aero base in a protank 1 with a parallel coil reading a beefy 2.5 and she loves the clouds and flavor from it.

I mostly use Kayfuns, love the flavor and decent vapor. That being said I do keep a couple of drippers setup and ready to go. I like drippers for tasting juice cause its a whole lot easier that changing tanks. I currently use 12 mg nic, so when I am having a bad day or craving I just switch to a dripper. With 12mg nic a few hits of a dripper normally has me calmed right down.

I'm more into flavor than clouds, but I do like decent vapor production and the ability to vape with short drags. A Cyclone with dual coils at around 0.4 ohms with air holes just big enough to let it breath is my ADV right now.

I've been thinking of trying cloud chasing lately just for shits and giggles. Might get a couple of drippers from FT just for that and try it out. I've also never really played much with different coil designs and this would push me to do that. I'll probably end up learning a lot.

I don't chase clouds. That would take effort:)
I'm a drip only guy. I needed huge volume and airflow to stop analogs. half the time I don't even use a drip tip. I've also found myself going lower and lower ohm.
I don't care about clouds for clouds sake nor what anyone else thinks. I vape for me.

I exclusively vape rda's on copper or brass mechanical mods with VG heavy low nic juice. My all day vape coils are in the .3 to .4 ohm range. Do I like a good lung full of vapor? Absolutely, but I am not trying to blow "competition" sized clouds. I did respond to the poll with a yes btw.

Where is the line drawn between lung hitting drippers and cloud chasing anyway?

I love cloud chasing. It's very satisfying. The flavor, the huge pillow soft clouds that fills my lungs. I quit smoking years ago. Why try to replicate smoking while there is massive lung hitting. It's a funner way of getting our nicotine. That's for sure.

I was in the same boat as Ace. After vaping and still smoking for almost 1 1/2 years, I just wasn't getting what I needed from vaping to get me off the smokes. I tried high nic, but that didn't work. I could vape till I was getting dizzy from the nic and still want and smoke a cig. I was really frustrated and even quit vaping for a while. Smoking as much as ever.... It wasn't until I put away the regular tanks and started dripping and setting up gennies with cotton, like auto drippers, producing the bigger, denser clouds to fill my lungs with that I was able to finally kick a 35 year habit.

Cloud chaser? No. Lung filler? You Bet!!!

I simply post a reply to a review and the Sub-Ohmr's instantly attack me without reading what I wrote, I guess they just have no clue that I prefer my vaping preference while I don't care what others vaping preference is and the fact that I respect others until you attack me. That just shows that the whole trend has gotten to their heads and they have totally forgotten all about the 1.4-2.0ohm vaping preference that a lot still prefer to this day. I have been vaping since 2008 and this is disturbing seeing Sub-Ohmr's attacking others cause they simply don't Sub-Ohm, this bandwagon/trend is making those other Sub-Ohmr's look bad and disrespectful. Just a heads up, don't ever go against Sub-Ohmr's...they will attack you if you're not in their click and or on the bandwagon IMHO from lots of first hand experiences. These Sub-Ohmr's behavior is kinda similar to the Elitist Vapers...be careful of what you say and or type.

Also, I want to say that those who posted their opinion here...I respect ya'll cause non of ya'll attacked me or other non-Sub-Ohmr's here, much appreciated but these others are making ya'll look bad.

i sub ohm but never lower than 0.5 ohm.. i dont use mechs though either so maybe lower ohms will be more enjoyable when i can get more than 30 watts of power. i find that chasing the most/best/preferred flavor coil/wicking method/airflow adjustments is what i like to do, tiny details matter huge and i like all the factors that go into finding that flavor. but sport vaping 0mg juice 0.05 ohms isnt for me, but the tweaking and discovery they do is

Got another moronic response..."Why even bother with mech mods if you're firing 1.4-2.0ohm? A regulated mod would be the superior option. Don't have to worry about voltage drop or your vape getting weaker as your battery runs down."

I have seen the vaping industry/community evolve but now it's being torn apart simply cause of trendsetters and bandwagoneers...do these folks realize they're hurting the vaping industry/community with their behavior and lack of intelligence. I see vapers telling noobies to go directly to sub-ohms and to buy $200+ mods and other disturbing behavior.

Divide & Conquer has officially been inserted within the Vaping Industry/Community...

This goes with the Elitist/Competition part of the vaping community too.

Maybe it's cause I'm an old school vaper that I have this opinion, any new vapers out there who can chime in on how they have observed the community/industry?

That is very true but when you have multiple folks attacking you, it becomes a community complication.

All I posted was this "I ain't goin to buy neither of these mods, my mod has a 0.1-0.2 voltage drop."...the Sub-Ohmr's come out and attack me based off my personal opinion whilst I never attacked anyone.

I'm done and apologize for my sensitive nature.

im a fairly new vaper and i think as long as people understand amp limits/the "safe zone" and proper venting capacity then they should be fine even as a newbie. but it is very important they understand this as simple as it is. i agree with the moronic response though regulated is superior at higher ohms and will also be superior at lower ohms when higher wattages come out which is opinion of course. talk among more experienced vapers should be different than talk between a newbie and someone more experienced. its the internet though everyone expects that everyone else is up to date on what they need to know, sometimes its not the case

It sucks that this mentality is taking place. It's become more of a fad than an alternative for those type of people.
Having nice stuff is ....well, nice. But bragging about your million dollar gold plated mod is just bullshit imo.
I remember the first time I came across a post with that kind of mentality.
Dude listed some of the most ridiculously priced vape gear I had ever heard of and had never heard of.
He made sure to list the price for each of the at least a dozen items he had just purchased.
And then goes on to say how dissatisfied he was with his stuff and gonna buy another million dollars worth of shit.
Mother fucker.
It was so obvious that he was bragging about his goodies, his income, his what the fuck ever.
Mean while my white trash ass is scraping up pennies just be able to buy my iTaste VV3.
I be that guy you see walking along the bar ditch beside the highway collecting cans and bottles for taking to the salvage yard for a buck just so I can get a cheap bottle of e-liquid!
:)
Okay maybe not quite that poor or quite that white trash. But pert near!

Yeah man, this same stuff has been going on since humans learned to walk.

Back in 2012 on ECF, we had the same shit, just a different set of things going on.

It'll always be vets vs newbs, always rich against poor, etc. Me, I don't care. I have what works FOR ME. Which for me, is 1.0-2.0 Ohms across all devices. Rest of ya can do whatever floats ya boat. ;)

An example:
Just now, I got tired of the new 1.5 ohm heads in new PT on my SVD eating batteries for lunch. Great vape, but hell on batteries. So, took it off, put it on my rubberized Bolt with a 510-ego adapter, and it's vaping happily still. Meanwhile, I put the old stock 2.4 ohms iClear 30 back on the SVD.

Win-Win.

I do have two drippers under an Ohm, but that's just for fun. I'll up them to 1.0+ when I rebuild them next. Everything is good.

I will admit that there's something satisfying about blowing a big cloud once in awhile. I vape to satiate my nicotine cravings. I vape so I don't go back to puffing on cigarettes. I vape because I enjoy it. I love the hobby aspect, trying new coil builds, new wicking techniques, and once in awhile some new gear. Different strokes for different folks. That's where people get confused. I don't care if you buy a $250 mech and put a nautilus on top. While that option might look slightly ridiculous all that really matters is if you're happy and if your gear is giving you what you need. We're all on the same team here...right? Vape and let Vape.

You Bet!!!
This is the crossroads we are at in my house, 5 vapers who aren't satisfied with egos and cartos. I will admit that we still smoke 5 to 10 analogs a day (still an improvement over the 3 packs a day I was doing) but next month we are buying some mods and rda's.
I'm not going to beat myself up for the cigarette I have been smoking I've been doing for 36 years I've/we've only been vaping for 5 months. Also I'm also getting ready to get into DIY ejuice making as well.

Welcome to the club my friend! Never beat yourself up for the analogs (that's our job! Lol) Every vape is a cigarette missed, and it sounds like you have a solid plan. Just make sure you do it safely. I recommend starting out with a good regulated mod to begin with when getting into rebuilding coils. Take it slow and ask lots of questions, we'll help you with anything you need. You still may find yourself supplementing with an occasional analog until you find your magic combination, but that's OK! You had a crippling addiction for 36 years and nobody could ever expect that to be overcome in such a short time!

I figure we have enough people looking for a reason to ban vaping, plus trying to be courteous to others while out in public,I don't go around putting rain makers on the weather charts. But in the confines of my own room,I'll let the clouds roll. I bought a panzer clone, a tobh atty, and a stillare atty and started learning how to make my own coils. So far I haven't gone below .5 ohms and that is plenty for me. I like playing with the vapor, making tornados and vapor rings and the such, to me it's just amusing. I never plan to try competing in cloud contest, but to those that do, I have no problem with it.
