What do you think would be worst case scenario for the FDA thing going on?
Just curious.

I don't think they could make vaping illegal. I could see them shutting down the B&Ms, banning flavors and internet sales while handing the whole industry to big tobacco. Even then though wouldn't you just make a mod at radio shack, extract your own nicotine, and make your own flavors?

I'm not downplaying this attack on vaping, I'm just thinking they can't kill vaping. It's something that can't be stopped.

Only big tobacco authorized to produce ecigs and ejuice, cigalike will be the only style, only flavors will be tobacco or menthol and they will be taxed just like analogs.

they cant ban online sales of mods unless they plan on banning online sales of flash lights as well, and if they try to then the parts will just be sold separately (or with a cheap flashlight connected to the 510 lol). but they can make a black market out of e juice

That symbol on Ozoma's forehead is very fitting.First they try to attack my 2nd amendment rights, and now vaping.
As long as I can get DIY supplies I'm gonna vape and I really don't give two shits about what they think about it.

Ah, just one question: What are you going to extract the niotine from, tomatoes?

And where are you going to get tobacco leaves from? Grow them? I'm not saying it's impossible, just improbable. And have you looked into how to extract the nicotine? It’s fairly involved and a dangerous process.

I don't have some apocalypse supply kit in my underground bunker, I'm sure it is a fairly complicated thing to do, just not impossible. All I meant to do was see what other people thought was the worst scenario and like someone above said it would create a black market of DIYers.

Yes, it would create a black market and I for one would continue to get my nicotine from any source available. About the only thing I can really think of is to buy a liter or 5 of 100mg nic base and keep it in the freezer. It would last a single user for years. They cannot ban the flavoring as they are used for just about every eatable product you can imagine. They cannot ban VG or PG because they are used for an extremely wide variety of applications. And as discussed, we can go back to making our own mods just like we did 5-6 years ago. So, the only thing they can really control is the supply of nicotine. My answer is to stock up, learn how to DIY, and freeze the nic supply until needed. By the way, I'm not trying to argue or be condescending; just placing the thinking bug into your head.

FDA bans will just make it inconvenient for modders and DIY juicers, but the impact will really affect those who are starting out or your conventional, "ready to vape" users.

I've got plans to open a Vape-Easy because Prohibition worked so well. I'll sell guns and fireworks up front since they're legal.

For real? The worst case scenario is that millions of people will die of smoking related illnesses because that BT cigalike shit doesn't work for REAL quitting.

Worst case scenario? The proposed deeming regs go through pretty much as they stand now and every vaping device and every juice requires FDA approval to sell. The approval process costs a few hundred thousand dollars for each. ~ 98% of everything good on the market now is gone. No free range nic. No juice with nic unless it's in a delivery device. Prices for what's left go up. A lot. After all, it will then be approved by the FDA and be safe ------

Anything close to this outcome will really suck for smokers that have not switched yet and would have switched if the option was still freely available. I really hope it doesn't happen like this, but we're talking worst case.

OTOH, things like batteries, Kanthal, cotton, PG, VG, flavorants, electronic parts, mechanical parts, etc., will not be controlled. So anyone who can DIY juice, is comfortable with rebuildables, is mechanically inclined enough to make one of these and has weaned down to a fairly low level of nic when this goes down should be looking pretty good. Also, I think there are enough of us now to drive a grey or black market for controlled supplies and in the two years minimum it will take for these proposed regs to go into effect there will be four times as many of us vaping

Im sure we will be able to get flavorless nic liquid for cartomizer style ecigs, we can just buy mods from overseas, or make them ourselves and flavor the nic juice at home. They just want to tax us like ciggs.

I wonder if anyone has made a custom drip style atty that uses an NPT or Standard sized thread.
