Kind of wishing I had as well but I've finally received tracking info and should receive it on Tuesday. I've not been overly impressed with Gearbest ability to communicate so that'll be my last order from them. Any problems with the Evolv board I'll go directly to Evolv and do the work myself so I'm not planning on using Gearbest for any warranty service.

If the advertised 1800mah holds true for the VTBox200 it stands to reason I should get about 17 hrs of vape time with similar settings. :) I just need to get a luggage strap connected to it if I plan on taking it out of the house cuz it's a bit big for my pockets. lol
Bahahaha!!! Im sure you can rig a lanyard hook.
Thats massive battery life though! The upside is I wouldn't be apprehensive running a huge 22g dual build on it at 90w. That'll kill the 900mah cell in a few hours the pack on that mod should hold out for almost a work day

Get both! that's my plan ! the form factor and fit and finish of the vsdna is immaculate, and perfect for travel or just hanging out. the battery life and the expansion capabilities of the cm will be ideal for longevity and an actual investment rather than trying to sell and replace a mod as it reaches obsolescence

Trust me, I'd love to, but I don't think the missus would appreciate it. While she approves of my vaping (she doesn't vape herself, she was one of the lucky ones to avoid smoking), I don't think I can convince her to let me justify $400+ in one month on mods lol.

I got 8.5 hours on it yesterday with my billowv2 @ 54w and 490degrees with a 110w preheat.
Running 24g stainless steel at a 0.18 ohm build.
I made some screen adjustments in escribe to get me better battery life. The time out is at 3seconds and the brightness is down to 60% from 100% and the dimmed screen is off.

If you're getting that kind of battery life though, the VS might be the route I go. I mainly want the DNA200 chip so I can temp control SS 316 wire. I just feel "better" running SS over Ti01 or Ni200. How heavy of a vaper are you? I work from a home office and can cloud the room all day if I want, so I don't need to wait for a vape break. Curious to see how it'd hold up for me...

Depends on the day,but normally im a heavy vapor. When I do wanna go crazy builds with an RDA in kanthal I still prefer the hexohm. But when im running tc I like between 60-80w with that preheat. Set anywhere from 100-150.
Keep on mind too, the vs charges at 2a and only tales 1.5 to fully charge. That charge speed, at least for me forgives the smaller battery life. If im in traffic I pass through vape and its topped off when I get where on going. Or ill do the same at work if its a stressful day. But the 8-8.5 hours was a day where I was out with a lady friend all day and forgot my backup. I'd say I was vaping between light and heavy, closer to the heavy sidem

Gotta beware them feminine wiles!
Good info though, leaning more towards the VS. Might talk the missus into letting me do the Cloudmaker for Christmas though... will also give them time to work out any kinks they may end up having. Now to just wait on my paycheck to get in and clear so I can do some damage on it....

If I were interested in another DNA 200 it would be the VS. Posted elsewhere there may be a 20% discount this weekend with coupon code "LABORDAY" but not for sure if it's all online inventory or just specific items. Good discount if it's good. https://www.juicedb.com/business/389/vapor-shark/deal/492

Edit:
Well I just tried to use this code and it isn't valid currently. I'm not sure if it's good or not or if it's just outside the time frame for the holiday special.

Edit 2: Well the VS coupon is good now for a total of $159.99.

Additionally another 200 by Hotcig just slightly larger than the VS with a detachable battery coming in at $125 with coupon code MAP. I've read additional batteries will be available in October. https://www.fasttech.com/products/3372100

Just tried adding the coupon, and all it does is "spin", like my browser is not accepting it. Ideas? $40 off is a pretty damn good deal....

Think I killed my VS, when plugged into computer screen says warranty repair. Will communicate with escribe but soon as unplug dies. Figure I toasted the lipo. Have not used heavily, but regular vape is extremely heavy for 5-10. No matter the mod, tank gets very hot. My suspicion is lipo due to heat, though would think it should be able to take it like other mods.

Still baby the VS due to no skin and does not go out and about with me often. Anyway looks like it will head back this week.

have you been leaving your mod charged overnight?
Did you usually charge the mod into 2.4/2.1a power adapter?
Have you lately been fiddling with the battery or the battery door before this happened?
Have you try hard resetting it? I heard theres a way to do it on escribe.*
What is the date stamp on the mod?(So we can sort out if your batch have similar problem.)

You may be able to recover it in Escribe there's an option to do a USB Recovery. I'm not sure what exactly it does but maybe worth a shot.

Copied from Evolv Early Adopter forum.
In Escribe - Device Monitor - Diagnostics - Advanced - Perform USB Recovery charging

Sorry I am new here, I should be getting my vs 200 today in the mail. I seen earlier that someone is using the ss triton coils in Tc mode. Just want to confirm, I will have to set up custom profile for ss on escribe then I can use the ss triton coils ?
It would help as here in Australia it cost a lot to ship vs Ni200 atlantas coils.

I don't exactly know the in's and out's of the device but you should be able to load any TCR you like for a variety of wires on any DNA200 device. You can download these TCR's here.

Yes there is a tutorial on how to change tcr on evolv's website on the dna200 page
http://www.evolvapor.com/dna200.php
If you go to steam engine.org just save the .csv file in excel for stainless 316 and load that into the custom tcr slot for the profile you want to use it in and set the rest up like normal.
Im running my triton coils at 50w and 490degrees with a 90w preheat at the '8.5' strength for 1.5seconds.
If that looks greak now it'll make sense after you start playing with it
Here is the steam engine link for 316

Hahaha worst that would happen is it'll run im regular power mode...and for that I just put down the DNA and pick up the sxmini. still not a fan of the way evolv handles regular kanthal. But they did take the checkered flag for temp limiting hands down.
Steam engine has a tcr curve preloaded for most coil material. If you have an issue with the .csv file, you can just load in the tcr by number, its nowhere near as accurate or smooth but it will work and give you that boost and preheat...its 0.001.
That boost and preheat is really what makes the DNA shine ...imho

I just today found out you had to connect to a PC via Escribe to adjust the Preheat though. I didn't realize this when I ordered mine. Total fail on Evolv for not making it a adjustment on the device without the need for a tether to PC IMO. Similar to the Soft, Standard, Eco, Powerful, Powerfu+ modes on the Sxmini m. Hopefully they'll fix it / add it to the device in future firmware updates.

Agreed!!! Total fail not having a boost feature for Kanthal either!
I want that more than I want a preheat adjustment via the mod. I would be totally happy having a different profile for a different preheat parameter and making the other adjustments as needed. That boost in Kanthal mode is what makes the sxm such an awesome device.

Yeah I agree I don't like the dna with kanthal. I have a draw with a ton of different kanthal and I don't touch it anymore. Since my rdna and m-class I have been on ni200 and Ti only.
The pre-heat feature is what I think will give a great vape. The m-class will end up being my throw around mod.
Thank you for all the information I can not wait to play with it all. I can't sleep I feel like a big kid waiting for Christmas morning lol. I just hope the mail arrives before work.

Thank you all for your replies on the dead VS. Had sent the hard reset from escribe and did not do anything, think looked at the diagnostic section but quickly, but more later. Basically since there is power when usb connected, and dies the second it is disconnected either the lipo is toast most likely. Had not charged over night yet, but mostly through computer, few times on 2amp, always charged quickly so was never in rush.

Will post back later when home on manufacturer date, never opened it up yet. Really not much can try that won't void warranty. Small roadblock, but will get resolved.

Scnope, not at this current time. the only reason I wanted it was for tc with stainless. its easy to work with, and vales better than ni200...and doesn't give me the taste of elephant dung that ti does.
Plus stainless runs like any other metal in power mode on anything else, so its a win-win. no more atomizers dedicated to one mod.
If they did duo a boost mode for power I would be so stoked!
Kind of dumb on evolv's part considering the chief competition for the board is the sx350j, why would they NOT do it?

I'm clearly not an informed consumer. Wasn't aware of that either. I guess it's a good thing I rarely use Kanthal anymore or that would be a major issue for me. I have two drippers that I use with Kanthal from time to time mainly when tasting juices or just want a stronger more airy vape. But when I do I make use of the Preset modes on the Sxmini m.

Is this ss ok to use.

I had gotten away from tc altogether, I can't find a good single coil tank to work with it and 50j wasn't enough for a dual coil build with ni200. I had done a bunch of research and lurking over ay evolv's forum and figured when I found a tcr curve for the SS, the gamble would be worth it. And honestly tc with tue stainless is really the best vape I've had yet.

316L is ok to use... Im not certain what diameter wire that is, im a narcissistic American and think everyone should use awg. Hahahaa
If its equivalent to 24g or 26g I would say yes.
316l has a tcr curve km steam engine listed as: '316l elite'

Edit:::: Im stupid it says 26g....yes that should work.

Where'd you get the SS from? I've mainly been using Ti for the last week or so but don't really feel comfortable with it. It is easier to clean and re-wick than Ni200 but just not comfortable with it.

I get the UD stainless from vapordna
Hate hate hate the taste of ti...
The ONLY thing with stainless is rather than dry burn, you'll wanna pulse it at a low wattage(10-11w)- thats it. Other than that....it works identical to kanthal.

Is there a problem you know of with dry burning it like Kanthal or are you just playing it safe?

Playing it safe, and I remember back in the day using ssmesh as a wick, you would lose conductivity through it oxidizing, via burning it, I want to avoid that.

Apologize was going to post the date of my VS, busy, was 8/24/15. Had no pealing issues, but was protecting device.

Issue was resolved. I hear stories about poor customer service, I experienced very quick and very positive resolution. Thank you f1r3b1rd for advice.

Long story short was within return policy and went that route. I miss this device and was by far my favorite both features/performance and size/feel. I need to sit back and watch for a bit and planning of re-ordering in few months. Was not comfortable with failure so soon and really not pushing high limits. I suspect a heat issue caused this as I will chain vape and tank and device will get very hot, however other mods have not failed.

I want to emphasize I highly recommend this device and my customer service experience exceeded expectations. I look forward to a new VS soon.

Side note, unsure if can wait it out, nothing available yet that is similar to VS form factor and feel. Have suspicion no matter the mod due to vape style chip/lipo would fail same as VS. Also in Arizona and temps 110+ (starting to cool down) could also be factor.

Think I've found the closest thing to a MF Date. Under General Tab > Get Information
Tells when the board was programmed, Just not sure how long they sit in bins waiting to be programmed if at all. :)

Mine was Programmed July 7th
