I want my sixth mod to be a dual battery, is the SMOK Xcube2 good?

Hi people. Hope you are all OK.

I have always said to myself, I want to get six mods, that I will rotate usage of to make them last longer than just one.

Now, I have seen the smok Xcube 2, and it is only £59.99. Upgradeable firmware through bluetooth, TC, 160W(I won't use that high, I just want something with dual batteries that I don't already own, as I own the sigelei 150 already, it is my only dual battery mod, my other 4 are single battery, so I want duals for the extra life they provide).

Can anyone vouch for the quality of the Smok Xcube 2? It is a TC mod, but I am mainly interested in it being a powerful dual battery mod, the TC is just a bonus.

If the Xcube 2 is rubbish, could someone recommend me a quality, dual battery Mod? I can not buy it this payday, but in 2 weeks I can when I get payed again.

So, is the Xcube good? Or do you have any suggestions for a dual battery, high power mod? My spending limit will be around £80.

If the Xcube 2 is any good, that is a bonus as it is only 60 quid, so I save a score to spend on a RDA, or even another set of batteries to marry to power it, and a clone RDA from Fasttech to use on it.

Thanks everyone, Conan.

PS: Would the IPV v3 LI be a better buy, or the IPV 4s? As the D2 has REALLY impressed me. It blows the sigelei75 away. At least there is a workaround, which I use daily, to use Kanthal under 30 watts due to no step down in power mode, if there was no workaround I would of been very disappointed, as on single battery mods I mostly use lower power, with the occasional 50-60, even the full 75 watt blast with an RDA, but I want dual batteries for that due to battery life of singles.

PPS: It seems to have good online reviews. I think this may be my next mod. I then own 5 regulated that are my own, but occasionally I use my missus 50 and she uses one of mine. I also have a mech coming, so that is what will bring it up to six. I think I will probably get the SMOK as it is something different, dual battery, upgradeable yourself with firmware updates, and seems all around a winner.

I have just under 2 weeks to decide what dual battery mod to get. Only problem with the SMOK Xcube 2, is I have no idea what chipset it is running.

I realise this to be a new mod now. I think I am going to go for it in a few weeks, but get the package with the SMOK TFV4 and RBA. Will be around £90, but for my last mod ( for the forseeable future) I want to make it a good buy.

If you want a dual battery mod...

Might I suggest the Titan Mod by Silver Steam.

It is top notch in my book!!!

I like the way the Smok x cube 2 looks and tried my bros. With the TFV4 its an AWESOME setup. Thinking of getting one too. Just posted my own thread about upgrading too. Wish I had the budget to have 6 mods tho. Lucky, lol.

I'll go against the grain and say I really like my IPV3 Li. Dual 18650, built like a tank (it just feels solid to me). User upgradeable to 200 watts, 100j in Ti01, 50j for Ni200. It just flat out works great every time I use it, which is most of the time (my daily driver).

(Left to Right) IPV2S with a Black Billow V2, IPV3 Li with a SS Billow V2

I would definitely get this if it was regulated. As its not though, the contenders so far seem to be the IPV3 LI, the SMOK XCUBE 2,
get the smok m80 plus
Sorry, I should of said I want it to be a high power mod, for when I do want to use 100 watts plus. It is extremely rare, but I do do it.

Fortnight to choose. The Smok is £20 cheaper than the IPV 3 LI, and both have well enough power, even without the 200 watt upgrade. BTW how do you upgrade to 200 watt on the IPV 3 LI?

BTW how do you upgrade to 200 watt on the IPV 3 LI?

You download 2 free programs from P4Y, then hook up the 3Li to your PC that you DL the programs to without the batteries installed and update it. It took me less than 5 minutes. I upgraded the IPV2S the same way. There are videos on YouTube that walk you through it iirc.

The IPV has the benefit of being a tried and tested model, how do you do the 200 Watt upgrade? Not that I would ever go near 200 watts. I think I am literally going to flip a coin, when it comes to picking which model.

If the smok is not all I hoped for, I can always get the IPV 3 LI a month or so later.

Ahh thats pretty cool. I think I will have to stay in 165W though, as I use a mac. I am going to install bootcamp though, as a lot of programs are windows only so I will need them, even the SMOK XCUBE 2 is windows. Downloading a copy of Windows 8 to install at the moment.

Also, do I need all these mods, or should one last me for years? I am buying them as I expect them to last for 2-3 years? But if they carry on and on working, I don't NEED another high power device if the sigelei is unlikely to break. It is only so I can rotate my devices, hopefully making them last longer.

Is the IPV3 LI better than the ipv 4s?

In my opinion yes, the IPV3 Li is P4Y top of the line atm.

I don't really think you need another high powered mod if you are happy with the Sig 150. But I think you would like another 1, just like most of us :D. I'm thinking for myself, my next mod will have a DNA 200 chip in it. Just not sure if I want to go down the LIPO path or get a two 18650 model that will be throttled back to around 140 watts iirc. I'm not in a hurry, when I see the one I want, I'll know it.

Cheers,
Steve

I think your right. I definitely don't NEED another 150W+ mod, but I do WANT one. I want a dual battery mod. So I am likely to buy the Xcube 2 or the IPV 3 LI. I might get the SMOK Xcube 2 as it is something different, but I don't know the chipset, at least the IIPV is proven, tried and tested.

You mentioned the LIPO path? What is this? Using Lipo batteries instead of the 18650's?

This.

And also waiting on the results of this when it goes live.....
http://www.vapingunderground.com/th...mod-can-temperature-control-kanthal-a1.86737/

Even if the TC w/ kanthal turns out to be a bust, Size for a dual battery TC device is appealing !
Just need it to drop to a competitive price point.

These are the only two devices that I am watching ATM, the rest are all nice and all and if I needed one now Im sure I could go find a great device at a good price.
Its a Great Time for Vapers !

Yihi SX330V3SL Chip
Isn't it a SX330 version that powers the 50 and 150? So its a solid chip in the Sigelei 150 yeah? I don't push it hard often either, not sure if that makes a difference. I did hear that in the sigelei 75 it is the same chip as in the snowwolf-is this true? Or was that the D2, I might be mixed up?

Also, I guess the performance of the IPV is very similar to the Sigelei 150 using a similar chip?

EDIT: Just checked, it said YIHI SX330 8.5, guess 8.5 is a FIrmware revision.

EDIT 2: Sorry, I was confused on another forum, someone was saying Sigelei owns snow wolf, not that it has the snow wolf chip.

I'm happy with 3 mods in rotation. All of them being IPV's,great mod maker.
That is why I am not sure to get the IPV 3 LI or the SMOK Xcube 2...I think I would be happy with either though.

I need to install windows on this mac, have a copy downloaded will burn it to disc tommorow, make a 40GB partition just to use the IPV or SMOK update. 165W is plenty for me, but the inclusion of fixes and such is why I would do it, not for the extra watts, as I can't think of a battery that could safely do 200 watts lol.

I have the xcube 2.. it work flawlessly though. The highest push was 135watt using velocity clone.. i use it for my all day vape mod as i travel a lot. I need the power horse of the dual battery. Mostly fire around 30-40 watt on my goliath v2 and the battery stay for 2 days for me.
