Recipe Help Flavor Art Strawberry

I'm relatively new to vaping and brand new to the forums and DIY ejuice. Thought I'd save a little money by mixing my own flavors. I saw in some threads that Vapers Tek was really good nicotine, so that's what I picked up. I also bought some Flavor Art flavors. My VG and PG is Essentials Depot (purchased from Amazon). I mixed up a few flavors and had heard that fruit flavors need little to no steep time. I mixed them up on Friday night. It's now Sunday night and I'm not getting much flavor out of Strawberry or Forest Fruit. I mixed it at 80VG/20PG and about 6mg/ml of nicotine. I started at about 7% flavor since that's what a lot of flavor concentrates recommended. I couldn't find anything on recommended percentages for Flavor Art. I've read that you can actually experience less flavor if the concentration is too high, but I'm not sure if that is the problem. Any recommendations on whether I should go down on flavor in case 7% is too high, or should I start by going up?

Whooo! Too high. This will help: mamajsjuice.com <-- look for "HIC's My Notes on" for lots of insight into FA flavors.

Also, try a search here on VU on the username "HeadinClouds" in the recipes forum and you'll find lots of examples of recipes using FA that you can use and learn from. You're gonna be so happy you did.

Yeah, 7% is likely waaaaay too high! FA flavors are wicked concentrated comparedto most other companies. I'd mix some unflavored 6mg to cut it. 3.5% is still high, as most FA flavors are in the "start at 2%" range, but if you just dropped the stinks and have begun vaping recently, it might be spot on for you.
Lirruping's advice is spot on mate wishing you the best of luck in your new diy!
Fair warning though, the rabbit hole only gets deeper....;)

Agreed percentage too high..3 percent usually works for me..For me a single FA flavor is a "shake and vape" mix but, it can get a little better with some steep time, in my personal experience with it.

Also make sure you are shaking your concentrates before use.
FA strawberry especially needs to be shaken vigorously or it will taste weak.
And I do agree it tastes great when mixed with capellas sweet or TFA's ripe strawberry.

That's awesome. That's for all the feedback. I mixed my test batch down to somewhere around 2% and it is a lot better. From your experience when using multiple flavors, do you aim for an overall 2% flavor concentration or do you do 2% per flavor or somewhere in between.

for all-FA mixes, I usually end up between 6-8%. Sometimes lower (especially for coffees and tobaccos), sometimes higher, very rarely around 10% (usually something fruity). Other than tobaccos, I can't think of any FA recipes I have that total just 2%, and I often flavor lighter than many people.

In my blends, I do usually 2.5% FA strawberry and 4% CAPS sweet strawberry.
And then whatever crazy extras, such as vanillas, custards, etc. Hope that helps
