I need a new stealthy box mod/tank

I've been working with the eLeaf iStick for almost a year now and I love the fact that it's so stealthy and I can vape nearly anywhere without getting dirty looks or people telling me I can't do it. I'm looking to add to my vaping arsenal with another box mod of a similar size but possibly more powerful. People have touted the MVP2 or the kangertech subox, does anyone else have suggestions? Also looking for a new tank to replace my crapped out protank 3 (must be at least 1 ohm)

Temp control 40 watt Istick is not much bigger in size and runs well at 30 watts with a Kanger subtank mini,I have two Kanger subox mini starter kits and love them both...I liked the Ksbm so much I bought two!...Black and White!....And liked the tank so much...Got another one of them in stainless,I have some Ni200 coils for My tc 40 watt Istick but have not tried them yet, still rockin' the .5 ohm coil and its great!....Z...

Subox Mini, iStick 40W (buy at your own risk), Cool Fire 4.

For tanks, look at any mini tanks

Are you looking for something with built in power, or replaceable batts? Or either one doesn't matter...The wismec presa 40 is pretty cool stealthy looking.

I am looking for a small, powerful pocket carry setup, too! I currently have the eleaf iStick 50W (never had an issue with it in 6 months of daily use) paired with either a Joyetech Delta II, Horizon Arctic or Freemax Starre tank. I really enjoy this mod and these tanks, but I want a more compact size and more power!

I'm looking hard at the IPV D2 75W. It's small and sleek, and at 75W packs a very respectable punch. I know it has the funky DC power input, but it's not a deal breaker for me. Is there a smaller, shorter, sleeker mod out there?

I also need a short tank. I have no interest in the Kanger Nano - I know it's a quality tank, but it's just too tall for what I need. I need a squatty tank, and I'll sacrifice a little capacity to allow for ease of carry. This is for going to a ball game or a bar for a couple of hours. If I'm hanging out somewhere all day in one place, I'll break out the Sig 150W. I'm not looking for an RBA either. I want to buy a pack of coils and be done with it.

What I need now is the shortest, sleekest, most powerful (75W+) mod & squatty tank combo.

Anyone got any ideas?

Help...

Maybe the tobeco supertank mini and the ipvd2 you mentioned. I think the supertank mini is at angelcigs, only place I know of at this time. Should hit the shores soon and be more abundant.

I've been looking at the Goblin mini for a small tank! I have a D2 on order, so I can't comment. But you don't really need 75W in tc mode, so the Istick 40TC should also work fine as a stealth mod. I have a Sigelei 75 watt, but it's not that tiny (although smaller than many)!

I have no experience with TC (Temp Control?) mods....but I'm looking forward to it. Are you saying that a 40W mod w/ TC will provide more power than a 50W mod w/o TC? That said, the IPV D2 75W does have TC, I believe.

Yes, the D2 has TC. But if you run a single 18650 at 70 watts in TC mode you'll run out of battery really fast. I use TC all the time, and the highest wattage/joules I use is 40 (which is the default on the Istick 40 DC). The watttage/joules is just for ramp up time, but the vape is more controlled by the temp than the wattage - if that makes sense? TC is an entirely different vape than one with just kanthal.

I appreciate the info.

For pure speculation - How long would one charged Samsung 25R battery last on the IPV D2, vaping around 55 watts? Is there a difference between TC mode and not?

Some variables to consider here. Are you chain vaping? Single or dual coil? No matter what, You SHOULD carry a spare, if not a couple even.

I can only tell you that if you vape the Sigelei 75w TC 50 watts or over in TC mode the battery won't fire when it gets to 3.6V. Lower wattage lets the battery go to 3.4 or so. But generally on most of my mods I get a tankful (3 or 4 mls) out of one battery.

This answer depends on your resistance.
Presuming the same number of hits, 55 watts driven into .1 ohm is going to kill the battery a whole lot faster than the same 55 watts through .5 ohm.

Good point. Let's assume .2 ohm vaped consistently at 60 watts. How long will a battery last? Temp Control vs. Non Temp Control?

If you want something really small, get an iStick40W and a Tobeco KS tank. That is the square tank that can hold 7ml. You can get them from Kanvape for just over $16 with their "20OffEverything" coupon. Tank is only about 34mm high so total height is about 101mm excluding the drip tip. I currently have it on a Cloupor mini and the whole thing is really tiny. I have the istick on order to go with it.

For a stealthy vape that is an upgrade from the iStick 30W (I have one), I just received the iStick40WTC and it is just a bit bigger all the way around than the 30W. I'm still playing with it. The Vapor Shark DNA 40 might be up your alley as well (I have the 30W...great mod but is small....top is only wide enough for the subtank nano without overhang).

That is absolutely incorrect. The only thing that determines how fast the battery drains is the watt setting. The watt setting and battery voltage determine battery current. Build resistance has nothing to do with it in a variable power device.

The wattage you set regulated your mod at (Voltage x Current (amps)) is the total power your drawing from your battery. 55 watts is the same power whether you have a 1 ohm load or an 1/10 of an ohm load. 55 watts is 55 watts.

the smallest most versatile mod is the IPV d2 IMHO just a tad bigger then a istick 30
does 75W, and TC for both Ni200 and Ti.

Are you sure about this?

I would be interested in seeing data from laboratory controlled experiments with regard to correlations between energy efficiency:vapor production ratios for various builds. I suspect there are some that are more energy efficient than others.

Hey everyone! Thanks for all the responses, awesome to know there's such a close/knowledgeable community out there. Since writing this, I went out and bought myself the modvapa 50W box. It's a relatively unknown company but I love the mod: its 50W and can run as low as 0.2 ohms (I bought an atlantis off a friend so I've been using that) and it's small too, about the size of the iStick. It's got a removable battery but can also be charged through mini-usb. You can't use it while charging but its not a huge deal. It's also very cost-effective: I got mine for just $50 whereas my friend who bought the ipv mini said his ran him about $110 for basically the same specs. Happy Sunday and happy fall to everyone!

Congrats on finding a mod you like that meets your needs! I hope it serves you well for a long time!
