Hey guys as you may or may not have seen, I have started Vape3D. It is going to be based around all sorts of custom made 3D printed accessories for vaping. It started quite literally last week when I got a influx of requests for how people can get a iPV dock, since then the response has been incredible. Anyhow, I designed a new atomizer stand and I am giving it away on my Facebook page. All you have to do is like and share the pinned post on www.facebook.com/vape3d. Winner gets their choice of stand and color. Here's a little preview of what they look like. These are about as small as you can get for what they hold. Heck the 8 atomizer stand is under 4.5 inches wide!

Very cool man! Keep up the good work!
Looks like you're printing in PLA tho? Maybe ABS would come out cool too

I played around with ABS when I first started printed and hated it. You have to really screw with bed temps and still deal with some serious possibilities of warping during the print. PLA once you get the right settings prints like a dream and is quite strong. I've been thinking about giving abs another go though.

Great contest! How about one for some of us who don't do FB? :)

On a related note, how much do these things weigh?
Good question. I'll go toss it on the scale directly, I can tell you in a mailer it is about 6 ounces packed. They are designed to be very minimalisitc. In fact the 8 atty holder is under 4.5 inches wide.

As for no Facebook, I promise the next one won't be. I should have a site up within a week, so I'll do a post where you just have to post saying you went there and you're entered. Easy enough.

Interestingly, PLA vaporizes and you can put a PLA piece into plaster of paris and make yourself a mould. Wouldn't vape it in my kayfun, but you know what I mean...

Oh it absolutely does, although I really hope that people aren't going to torch their stands :)

I have to say that my interactions with Dhim have been beyond expectation. This guy does great work. He is fair, reasonable, and great with customer communication. I ordered a iPV2 stand w 8 holders and it should arrive in a day or so.
This 3D printing thing is amazing. I never thought I would live long enough to see such technology.
Keep up the great work.

How much are you planning on charging for one of these? My current stand is full and this looks like the perfect atomizer stand for my needs.

If they're the same price as the iPV V2 stands, the smaller ones are $10 and the bigger ones are $14... $9 and @12 for VU members. Right @Dhim? :)

Yes of course. Just tell me who you are from VU and I'll do those same prices. :)

These look great @Dhim . Have you decided on a price yet? I would happily order several of the 8 piece holders to clean up the shelves behind me where I shoot my video.
I got your PM on FB. I'll definitely take a bit off for you if you get multiple things. The biggest cost really is shipping (not counting time and what not). If I can ship multiple things together, I can easily pass the savings along.

They are available now. Right now I'm doing business like a momo though. Only through Facebook messages or forum PM and then a Paypal invoice. I really hope to have a site up in the next couple of days. Been absolutely nuts with the initial flood of requests, that I have not had time to design a site I'm happy with yet.
I gotta hand it to you, those stands look really nice!
Thank you. I am pretty happy with how they turned out. Small, simple, but completely functional.

Regular price is $14 for the 8 stand and $10 for the 4. Just tell me you're from VU and it becomes $12 or 9.

Dhim, you are too cool :)
::blushes:: if it wasn't for you guys I would have never started this. After all the response to the dock I made, I figured why the heck not. Especially @Vaper Dyana kept telling me to do so. I'm still kind of in shock how many people think this stuff is interesting. Lot of my rl buddies think its just "one of my nerdy thing"... which of course it is, but yeah :)

@Dhim I wonder.. are you thinking on making like a work stand for people to build their drippers out?
that could come in handy.. specially if you could make it to where they could screw on their dripper to be steady..
I might be up for buying something like that next month.. as I have already spent my allowance this month :D

Truthfully, probably not. You can screw into the plastic and it shold be fine, but it's not something I'm completely thrilled with. I might toy around with making a build stand just to see how it comes out, but if you want a nice weighted stand with screw ins @Jwraps makes awesome stuff. Even with all the 3d printed stuff I have on my desk, I always have my jwraps stand with the 510 connector to build.

Thanks Dhim! Was just thinking on how easy it would be to keep it clean, since it would be all plastic.
No worries.. :)

I was serious when I said I wasn't worried about it. Just posting what you did is good enough for me & shows you're an up & up kinda person. ( not implying you weren't before LOL )
Take the $2 and buy yourself a strong cup of coffee.... You're gonna need it with the orders that'll be coming in!

These are great, I'll probably order one once you have your site up (no FB). Would be reaLLLy great if you had one that had a hole in it with 510 threads for building on, maybe some other sized holes for things like drill bits or screwdrivers. you could even get super geeky and integrate a ohm reader into it......:D sorry run on imagination... Nice work bro!

I am hoping to have the regular site up soon. I have the site hosting, virtual storefront, and all that other fun stuff. I just want it to look nice and work flawlessly. This all started quite rapidly so now I am going back and playing catch up, so in a pinch Facebook was the best bet to get *something* going.

Threading a 510 into plastic isn't something I feel all too terrific about. I have a couple metal 510 connectors on order to try and work one into a small build station, but I have to design something and test for durability first.

I am kind of surprised that no one has asked you this yet..............................

How many new 3D printers will you be purchasing in the near future?

And can you supply a picture of one of them with half completed stand or whatnot?

And when will you be making a coil jig with a 510 conecter embedded in it and when will you be sending me one:D

Do you do custom requests?
Something exactly like the accessory dock on your facebook with the iPV 2 in the center, cept I need a different mod in the middle.

I have a certain threshold that I have placed on myself. As I hit that lead time, I will invest in an additional printer. Right now all individual orders have had a max of 2 business day wait, with most being printed the same day or the next.

Half completed? You mean a print in progress? If that is what you mean, absolutely. In fact I filmed the first of the mod stands getting printing. I hope to have it edited in the next day or two to show the whole process come to life in about a minute. The inside is awesome, aside from the solid part it prints a really neat honeycomb. I'll try to snap a picture for you.

I've been toying around with the idea of a metal 510 connector in the prints. I need to find the right way to embed it. With the jig portion I really have to consider possibilities on that. Remember it is still plastic so too small or too much pressure and it can snap. Granted if I make it thick enough you REALLY have to try and do so.

Beautiful! You are a creative guy!
Thank you very much. It means a lot to hear that sort of stuff. I am still kind of mindblown that I can create a product from a completely blank digital workspace, design it, send it onto a empty bed to have it created, and then actually have someone want to buy it. It's strange really. All my life I've wanted to be able to draw... which I cannot. I guess it took bringing it back to a collection of basic shapes to find things I can design that wouldn't make my 4 and 6 year olds laugh at! Alright, enough sappy nonsense. /TiredRambling Off.
Nice looking Product and really fair price
Thanks Roger. I want to keep the prices fair and accessible to a wide range of people. Quite often, you get words like "custom" or "made in the USA" and the price skyrockets. My goal is to let people get a truly customized item, made to order without breaking the bank.

Of course. It might take a little longer if I have to design it, but absolutely can be done. I've gotten requests for "Hana" and "MVP 2" boxes along with the traditional Hammond 1590b box. Those should all be ready sometime this week as standard models.

I ordered a Cloupor T5 that's supposed to be here sometime in the next week, would be great to have one for it since it looks a little big. I can get back to you with some size specs once I get it. I really liked the one that had the atty/juice hole on one side, mod in middle, and tool holes on other side.

Yeah it has bottom USB so a dock charger would be great. I'll let you know once I get it in. Congrats on the popularity of your stands, this thread and FB has blown up quickly. Should send some business cards out with orders so people can advertise at B&Ms for you... And STICKERS!!

Slow and steady is the key at the moment! I didn't expect this much traffic at all, and have been able to keep ahead of the requests but I don't want to get to a point where people have to wait too long for their items. I love that the wait time is either same day, with the longest being 2 days.
