What should I expect?

I've just recently started to quit smoking cigarettes & I figured vaping would be a much safer/healthier alternative. I'm using an istick 50w with a herakles sub ohm tank and it's been working perfectly. The only thing is sometimes after vaping, the tank gets hot. Long story short, I have ordered the sigelei 75 watt tc and I'm looking to solve that issue. What should I expect when it arrives? ?

Did you get good batteries and a good charger for the 75w?
You wont notice much performance difference at the same settings bit you will have more options on how you vape.
Most tanks, especially subohm tanks do get a little hot. There's a heating element in there turning a liquid into a gas...its gonna happen. But 'too hot' as in hotter than normal is what you wanna look out for.

Congrats on the switch and the gear!

Thank you!
Haven't purchased any batteries or a charger just yet. They're having a delay on the shipping so I have a few extra days. Any suggestions on the batteries and charger?

Also, can I wait to run on tc mode and just use my kanthal coils with no problems?

Congrats on quitting cigarettes. The tank will still get hot with the sigelei 75w TC. Do you rebuild? If you do I think the sigelei 75w is great for single coil ni200 builds. I have a sigelei 75w also and having great results with a subtank mini with the rba section using ni200 26 gauge wire, but having issues with it in a rda with dual coil ni200 builds. The high temp protection keeps kicking on quickly and have to wait for the mood to cool down.

TC mode , will not work with kanthal ....yet . The heat , tiny bit of leaking , all the nature of the beast for now .

The sigelei 75w tc also uses up the battery quickly, epically at higher wattage and in tc mode. Get some extra batteries. I currently use three in rotation. Invest in some good batteries and a good charger. Personally I use samsung 25r batteries. I would not recommend charging with the USB cable.

Thabk you!
I've definitely been wanting to rebuild but I'm pretty lost with it all. Seems like a ton of things to learn. I'll have to do my research a little more on it.

But if I keep it in "power" mode, would it be fine with kanthal?

The best battery imo would be a sonyvtc5, but careful on vendor they get cloned alot
vapordna and rtdvapor are the two I always got to. It'll cost me a dollar or two more than some places but I feal as though I can trust them
Samsung 25rs and lh he2s are good as well but the way I think of it is if I just spent good money on a good mod im ok spending a few extra dollars on a battery that I know I can trust.
Charger wise I use a xstar i4 litecig had them for I think 20$

Ok I'll have to pick some up. As for a battery charger, could I use any battery charger?

You will be fine with kanthal in power mode. You can also get ni200 pre-built coils for your tank of you want to try out temp control.

I wouldn't go with a cheap charger. They can overcharge your batteries and that would be very bad for the batteries. I personally use a nitecore d2 charger.

Rebuilding isn't too hard. I also felt that way until I started doing it. Much easier than expected. If you want to start rebuilding I would recommend watching some how to videos on YouTube and just ask questions here. Also having the right tools helps a lot.

Any of the chargers mentioned are good options. Add the EFEST LUC V4 as another option. It works well for me.

As far batteries go, the Samsung, LG and Sony ones mentioned above are good though legit Sonys are hard to find. Two reputable sources with good prices for batteries are
http://www.illumn.com/ and http://liionwholesale.com/

Generally accepted chargers and ranking for our purposes. I wouldn't consider any other brands.

1. Xtar
2. Efest Luc
3. Nitecore

In my opinion, (and I know what's up) from extensive personal experience is that Samsung's are as good as any other battery available right now. Sonys aren't much better, if at all. Grab at least 2 of those, any of the above mentioned chargers, and don't be scared to use the charging cable for the Sigelei.

If your tank is getting very hot, I bet you're using a .2 coil. Try the next higher ohm coil that's available for that tank. (.5?) It will run cooler and your battery life will be significantly better.

I wasted a long time rebuilding and I strongly feel that prebuilt coils are 95% as good as building your own. In fact, I believe prebuilts are better for subtanks. Sure they cost money, but rebuilding supplies cost money too, it makes a mess, and I have much better things to do with my time. (like reading this forum endlessly)

My words of advise to you is to take small steps. The setup you'll have within a week will be fantastic and wasting time and money chasing the next best thing won't greatly benefit your vaping experience. I've spent thousands, and in the end my preferred setup is almost identical to what you're buying now. It was worth it though, I'm so glad I don't smoke butts anymore.

The one thing with Samsung and LG batteries is the battery wraps tear easy. I use mxjo, Sony, Samsung and LGs. The mxjo and sonys are going on a year old and still have the original wrap. The Samsung and LG all needed to be rewrapped after a few months of use. Granted its just the wrapper the battery is fine, but when you're out in the middle of the day and go to swap batteries only to see the only spare you have with you is torn. You've got the vaping equivalent of a cigarette without a lighter.

I have not personally noticed that. I also wouldn't buy an inferior battery just because the wrap might be better. A 50 cent battery case solves that problem anyway and prevents other dangerous situations as well. You should know that homie! Worst case in that scenario is a small piece of tape is the vaping equivalent of having matches in your glove box. Its not ideal but it will certainly get the job done. I'm rough with my shit but I have not torn a battery wrapper since I used a tube mod.

To each their own, I have nothing to gain by this; just doing what I feel is responsible and sharing a negative experience with a new vapor. Like I said the batteries cells are fine, the wrappers in MY experience not so much; but again like I said wrappers can be changed if someone were so inclined.
I'm not sure why you're so upset. Also-I do know that HOMIE! I use silicon battery condoms then put those in zipper battery cases

Homie! I am not upset at all. Sorry if you misinterpreted my statement. Enjoy your day homie.

My lg he2 wrappers are more fragile than my vtc4 wrappers. I'm actually about to buy some battery wraps because my lg's are starting to tear.
