Cool! No screen issues?

Yet?

My buddy built a DNA 200 with a lipo battery and that seems to work for him.
Although I believe it may be a clone board. Don't take what I say as fact, because I'm really unsure. All I know is he has a dna200 in a Hammond B box with a lipo 3s battery in it. It has a usb charger as well.

Several update news with Asolo.
unlike other temp control device, Asolo won't reduce the watt automatically, that means it able to produce same vapor cloud as it is in watt mode,
it simply mark your favorite taste temperature, and maintain it, won't let it past the mark.

power with the most user-friendly chip, it is easy operated.

we add a new function "screen rotation function", same of the user may need it.

some small tips for Asolo:
1.keep power off when rebuild the RDA on Asolo.
2.To achieve temp control on Kanthal, make sure atomizer base connect well with Asolo tread.(Kanthal diameter less than 0.3mm or 3mm, coil resistance reach 0.5Ωor more.) kanthal itself is a sensor, only Asolo able to temp control it, Asolo is the most accurate temp control mod, super pcb design, makes it able to read a small change on kanthal, and taste control it well.
3.Add a thin Ti wire(0.2mm or less) on Kanthal wire coil to raise the accuracy of Kanthal temp control. at this time, Ti or ni200 can be a sensor to Asolo, unlike other sensor, use these kinds of wire can help Asolo read the temperature well and control the taste well.
4.Be careful to only attach new atomizers that have cooled to room temp to the device.
Add a thin Ti wire(0.2mm or less) on Kanthal wire coil to raise the accuracy of Kanthal temp control.

release date is in the end of this week, in fact we have stock now, but we need to be careful before ship out for sell.
we will make sure what we sell to customers are final version, the most perfect one.
use Asolo will change what you think about temp control mod.

have a nice day~~~
the power is not limited.
how do Asolo work.
1. find a right watt on watt mod and take several puffs. for example, you choose 30w to fire it, then the result Asolo get is, the best temp for your tank is 250℃,
at this timesimply enter the TC mode, in the TC mode, every one puff you take on the tank, won't pass 250℃. so never burn.
it only control the temp not to pass 250℃,it can still offer same power to maintain the taste.
mind_blown_david_tennant.gif

Wow So you set the watts and it stays there until the tank is dry? thats your take on temp control???

I'm now seriously thinking about building Modzilla (four 18650s two in series parallel with another two in series) with a Yihi SX350J. Also incorporating balanced charging and a 40A switch to change battery feed to the board (can run two in parallel, all four as mentioned above, or disconnected).

No matter where you go, take your Vape!

Looks like this thread has died along with the Asolo ! To bad we would have considered selling it if it were a reality and worked reasonably close to what they said it would.

Roger that dude!!!! I'll probably wait and see what the word is on the DNA and then go with yihi.

Good to wait it out for final production of the DNA200. I've been watching the forums a bit as the concept if very interesting to me but seems they still have some problems to resolve. Several firmware updates released already, some just dying after a week or so use.

If your interested in this board it would be a good idea for you to follow that forum as the fanboys "early adopters" won't be advertising these bugs / problems on the regular forums.

Posted on Evlov's Early Adopter forum.
"Ive had my opus less than a week.
ican only imagine the fuses blew..55 watts on TC Pop dead 200...anyone have any ideas what may have happened here? Im soo disappointed. . I t was working great.."

"I'd have to agree with that myself too, and my device was working flawlessly with all three firmware revisions up until it stopped firing...similar to the other opus mods that have died(I know of 2 others). I'm hoping maybe it's just a clearance issue that can be fixed easily."

Think I'm gonna be axing evolve altogether and going dual battery sx350j. Ive donated enough money to Brandon's retirement fund with not much to show for It.

Yea the idea of dual Sx350j is appealing. There's just not many out there yet that would be easy to pocket at present. Vapor Flask is supposed to release their version mid August I believe but with a hefty price tag since it's being made in America. The flexibility of the M class is what's appealing to me since I never run at high joules, but I have the option of the extension tube if I ever wanted to. So I just bought two Sxmini m vape one while the other's charging and I get similar battery life to a dual :)

Yeah I do the same with the m class. The flask is in parallel though not series so you're still max 75w and 50j with ni200.
That 50j is the one stalling point on it. Other than that I absolutely love the m class. Love that board!!!!! Just want a dual series version of it; and, im shocked that no one has a decent version of it yet other than that bilboard mod the boxer. If they would make the logo normal size I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Yep. Within a couple months, I would imagine a 200W SX350J or equiv board will be available with both Ti and Ni200
Messed up part is, I have zero interest in programming a curve. I program and fiddle with doodads all day long when I vape I wanna press a button and vapor to go in my mouth. If they would have just given it firing modes like the sx I would be more apt to firgiveth the gods of evolv.
The firing modes on the sx chip have me a spoiled vapor, and unfortunately not interested in any of the 330 v3 mods at this point. Which sucks because the new sigelei 150 is kinda nice looking.

Another profit of the KISS Principal!

I fully agree, I just want to build a nice coil that will last and last that only needs a dry burn every couple of days and a new wick inserted, inside an RTA holding tasty E-Liquid, attached to a mod with a fully charged battery set the way I like it and then when I press the clicky button, nice warm vapor comes out.

No curves, learning or otherwise needed or required!

I haven't had any issues at all and the new software eScribe is great. To update the chip, to customize your settings including preheat settings, display and the fade on the display, just pretty much everything and phenomenal monitoring.

After a 90% failure rate and me investing in several variations of the dna40 evolv has a lot to prove to me. I currently have versions of every software revision of the dna40 on 8 different mods. Of course I had to go through 14 mods to get the 8 working versions...... I'm not going through that crap again.
Especially not for a board with a ramp up time. I would almost buy an assholio first!! I was ready to dive in till I Saw that early adopters forum. still using paying customers as Guinne pigs,

The point of having 200W is for the ramp up. It's the only time you can actually use that much power. Very nice feature of the DNA200.

As for KSS, from what I read the Snow Wolf is really nice and can be had for ~$100. It looks a lot nicer than this for 30% less money.

That's not what I meant,
Set the dna30 and dna 40 both to 30w an fire... there is a noticeable build up in the dna40 which bugs the crap out of me.
It didn't bug ,e so much until I got a yihi powered mod (which does not have it either) but putting a billow at 38w on a dna 40 and then going to any of my yihi mods with the same setting is huge improvement in vape. solely because of the annoying ramp up,

Yeah well... As stated evolv burned my ass. And ill have to see that to believe it. Along with zero screen issues-or any qc issues for that matter- Im not playing hot potato with mods and USPS again.

Same here. Evolv has caused me enough grief with their DNA40 that I'll wait until the DNA200 proves to be PHENOMENALLY reliable for me to buy one.

Evolv has been lucky they were the only game in town as far as TC is concerned for me to put up with their shit. I wanted TC at any price, but the price turned out to be steep. Now though, Evolv have to prove they're better than the rest. I really want a DNA200 if I'm honest, but not at any price anymore.

Assholio
http://vapingcheap.com/ijoy-asolo-200w-box-mod/

The ASOLO box mod has a temperature range of 300-600°F and reads down to 0.15Ω in temperature mode and 0.08Ω in traditional wattage mode with kanthal coils. As far as temperature control goes, the ASOLO box mod acts similarly to the DNA200 box mods that are coming out. However, it uses a new chip, the IW 200TC-V01, to do so.

Answers that

You mean to say the Asolo can't really do TC with Kanthal after all??? Fuck that's a letdown. My hopes are soo dashed... I think I'm gonna have to kill myself now.

@gracechen: thanks a buncharoony: I was so hot for you and your product, now I'm totally flaccid.

It's interesting that Chinese mods are now coming with DNA40 chips that actually are bug free and work now. Brandon made the decision to spin off a fuck up and license it to Chinese manufacturers while developing the DNA200. Not a bad business move, but for a lot of adopters of the DNA40, their viewpoint of Evolv cannot be salvaged. While I think that the technology of the DNA200 is interesting, I have no desire to buy one due to a few SX350J mods I own. 150 Watts is more than enough for me.

Digging through all of the Chinglish, half truths and ever changing contest rules, what I am left with is this device may or may not exist beyond a few beta units.

Kanthal temp control works just fine as long as you braid the Kanthal with Titanium or NI200 and you vape upside down so it will protect your tank. To hell with your coil and wick but the tank will be just fine.

Now where did I leave my 10' pole?

No need to turn the tank upside down: when you braid kanthal and nickel or titanium, you get almost the same resistance/temperature response as the nickel or titanium wire alone - meaning the kanthal is just there for physical strength, or for IJoy, for maketing purposes. Kanthal + Ni200 or Ti yields a perfectly normal temp control coil, but with unnecessary complication.

Again, there ain't no such thing as pure kanthal TC. Just bullshit kanthal TC...

I reckon they had to do whatever it took to keep the ship afloat, third party vendor selling to Chinese companies.

Brandon saw the Chinese manufacturers get accurate quickly (as temp control can't be) and do things like adding resistance locks to the mods, plus offer them in higher wattage's/Joules. For every generation Brandon put out, China did 4, so naturally they began to take over the TC market by sheer force. Brandon was forced to accept that the DNA40 was a lost cause for Evolv. Too much bad juju and pissed off customers to keep it viable. It took Evolv almost 8 months to put in resistance locking with NI200. China did it after their first release of the DNA40 clone boards. I have a clone Vaporflask DNA40. It has resistance locking, accurate temp control, and the big screen of the last gen of the DNA40. It's a dead ringer for the Vaporflask at 1:1 and it cost me the unGodly sum of $55. That was cheaper than just the fucking board at retail from Evolv. I can even turn it off with 7 clicks and save my batteries when not using it.
