I got that exact same email, I don't think it's a priority to put out an update

Wasn't Playstation supposed to be upgradeable? Then PS2? Then PS3? I've never upgraded any of them, and now I'm about to buy a PS4. Fucking Asians!!

It's irritating as hell but my Ipv4 is working great. Dont need 120W and I simply plugged up the poorly conceived 9v charge port so I am a happy vaper. Nickel cools in a dripper blow clouds at 400 degrees and .075 ohms.

Sxi software will not recognize my IPV4 to load the update, please help.

For those who may not know, you'll need the ipv3li software package to load this update. I had trouble with the driver, and had to resort to the "extract files" option in the driver install utility and then point windows to the yihi program files folder via device manager to load the driver. It's not a perfect update, but very functional and a welcomed update.

Got it, update works! Love the titanium setting

Hi guys. I don't know the right procedure to update the ipv4. I've installed sxi software, but when i plug in the usb cable and click on connection and then connect, sxi software cannot find the device.

I had the same issue, you gotta go to that first page in sxi, "connect" and install the IPv4 usb driver, it's hard to describe how I did it, but after a few tries sxi just detected the usb driver that came in the sxi package file and installed it.

Take batteries out. Change USB cable. Mine didn't work with the included cable.

Yeah, I think it finally connected with a cable I had from another mod, it was then that it detected the IPv4 device and windows wanted to know where the driver for it was and I just pointed to the YIHI file folder and everything worked

I tried 10 different USB cables and all would run the device thru my laptop but could not detect it through the downloaded software. I don't even need this update but it still pisses me off! Pioneer4you is a clusterf$ck

The curves are very different ti only changes maybe .20 ohms while ni200 is a lot higher. Only way your gonna fire 100j is if you max to 572° and use 24g dual coils or 22g duals

I'm using dual 24 gauge 4 wrap at.06. Should I be maybe shooting for a higher resistance?

Build a 24g 10wrap at 3mm dia coils titanium if you wanna use up to 100j
You can build contact coils just lightly work out the hot spots they should look bluish purple. Never glow red hot

For those of you having trouble with the IPV4 update,
I was able to install the firmware after disabling driver signature verification in advanced boot options in Windows 8. That allowed the USB driver to be installed, and the upgrade to succeed!
Give it a try.

First go to p4y website and download and install theSXi software. Than download the upgrade software from the site and remember where do you store it. Next go to start on your PC and start the SXi software. At this time take off your tank or atty from your apv and batteries out too. Connect your apv using the data cable USB, then on the window with the SXi press connect, then install the USB driver. After all that and windows give you confirmation that your device is installed proceed to upgrade

Also to be noted. I had a older version of the sxi software installed on my pc that was used with the first sx 350 chip. After installing the new version and driver I had to reboot the pc to allow the new driver to to be loaded.

Hey, I know all of that, the problem is that the SXI and update are RAR files, not zip.

This reddit is what I used and it worked without a hitch. Scroll to the bottom of the thread, there's a step between 11&12.
https://www.reddit.com/r/electronic.../how_to_update_your_ipv4_titanium_coils_120w/

Thanks Myk. The reddit instructions worked perfectly - once I got my computer to recognize the device. I had to go into settings/troubleshooting/hardware and devices. Once it recognized the attached IPV4 I was able to install the driver and then complete the firmware update.

Are you using titanium wire when you have the mod set to Ti01, titanium wire has a lower resistance than nickel.

yes, i am, and titaniums resistance is higher than nickel. i was using titanium prior to the update and just compensating by setting 100 degrees lower, i just feel like it was a better vape

Hello All,
I have some useful information.
Asmodus was the warranty repair service center for Pioneer, they dropped Pioneer or Pioneer dropped them, anyway, going to IPV website, I saw two new companies listed for Warranty.
I contacted both about the known issues with the IPV4, KMG was the most receptive over Vapro. I spoke with Marshal at KMG and he told me if I had problems with the Mod to send it post paid both ways to them for replacement, they would send me a IPV4S, also about the mirrored screen cover, they would replace it with the newer black one with the clear window, NO CHARGE.
So go to their website, click on IPV Warranty, fill in the lines, put the Item batch number in, pull the battery cover, it is the L number, under description say, mirrored screen. In two or three days they will e-mail you with a conformation and a link to PayPal for the postage, it cost me $1.32, CA to VA, mine arrives Monday, I ordered it this past Monday.
Here's the link for KMG: http://kmg-import.com/index.html
Do not worry about the other info they ask for, it is only if you are sending the IPV4 back to them.

That's the only beef I really have with the ipv4. It's a sorta cheap but I kinda knew that with it only being $69.

Does that mean mine is better than yours? I paid $79.00 for mine.

I'm waiting for the new Sigelei 150w to hit the shelves, the new Sigelei 75w looks very sweet also.

....Well sorry to "burst your bubble" but that's the original IPV4 buddy. This is the updated version, the IPV4S that fires up to 120W and 100J in temp control.

Did P4Y remove the charging board and or plug up the charging port on the IPV4S?

Cheers,
Steve

Wingsfan0310, I'm still confused as to whether they have done this or not. I contacted my supplier just now about this so once they get back to me I'll let you.

Maverik_x, we ship from San Diego, California via USPS First Class Mail. Keep in mind though that this listing is currently a preorder and will ship out either on or before July 29th.

If anyone has any further questions feel free to reply to this post or you can email me directly @ [email protected]. Thank you!

Sounds like a decent deal, but I've sworn off any sort of pre-orders where P4Y is concerned. If they're supposed to ship by July 27th, they might be here by Thanksgiving.

I know exactly where you are coming from but this is completely different as P4Y is NOT my direct supplier. What you are referring to was when P4Y continued to extend the date of the IPV4 release. The IPV4S is already released so there is no chance of any delays. Please do not worry about that as we guarantee you that any order placed will be shipped out at the given date.

Not only that. It goes to the motives and general integrity of the decision makers at P4Y. We're seeing another example with the firmware update for the IPV4, as we speak. Doing the bare minimum to appease a select few, they display very little concern for the bulk of their existing customers legitimate and, given their available resources, relatively simple to address issues. They can't be trusted.
