problems with my atlantis v2.. just problems all around

what's up guys..

so i'm about to a point in my vaping "career" where i wanna say fuck it and just go back to the ease of cigs. i started vaping about a year ago and have matriculated through the ranks of equipment and finances, and at every point along the way have found some problem or dead end that has made me say "whatever, i'll just go buy something new and better and that will fix what's ailing me". the main quandaries that have gotten me to this point were usually something along the lines of 'the device i have isn't providing enough vapor", and so here i am with an aspire atlantis v2 on a smok xpro80. well, the amount of vapor isn't my problem anymore, and the atlantis is not my favorite tank by any means, but it's what i'm using until new coils for my arctic subtank come in the mail. new coils... ahh, yes... those precious new coils that are going to let me start over and make everything better, right? HELL. NO. i can't even begin to tally the amount of coils i have gone through trying to make the dreaded dry hits go away. every time i put a new one in, it's like okay, i think i know what i did wrong last time, so i can fix it this time... nope. yes, i prime the wick. i drench it, i saturate it, i make sure the holes aren't being blocked, i let it sit for hours, i take primer puffs, i start it out on very low wattage and work my way up. and then, like clockwork, maybe 8-10 puffs in i get that god awful taste. i try the .3 coil, i try the .5 coil. every. damn. time.

side note- the .3 coils for the atlantis says it can take up to 70-80W, and the .5 says 20-30W, anyone know why there's such a disparity??

anyway, besides the point. the .3 coil can most certainly NOT handle anywhere close to 70 watts, and even when i run it at ~30 the dry hit comes. can anyone, ANYONE give me some advice... or maybe point me in a equipment set-up direction that works for them and they know is tried and true? i was only to able to vape one coil on my arctic before it got blasted, and none of the shops where i live carry extra arctic wicks (even the one i got it from). as usual, i think i know what went wrong with the arctic wick and in all honesty it worked pretty good for a while (not as long as it should've though), so i'm holding out some hope that i can get this thing right on that tank. i actually liked it while it was working. can you buy "premium" coils, for lack of a better word, that are solid and are known to work better than stock ones?

also, one last note. the smok xpro was a hand-me-down, of sorts, as i bought it second hand at a large discount from a guy who works at a vape shape here in town. is there any way, any way possible this problem could be related to my battery? or perhaps the xpro has a reputation for sucking balls?

i know i sound agitated, but if anyone responds to this, or even reads it, i would be sincerely and greatly appreciative. i really don't want to give up on vaping.. i do enjoy it, but have encountered more problems than pleasure thus far, and am only growing weary of the hassles.

Are you vaping max VGjuice? I've vaped the Atlantis 0.3 coil at 70 watts with absolutely no issues, but I was probably using 40pg/60vg.

Sounds like you have been around the block and have a decent handle on what you want and like. Personally as far as tanks go No matter which one you use it is only as good as the coil in it. You will always get the odd bad coil but that should be the rarity. As for dry hits. The tank that I use that has never given me a dry hit (mostly vaped at 50 watts) is the starre or maganus. If I were to only have one that would definately be it. Coils usually last me 2 to 3 weeks depending on what flavors I use and have never had a bad one. I ordered some from fasttech (10 for $17) hope they are as good.
If you want more control of the whole process you need to move onto a rebuildable atty. Careful thou !! It has its own frustrations and may take a few attempts to master how to get it to work for the way you vape and the juice ratio you use. Fortunately for new to it people there are a ton of building videos on youtube for just about all the popular RTA's out there. I could tell you what I use for rebuildables but that may not be anything similar to what your likes may be. So many options. Single coil or dual, cotton,rayon, airflow,top fill or bottom, airflow, types of coils etc etc. I one thing I will say is when I went to rebuildables my problem switched from dry hits to flooding. Fortunately that was in my control to fix.
Do yourself a favor and don't give up. Smoking Kills !!! Don't do it !!!

Im with nodor with using the freemax starre and i havent had a dry hit yet on my first .5 ohm coil that comes with. (besides the time where i was pushing my luck with how much i could keep vaping when there is little to none liquid in the tank.) and i filled up about 7 tanks so far. Before i really started vaping i use to think the Atlantis was the most top dog tank on the market, searching to get my feet wet in the vape game, a friend was saying he was going to sale his ipv4 but NOT his Atlantis. This made me think, "Wow that must be a really good tank." after doing research to see what i can find and options i have to see what i really want, the atlantis is pretty average in the sub tank battle. This isnt from first hand experience but just looking up alot of reviews. Based on research alot of people like the Starre/Maganus, Herekales, Artic, Melo, and Delta 2. There are more though. I feel like the dry hit i had with my starre was a baby one, but it was still terrible and i really didnt want to press my luck with trying again after. i can only imagine how a legit dry hit would be on a sub ohm tank and if this aspire product you have is anything like the nautilus mini, i can understand you frustration and how frequent and random dry hits comes plus it is a sub ohm tank which is probably x5 the nasty taste.

I noticed that any juice I've tried below 70vg/30pg is dry hit after dry hit. I alway vape 80/20 or above in my sub ohm tanks. 50/50 was incredibly bad for me so I never have gone below. Just some thing I figured out.

I'm using a 50-50 juice right now in my atlantis with the .3 ohm coil 10 tanks in and no dry hits . It sucks you are having problems and I hope you get them worked out. good luck hope you find what works for you. I've tried kanger sub tanks lemo 2 and atlantis and each has there purpose kanger and lemo work great at low watts atlantis is the only tank i've been able to push at 70 watts with no dry hits.

Ive used max vg juices since I got my Atlantis V2 in May and I havent got a dry hit yet....I love the .3 Ohm coils but have gotten pretty good at rebuilding my own coils for it. Ive never had a problem with my Atlantis V2. Something tells me your not priming your coils fully or you got a bad batch of coils...Ive taken the .5 Ohm coils to 50 watts with no real issues and gone to 90 watts with the .3 Ohm and the only reason I didnt stay at those wattage's is because the heat to flavor ratio isnt the best

i am going to third the maganus. Get the ni200 coils for it and use it on a TC device like an IPV D2. Its amazing and no dry hits with TC. the flavor is just magical. I use max vg like 97vg/3pg on it all day long with no dry hits ever
