Rare planetary aligment tonight

They just said on my local news (so yours might be talking about it too) that there's a rare planetary alignment tonight. Jupiter and Venus will be in near perfect alignment with Earth. Last time was 2,000 years ago. Will result in what appears to be an extra bright star in the night sky, tonight, where one normally sees Venus (after sunset on western horizon) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencet...s-Illusion-makes-planets-close-night-sky.html

Too bad my area has such bad light pollution I can barely see a star. Damn suburban sprawl...

Yeah, I usually find myself looking up at night at what few stars and planets I can see (I live in a metropolis). For two nights I have been struck by venus and Jupiter appearing side by side. Really cool stuff.
