Will vaping push away the hookah trend/buisiness?

So I've tried hookah a few times in the past. People seemed so excited about the different flavors there are and the decorative hookahs they can get, but will vaping kill the hookah business? I would assume it could because vaping has many flavors as well, and it's portable. The only thing I could see that would make hookah more attractive to people is the more social use of it and how it produces larger clouds than your average lower end vape device. I've even heard of them coming out with electronic heating elements that replace coal in hookahs.

Just curiosity, what do you think?

Oh great, that's all we need. Big hookah teaming up with Big tobacco and big Pharma to take down vaping. Maybe the people who rent fog machines to concerts and haunted houses will join em too :p

I doubt it would push them out of business.
Just like bars stay in business despite the fact that you can buy a bottle of liquor at an outlet for the cost of a few shots at a bar.

I hope it does stomp all over the filthy shit that is burning tobacco.
Nothing like sucking in a double lung full of tar and burnt sugar to be social.

For couple demographics it will diminish the Hookah allure. Most Hookah tobaccos are washed and are low in nicotine already, but they are still burning tobacco leaves and inhaling the chemicals and tars from the combustion. The idea of water as a filter for smoke has been around for centuries, but the fact remains that the Hookah smoker is still inhaling burning tobacco, no matter the flavor.

In the city closest to where I live, there are at least a dozen Hookah and Shisha bars. They pay a city registration fee as a Pipe and Cigar store which is quite a bit less than a Tobacconist registration fee which the city is poised to implement on B&M's along with a 5 cents per ML tax on eliquid and a special tax of 15% on B&M's within 1000 yards of a school. Shisha tobacco is effectively taxed at 3%, yes 3 fucking percent. Big Tobacco at work here.

I call is shitty tobacco. washed, piss on or anally inserted it is still tobacco, still burning and still harmful as fuck tar and chemicals.
Oh but it is washed... it is still tobacco, still processed with urine, feces contains whatever fucked up chemicals used in the curing process. Therefor it is still smoking.

Jesus wept if I smoked a pipe I am still smoking. Zero difference if you use it through a briar wood carved piece of elegance or a bedazzled bong.

I think the hookah fad will fade, if it's not already on its way out. I'm already seeing a lot of the same kind of kids that used to hang out at hookah lounges shifting their focus to vape shops...

Honestly most hookah bars are owned by middle easterners, and they don't really ID at most of them. Kids <18 are the ones that I usually end up seeing there. I'd imagine that once they turn 18 they start going into the "big boy" vape shops, and shedding off their hookah baby diapers. Also vaping is still very social. My buddy is the one who dragged me into vaping and we usually cruise around town vaping away.

I've seen a few hookah lounges close down in the past few years. I believe vaping is shutting them down for sure.
Maybe a few good hookah lounges will survive, but walk into a vape store, it's usually always packed, well at least here where I live.

Yes, when I was about 15 my sister started inviting me to the hookah bar with her 25+ year old friends. I looked so young and they never even questioned my age. I'm suprised they're still in business. You'd think the cops would bust them.

I believe vaping is putting a dent in their business, but they will probably always exist since middle eastern people will stick to their culture just like any other ethnicity would. A few years ago, I did see a middle eastern person vaping in there instead of using the hookah with his buddies.

Another question that arises is whether or not they will make vaporizers that look like hookahs with multiple pipes in order to be shared in a group, and if those would replace coal hookahs.

I think it would be pretty damn cool if someone made a "social" vape that is huge and has like eight coils in order to produce enough vapor for several people dragging at once.

They already have these, but they are pretty expensive as of now.

The cops don't care, nor does anyone else. I'm not even sure that having to be 18+ to smoke hookah in a hookah lounge is legally enforced. Just that they wish to have a "Professional" look about them.

The way I see it, no. I like to think that vaping appeals to a different demographic of people, first and foremost, those who want to quit smoking as well as those look and feel of a person all vaporizer. I'll be the first to admit, I'd rather have a sleek electronic device that I can carry in my pocket then a smoking tower (hookah) any day. Most people I know who smoke hookah don't care to quit smoking. Now, in my experience, which can be quit subjective those people usually buy a little cigalike at the gas station to "help them quit", but for the most part They'd still buy stinkies on a regular basis. Although in the future it it could be possible that vaping lounges will be as common as hookah bars. But all this is just my two cents.

How do you guys feel about a hookah made for vaping? Our company has made a mix-n-match ehookah that allows for people to fill 6 individual tanks of eliquid and selectively turn them on or off to mix 1, 2 or, 3 at a time!! We are looking for interest in this. Also would that bring hookah bars/lounges back? Tell us what you think!! Also visit www.ngensmoke.com for more details!! This actually sounds very interesting. You guys should definitely make a prototype and send some out for testing. I'm a coowner of a vape shop/hookah bar in my town and I think it would be a hit
