Need advice on my DIY liquid

Hi guys need abit of help on my liquids iv bought them from flavourart so i cant see what im doing wrong here i have posted a few threads but getting nowere on this. Iv kinda give up on fruits cuz i just cant get no taste from them iv been using as follow
70vg 30pg kanger sub mini with istick30w vaping at 20w
Strawberry 5%
Banana 7%
Ry4 nutzilla 10%
Double delight 7%
Tutti frutti 4%
Vapimms 4%
The trouble im having is when i up the percentage of the flavours i get a sting in the throat on exhale and its unbearable sting that i cant vape it so when i bring the percentage down i dont get the throat sting but im getting little to no taste in flavour whats the key here guys im doing somthing wrong here and i just cant figure it out and running dangerously low on liquid

Sounds like the kind of liquid you'd want to run out of. Accept it and move on.

Start with lower percentages then slowly work on up from there.
If you are using Flavor Art concentrates, starting low is the way to go!

I have tryed starting low the fruits is deffo a no go i cant get strawberry an banana to taste of anything no matter what the percentage is! Tutti frutti im vaping that now its stinging my throat bad so im guessing that means to much flavour?

Flavours are from fa uk yes and only 3mg nic so its deffo not that what is causing the tingle in the throat

Now vaping the double delight at 7% it seems nice good taste nice and smooth so finally happy with one im worried iv over done the ry4 nutzilla at 10% though will it get stronger as it steeps? Theres a small tingle in the throat on that one but not that bad maybe i should have that to 5%? Whats your thoughts plz? Thnx in advance

Hrm, flavor should be doing fine in that subtank mini, have you tried any test batches at 50/50 pg/vg or do you need to stay with higher VG ?

I prefer higher vg in this tank yeah as i get popping when i go 50/50

dont be offend but thats just way to much flavoring , If you are new to vaping or new to Flavor art it takes some time to get your taste buds back and adjusted. Even if you are just new to FA and not mixing it take some veteran mixers just a little time from adjusting from 20% recipes to 5% recipes. FA is a very light and delicate flavoring but also very strong. you need to train your brain also to start thinking about ingredients in half percents sometimes instead of 5+

nutzilla, double delight and vapimms are premixes by John over there kinda like we do at Mama Js. they are for the most part a ready to use flavoring. Ive talked to him about the similarities in his "DR WHO" and my "Rep Pep RD" and his mixing styles are very similar to mine so I know that those should be used probably around 5% as a standalone flavor and would probably recommend mixing them in complex recipes no more than a single % or so to start.

I asked about nicotine also because some nic just does not play well with FA fruits. a more clean nic regaurdless of mg will make FA fruits shine much better. that sting is from to much flavoring not the nicotine.

try this

Strawberry 3%
Banana 3%
Ry4 nutzilla .5%
Double delight .5%
Tutti frutti .5%
Vapimms .5%

good luck ! I hope you get it figured out. FA fruits are very true to life also so if you are looking to get candy ish type flavors and very in your face sweet you might need some other flavors to kinda boost or tweek those FA flavors. strawberry and banana both are light and frustrating to some to work with. Hope that helps a little

Thnx for your reply no im not offended from that and iv been vaping for a wile now but new to diy my missis dont smoke and i got her to try the strawberry and banana at low and high percentage and she couldnt taste it either :/

Double delight seems good taste and smooth at 7% ry4 nutzilla is ok but slight tingle on throat at 10% should i double this and make it 5% do you think? Also will they get stonger once steeped

I do think you should double it and let it steep a day or 2. strawberry and banana are like that, people either love it or hate it. they are just light and those other flavors im sure just over power them a lot. you will find the right balance soon im sure though

RY4 does get better with age. Im more of a shake and vaper because I have no patience lol but ya 2 weeks would be perfect

Ok thnx you have been great help but im pretty sure them percentage on the fruit wont work for me for some reason and i noticed you said that tutti frutti and vapimms do 5% there at 4% now and giving me a bad sting in the throat!

I like tutti frutti standalone at 2% in this recipe to bump that banana up 0.25 or .0.5% should be plenty. never tried or heard of vapimms, I was just assuming knowing where its coming from

Tutti Fruitti is a tough one as a mixer. Really good on it's own. Wllmc gave you some great suggestions, especially with lowering the %. Be sure to shake, shake, shake those flavorings before you mix with them.

Ye he gave some great advice i know what he is saying about percentage but iv teyed strawberry and banana at 2% and 3% and i cant get no taste! I guess fruits just dont work for me witch is a shame cuz i love strawberry and banana and ye i put in hottish water for 30mins then stick on my cake mixer works well lol

LOL, now I get it about the flavors. I have trouble with Banana, too, but not Strawberry. When I say shake your flavorings, I mean BEFORE using them in a mix. Shake each individual bottle before you add it to your bottle (or whatever you mix into). And of course, shake the final mix.

Oh yes i do that also lol what mix do you use banana and strawberry from fa? Maye my vg% vg is the reason

I've only had success with Banana ONCE and that was from one of HIC's mixes. Banana Pudding. Strawberry, I use in recipes I'ves seen here in the forum. It's not one that I grab to create with. I'm a cookie person, lol.

Ahh yeah fruits seem a pain on there own unless you use recipes i guess to make them shine abit! Think il put them to side once iv got 5-6 good flavours i like i then start trying recipes at the moment iv got heisenburg pinkman double delight seem to be working just need to drop percentage abit on next batch and ry4 nutzilla so 4 iv got good now few more togo! Maybe try tutti frutti at 2% tonight see how that works

Quick question guys!
I understand that vg dont carry flavours aswel as pg but if steeped correctly and left long enough for the flavours to get sucked up by the vg would it eventually be just as good as a higher pg mix?
Reason for asking cuz if the strawberry dont taste at 3% maybe leaving it to steep for a week it will get to were it needs to be?

Many max VG DIYers get the full flavor with max VG, just a bit sweeter because of it.

Have you recently quit smoking? I ask because taste buds improve over time. I'm still getting better taste in things I thought were good even nearly 2 years later.

Iv quit smoking for about a month now have a couple cigs when iv had to meany drinks tho lol but deffo not my taste buds cuz i get the missis to try it when im getting no taste and she says the same and she dont smoke
So does that mean steeping will get the flavours to how a pg mix will be?
Iv read that people using higher percentages of flavour when having higher vg mixes but that seem impossible todo with fa flavours cuz it starts stinging ya throat with to much flavour im not sure if thats the same for all companies but fa seems to for me

I suppose it could be the PG in the flavorings that sting at higher %. I know HIC uses max VG and does very well with low %. Lower than many, actually.

Yh i guess i was close to giving up but i need a selection lol and its not the pg as its a different throat hit to this i can handle high pg i somtimes vape 80pg from tjuice on my aspire mini and yeah how does he do it lolguess il have to just leave them for a week and see whAt happens untill then guess il carry on vaping poopy flavours lol

Yeah id rather be abit over then under lol i figured its 7% for every 3.5ml 3.5 x 7 = 24.5? So double 3.5 is 7 so 7ml to 25 would bring that to 5%? Im poop at maths im surprised i even come up with that lol

Never mind il keep double delight at 7% slight tingle from over flavouring but i can cope with that one il do 5% on that when that have gone iv now done 30ml ry4nutzilla at 5% tutti frutti at 2% and vapimms at 3% lets hope i got it right this time il give them a vape in a weeks time i guess

Does anyone here have any experience with tjuice concentrates? There diluted flavours are the best on my aspire mini but that 80pg 20vg im wondering if they would work on 70vg?

When I made my strawberry standalone I did it at 3% and I find it great shake and vape I find it tones down with steeping. When I did it with joy I did 2% strawberry and 2% joy and then the strawberry tastes better with steeping just my opinion. But I find the banana strong at 2% standalone. I made a strawberry custard 3% strawberry 2% custard and at first couldn't taste the strawberry but now after 2 weeks steep it's coming through.

I hope you havnt been put off flavour art I think they are great you just gotta get your mixing right I think anything over 5% wont make a difference taste wise.

I have abit yeah but im staying with them cuz its my first time on this kinda diy its just getting it right i think
Mid week i will make some more strawberry at 3% and vape it through the day not just a few vapes then stop maybe i need to vape onit all day to get a feel for it what pb and vg ratio are you using and wattage?

I do different ratios for different attys 100% vg well prob 98% vg for drippers and 80 vg 20 pg for my lemo 2 my nic is vg based 72 mg from vampire vapes that's the only thing I like off them.

Yeah i use vampire vapes vg and pg aswell i also use there nic aswell 72 vg bass i do love there heisenburg at 20% gives me lovly flavour there pinkman is nice aswell just abit weak though even at 20%
