18650 Recomendation

I would just like to know what the community here thinks is the best performing 18650 battery for sub-ohm vaping when using a mech mod or a box mod. Feel free to chime in with more than one brand if you would like. Thank you in advance.

IMO there are a quite a number of quality batteries out there. As for ones that you can actually find anymore.....Sony VTC4 and MXJO are my favourites. The LG and Samsungs are also good....but I would recommend staying with the ones I just mentioned as they are tried and true. It is commonly held that anything with "Fire" in the name should be avoided. I would recommend also posting in the Battery Junkies sub-forum for more responses.

Depends really what you need the battery for.

If you want to subohm down to .3 or moore you need a true 30amp battery.

If you have a i stick and using a protank or a nautilus you dont need a top of the line battery to get performance.

Most any battery from a non battery manufacturing company like efest and Orbtronic are re wrapped batteries from samsung, panasonic, sony,LG etc...

The sony vtc series are pretty well known to be performers but they are getting hard to find now..Ones you might find on ebay or amazon are probably not going to be authentic batteries and i wouldnt take the chance with them.

You can still find vtc4's however from some trusted websites....they are 30 amps but only 2100mah.

If you arent doing anything super sub ohm pick up some Samsung 25r or LG HE2 batteries...both are 20 amps and are good for .5 ohm easily.

E-FEST Purple 2500's are decent batteries also...you just pay more for the efest name but they are re wrapped LG HE2 batteries which you can find cheaper.

I was fortunate enough to get authentic sony vtc5's but ive been using an efest purple 2500 also and find its working just as good as the the sonys...You dont need 30 amps unless you are doing extreme sub ohm.

So you know, the efest purple 2500 says its 35 amps but thats only a burst rating..they are a 20 amp battery...So dont buy it thinking you can extreme sub ohm with it.

How about LG HE2? Seems to get solid reviews.

Decent 20 amp batteries...low cost as well...for less than 1 dollar more just pick up some Samsung 25R's and be done..also 20 amp batteries.

Like i said...its 6 amp max..maybe a burst of 20....not an acceptable mod battery...its a great flashlight battery though.
They seem to have worked well so far but new batteries I get I will try your suggestion.

You may not be using enough power for the 3100 to give you an issue...What device and tank do you use and with what ohms..how many volts or watts?...If you use 7 watts or 4 volts with a basic clearomizer it may not be an issue for you but its basic safety to use a minimum of a true 20 amp battery unless more is required.

If you like efest get the purple 2500 35 amp models..those are LG HE2 battery cells...But you can buy the LG HE2 battery for around 3 to 4 dollars less...The 35 amp rating is again a burst rating but they are a true 20 amp battery...i have one of them myself i use along with 2 samsungs and 2 sony VTC's

Lately I have been using the Kbox at 25 watts with a Subtank 0.5 ohm

You are then using 7 amps of battery current to power a .5 ohm coil at 25 watts.

I just got 2 35amp High Voltage batteries from CSVape and they're GREAT .15 OHM build on my mech and it runs great.

And I have 2 MXJO 35 amps and 2 AWT 40 amps are my other goto batteries. (Also work great for sub-ohm builds)

I was hesitant at first, but for the price you can't beat PVTSO batteries. I started with the 25A, 2100mAh, then upgraded to the 38A, 2100mAh, and now I'm on to the 35A, 2800mAh. Great battery life, and more than enough headroom on the amp limit.

I like shiny stickers...Nothing like adding 20 more horsepower to your car with brand new shiny racing stickers on it.

I use the Samsung R25 in my Hells Gate and I run .12 constantly with no issue and long battery life

Not unless I constantly vape for a good while but any battery will get warm with that kind of abuse.
