I was just told to vape somewhere else

I was on the smoking patio vaping mt. Baker blue moo and a smoker told me to go "huff that stuff somewhere else," By a cigarette smoker. He said it smelled horrible and not to vape that flavor ever again. Really? I am very thin skinned and felt like crap after. This is gonna eat at me the rest of the day.

Contrary to the "perfumed essence" he was blowing in your space.....you had as much right to be there as he did, tell him to blow it out his arse...better yet, where are you? I'm a thick-skinned ol' broad who doesn't care to put anyone in their place, don't make me come down there! :D

I'm a recent reformed a-hole who has found Jesus and have decided to just let things go but still hurts in my heart. I used to go off on people like that and had a bad temper (thin skinned) but now I just sit and take it. But I had to vent to someone other wise if I keep it bottled up I might blow up and do something to get me fired. I have a lot of baggage and can not afford to blow up on anyone right now (that leads to why I have found Jesus). I'm in legal trouble with weapons charges right now. So no need to add to the flam I have going on right now.

Personally I would have told him to fuck off. But that's me. I usually tell at least one smoker to go fuck themselves every day. Its sad though I used to be one but I get tired of co-workers attempting to get me to smoke instead of vape. you know, because "the FDA hasn't approved it." and other such lame ass excuses.

Funny thing is, the FDA did approve cigarettes, which when used as directed are known to kill the user. Of course that is true about half of the other garbage the FDA has approved.

Completely understandable, my friend, and I applaud you on your life changes. :) I've shaken the dirt from my feet and taken guff for the same reason and others on too many occasions to count. But you can also defend yourself in the name of Jesus and walk away clean. I do respect your actions for the reasons you mentioned though.

Thank you I have walked away from so many confrontations recently that would normally make me question my manhood but feel I made the right choices. Jesus loves me and wouldn't steer me in the wrong direction. Btw next week is my court hearing and I am praying for mercy from the court. And promised to be a good boy if God would save me from my legal troubles. It is looking good so it looks like a life living for God from now on. Thank you for your support.

Sometimes, silence can be as effective as confrontation.
Internal peace and satisfaction is a difficult journey. Outside influences like him will always be there.
Good luck with your problems.

Thank you. I just can't understand how vaping can smell worse than a cigarette. I was and am confused as well as hurt that I was told to leave. Maybe I'll just take my breaks in my car.

lol, I was thinking the same. Since I quit smoking my smell has improved greatly. I detect fragrances walking into a room that I haven't smelled in 20 years.

It can't but then again this guy probably doesn't have much of a sense of smell anyway and was just looking for something to complain about. I get that all the time...restaurant work is the pits sometimes.

this guy just hates his life and has to pass that hate on where ever he can, i would have just smiled and said fuck off
He is known to hate a lot of stuff pretty negative personality in general and tries to make everyone else's life just as miserable or bring people down to his level. But he is pretty high on the totem pole at work so I bite my tongue and went on with my day and held in my vape for a second as to not "bother" the smoker with my vaping.

gotcha, power dynamics. well then just a smile would have worked for me, nothing people like that hate more than genuine happiness in the face of someone trying to spread misery

I think you did the best thing just walking away. I too am quick tempered and over the years I have finally developed my life mantra : Consider the Source.
As far as vaping goes, I work with mostly non-smokers. They never harrassed me over the years that I have smoked cigars, but usually when I tell someone at my office about vaping they argue that I am still inhaling a witch's brew of toxins. Once I explain to them that the two key ingredients are vegetable glycerin and proplyene glycol which is used in breathing inhalers, they become interested in hearing about it. I guess I am lucky to be working with open minded people.

Incredibly lucky. But I find that the younger people I work with that smoke are slightly more inclined to be interested in what I have to say about vaping than the older people. Of course that could be generational, or it could just be that those set in their ways are usually unwilling to change them.

That said, I've yet to get one to actually try vaping though I did offer one my old ego twist and two t-3s for free (with replacement coils). It is like they are on the fence about it. Damn fear mongering antz.

While I do admire your control, you do have as much right as Mr. Jerk does to vape in the smoking area.

Just go ahead and vape and if he continues to be a dick about it, report the jerk to HR.

Unfortunately a lot of smokers view vaping as evil and causes pneumonia. Some smokers I've talked to said vaping just makes them cough, that is something I do more depending on the nic level or that particular juice, not as bad as when I first started tho. Being the bigger person is always hard. Glad you were able to step away from the situation and maybe gained some perspective that some people are just born in misery and like to be miserable with others.

May I suggest that since you are going to take the high road and not respond to this Asshat, that you borrow my Spirit Animal and keep this image firmly planted in your brain the next time you see the jackass.

Die hard smokers are more against us than nonsmokers is what I'm starting to put together.

Next time tell him his mama doesn't mind your vaper smells and clouds in her bed. Then run like hell if you feel you need to. :D

Nothing to do but let it go. I have an uncle who was a 2 pack a day smoker for 30 years who quit due to health reasons. Instead he started chewing tobacco. I was still a smoker at the time and have a "to each his own" mentality, but I do remember vividly the day he told me that my cigarette was a "filthy habit" as he walked around holding a Styrofoam cup of his own cherry scented spit. I just laughed at him. Luckily he is family so if I really wanted I could have told him to fuck off and we'd be best friends again 3 minutes later, but it was so silly I couldn't even bring myself to get upset. He did stop saying anything when I guessed his chew flavor from 15 feet away once because of the disgusting smell. We just agreed that we both had gross habits and moved on :)

Time to break out the biggest cloud chasing set up you have and go back for a vape.

Who ever said vaping causes pneumonia is full of shit. I have had pneumonia over a dozen times before I started vaping and I have been vaping for a little over 4 years and haven't had pneumonia since I have been vaping.
