AW's vs Samsung 25r for price

So I'm newish to vaping and am currently using Samsung 25r's and haven't had any problems with them but have heard really good things about AW's (actually haven't read even one bad thing about them). So my question is: are the AW's worth the extra money, only reputable site I found AW 2200 they wanted $12.xx a piece where I'm paying around $5.xx for authentic samsung 25r's. I'm currently using mech mods with RDA's from .2-.4 ohms but am getting a sigelei 150 soon and am also wondering if maybe the samsung 25r's won't be enough for the sigelei. Thanks in advance!

Stick with the Samsungs (or LG he2/4). No need to pay that kind of premium for AW's IMO.

They are both 20A batteries with a slight edge to the Sammy in mAh. If the 25R isn't enough then the AW isn't the solution. AW by the way is not a manufacturer but rather a rewrapper. Their claim to fame is only using first bin batteries from the major manufacturers under those AW wraps.

those first bin batteries are good stuff though. id stick to 25r myself, battery life and built in protection is unrivaled

I totally missed that, I was looking at so many fake AW's that were claiming 30A I missed the fact that the authentic ones were only 20. So thats why theres so much hype around the VTC4's?......makes sense. Thanks everyone for the input, I just ordered a new batch of 25r's

Until the VCT5s come back, I am a Samsung dude.

Agreed, but pricey. I bought 4 AW 350's from RTDVapes a year and a half ago or so then probably 5 months later picked up some Purple Efest 350's. All four of the AW's are still in service while I'm down to two of the Efest so I guess it balances out.

I will stick with the Samsung too. The price point is just too high on the AW's.

AW was good as a trusted source for quality batteries back in the "xxxxFire" days - now, with the known qualities of Samsung and LG I see no reason to pay extra, as long as you're buying your Sammies from a reliable source.

The 18350 AW's are the only one's I own. I just didn't want to bash them. Last 18650's I bought were the 25R's.

Considering that they're just rewrapping cells manufactured by others, I kinda doubt that.

Personally, I prefer IMR cells. Never purchased or owned anything else. To me, INR stands for "I not recommend" and ICR stands for "I can't recommend". Not saying there is anything wrong with them, but if something does go wrong. BOOM! IMR is the safest chemistry in my opinion and I will continue to only use that chemistry cell.

I have vaped on and used many other cells in my 3 years of vaping but never used anything but IMR in my devices. Other's may hit hard and work well but if there is a short, WATCH OUT! Thermal runaway and venting/explosion happens much more frequently and much faster with those chemistries.

IMR also last WAY longer in the long run. I have sony's that are over a year and a half old, cycled 400-500+ times that still hit just as hard and last just as long as new...

Ironically, Sonys aren't IMR. They're a hybrid (NiMnCo) chemistry battery. They're as safe as an lMR, but can be discharged like an ICR while having a good capacity and holding up better over the course of their lives.

Putting the price aside, AWs are more likely to be fakes.
Likely true since there's more profit in faking the more expensive cell although I'm hearing more about fake Samsungs lately. Most important with any cell is a reliable vendor.

INR is actually just as safe or safer than IMR.

You are however correct about ICR, those should be used with protection circuits only.

To answer the OP, personally I would go with the Samsungs. AWs may last a little longer but you can buy two samsungs for the price of one AW.
