I got an authentic kayfun v4 today my very first authentic bit of kit. And was very excited to put it through its paces.I normally drip on either my zenith.plume veil.or little boy attys but wanted a nice tank I already have a subtank nano but wanted something bit bigger but not the subtank mini.so today my girlfriend got me the kayfun as an early birthday present. So I excitedly opened the box gave it all a wash in soapy water rinsed all the parts and dried them put a 1.3 ohm coil in it and wicked it. Put it all together oh yea I saturated the wick first lol filled it with some home made Cherry coke and took a nice long pull and I was gutted the airflow is crap. Is there any way of making it better.iv adjusted it wide open and it's like when I first started vaping on clearomisers.or am I just used to the airflow on drippers.plz help.

i have no experience 1st hand w/the kayfun v4, but from what i understand they just don't have the airflow of many of the other rta's that are out. (orchid, goblin, silverplay, fogger, etc.)

you may be able to drill it out, but i'm not too sure how you would go about it. if you want dripper airflow i would look into some of the rta's i listed as they provide great airflow. benefits of the orchid/silverplay are that they are compatible w/the kayfun tanks & chimney toppers for the most part.

lots of info here about modifying the orchid for even more airflow - http://vapingunderground.com/threads/orchid-modification-thread.20819/

S-kit might be a good solution.

take the whole KF tank evaporation chamber top cap lock ring and drip tip and install it on the orchid base. no need for extra o-rings. shame you had to buy an authentic KF just to find out they suck (for some people)

I have heard of some folks using a drill to open up the air holes.

Sorry, thats all I got.

Or you could buy a Lemo 2 and be set for life.

Not going to drill it at the moment haven't got the heart to do it. Saw an s kit on eBay for a few quid which has better airflow and peak insulator so I would be able to go lower ohm if I wanted has any one tried the s kit and if so has it made much difference.

i don't know about the authentic sub ohm kit but I have heard the clones aren't worth the trouble. Just swap over the tank to your orchid base and be done.

Ok just finishing whats in my orchid now haven't used it for a while forgot how good it is.might just carry on using my orchid as is and put my kayfun on my vape stand to add to the collection. My only authentic and I'm gutted.

Are you looking to get a wide open. airy draw on the KF4 so you can do direct lung inhales? Also, wanted to ask if you had already fiddled around with the adjustable airflow settings at the base yet.

you will love the orchid more with the kayfun evaporation chamber and tank. I don't have the tank yet but I have a few evaporation chambers.

Did you just take out that little airflow screw altogether? I did hear that the subohm kit gives better airflow. But at that price (for the original) you're probaby better off selling it!

I'm used to dripping now so I like the airy draw and lung inhales and it just isn't happening with the standard setup and yes iv tried the airflow adjustment at the base thought I was doing something wrong but closed it all way off by sucking and tightening screw and then opening until it doesn't get better should have asked everyone yesterday what they thought of the kayfun v4 wouldn't be in this mess now.

not in a mess, you already have it, just use the parts I just told someone yesterday that the "new" kayfun V4 is just as bad as the first kayfun.

Nice little collection you have got there I'm going to have to leave it couple days till I start tinkering if the missus sees me messing with something she has bought me she will tear me a new ass lol.

there is no tinkering, just unscrew the tank with the evaporation chamber installed and screw it on to the orchid base. takes all of 5 seconds to do.

$70 is real low, i know people out there that pay near full price just out of pride to say that authentic kayfuns hold their value. kayfun groups etc. whats the saying, its worth what youll pay for it lol

if you dont want to sell it though i agree the parts are useful, but can be attained much cheaper

Will it be ok if I remove the air flow screw completely.?

You wasn't kidding I'm now vaping on a mix breed kayfun cross with an orchid yay seems to taste better is that because of the chimney.

what are you talking about? there is no airflow screw on the orchid base. if you are trying to salvage what you have without swapping parts you are in for a disappointment. if you don't want to swap the base over, shelf it and don't think about it again.

It's a completely different vaping experience. If you're not open to learning a different style of vaping, you'd be better off selling it (not trying to be a jackass, just offering an opinion). I have drippers, RTAs, Kayfuns. Each is different and I enjoy the variety.

No cig

Just woke up and thought I'd try your idea and wow loads of difference not as good as my subtank but really better thanks didn't think I could remove the screw completely.

I only found that out by accident, because mine backed out so much it was preventing a good connection - so I just took it out! I like both this and the subtank for different reasons. The Kayfun runs much cooler at the same resistance, which brings out different flavors.
