My understanding is most liquid nicotine used for Nicotine solution comes from China or England. Isn't there enough demand with US Vapers for a company to extract nicotine from tobacco here with US grown tobacco

The good stuff comes from India.. and there is at least one I know of that says they are extracting..
maybe more..

states on their site:

Our nicotine extract is 100% U.S.A made, and is derived from handpicked tobacco leaves grown in North Carolina.

but there is another company I was thinking on, let me see if I can find it..

When you get big enough, you fall under the BATF (now homeland security) jurisdiction. Growing tobacco isn't illegal, nor is making extracts, however transporting extracts across state lines falls in to a gray legal area where the feds like to make up the rules as they go, along with a myriad of state laws and statutes. When you import nic to your states, you import it and are contributing to international commerce if that makes sense.

and just because a website says they are extracting the nic.. there is really no proof unless it is seen.
Anyone can cut nic.. but I have learned, unless I see it, I can't believe it.

Yes made is a tricky vague word :) . Doctors and scientists are different than politicians and lawyers. They use lots of big words to be precise instead of weasels.

I was thinking a Big US plant Buying The Tobacco from US Tobacco Farmers-with Federal Licensing? Could get US Tobacco Growers on our side. Or Does China Import tobacco or grow their own ?

I'm sure they grow their own from all the inawera flavorings I read about. Still haven't tackled my 20 FAs so haven't bothered branching out. And probably shouldn't until I've been tobacco free for a longer time.

It is my understanding that one of the few FDA approved nicotine extraction facilities is actually in India. The facility does multiple plant extracts one of which is nicotine. I think it is Alchem or something like that (for what it's worth). I would guess getting FDA examined /approved is a non-trivial process from a time and money perspective so doing more than nicotine could potentially help offset those costs.

A lot of good points have been made, but $$$$ has been forgotten. Big Pharma make most of their drugs in foreign countries, India being a prevalent one. It's a lot cheaper to staff a nicotine manufacturing facility there, than in the U.S. Doesn't surprise me one bit. And different nicotine having a different throat hit, or strength compared to another brand makes sense, too. Generic drugs have to have the same amount of active ingredient, but are allowed a +- of 20% in bioavailability. That's what actually matters, a brand change could effectively cut 30% of the effects away. Yet another reason the FDA is a joke, and doesn't have our interests at heart.

Like everything else, if you do it in the US it will cost more, a lot more.
