Okay I'm gonna pull the trigger…

Gonna order from Vaperstek.. Get the nic and VG from them. I am going to get as close to zero PG as possible. I have me a bit of a PG intolerance when it comes to vaping.

So I figured since I was getting the VG and NIC from them I'd pick up a couple flavors from them as well. Anything you all can recommend from them?

Really looking for a solid set of flavors to start with. Going for 5 to 6 flavors. I do not want to get any tobacco flavors. I stopped smoking on purpose and don't want any reminders of it..

Thanks for any help you can give!!

Welcome to the wonderful, wild & wacky world of DIY! :) Not sure where you will be looking for recipes, but if you mostly look at the ones on this forum, you might want to go to purevapes.com and get some samples of Flavourart. I was always a TFA & Capellas mixer (and still have my favs there), but some of the recipes that HIC and wllamc are posting with the Flavourart flavors are AMAZING. Good luck in your journey and remember...SMALL SAMPLES FIRST! LOL That advice will save you LOTS of cash while you are deciding what you like!

Nice recommendation, SoulShine (love the name!). I couldn't agree more with the sample sized bottles from Pure Vapes or from Bull City. FlavourArt is EXCELLENT. Very concentrated, so you don't need much at all. Keep in mind, whatever you choose, most flavorings are in a PG base. You can find some that are VG, as well. @RocketPuppy can tell you where, no doubt! She's awesome at that stuff.

I started out by reading recipes that I thought I'd like, then ordered from those vendors... FlavourArt (FA), The Flavor Apprentice (TFA), Capella's (Caps) and Inawera (INW).

@HeadInClouds has some excellent recipes posted here, as does @wllmc . I learned a lot from those 2. Also, from @we2rcool about everything in between. Just some fun, funny, and very likable people, always willing to help with any questions.

You've found a wealth of information right at your fingertips! Good luck :)

Vaperstek carries Inawera flavors only. If you don't want tobaccos, I would try their fruits that can go together or standalone. I would definitely get a cherry, either Wisnia which is like cherry pie filling, or CZERSNIE, which is sweet cherry (and not cough drop like at all). I would get Wera Gardens Watermelon - it's authentic fruit, not candy-like. Maybe get MORELE or Apricot. If you like coconut, try the Coconut K or Koncentrate. If you like chocolate at all, get the Chocolate Cream. It's very good and pairs well with many fruits. They also have good mints, if you like mint paired with fruit. If you like Pear, their GRUSKA is also good. MIOD or their Honey is very good, mixed nicely with fruits for a smooth, sweetness. I personally haven't tried their peaches or strawberries. If you get vanilla get WANILLA.

One suggestion. As you start buying flavors, consider building a "pantry". If you have ever cooked, you know that many recipes include flour, milk, eggs, baking powder, salt, sugar, etc. These are your pantry items. When you run low, you buy more, whether you need it or not. Consider starting out with a few pantry flavors. Marshmallow, a cream or two, brown sugar, a liquor flavor, vanilla, etc. get used in a lot of recipes. Maybe think about buying one or two of these flavors each time you order stuff, to build up your pantry.

That's how I started - by following specific recipes I wanted to try. Then, I wanted to build my pantry, as jgoss is saying. Inawera doesn't have a cream or an equivalent to a brown sugar, I don't think. Liquor flavors are used and wanted more than you will realize at first. I would pick up 1 or 2 within your first few purchases. And, you will make more than a few purchases, most likely. I have a lot of flavors and make purchases regularly, both to restock what I use often and to expand my flavor stock. Whatever you like to vape now in pre-made commercial juice, just start in that area. But, Jgoss is right - it's a pantry and you will need basic items to work with.

Great suggestion jgoss.

It's kinda weird, too. A lot of flavors I don't necessarily like, but do in vapes... coconut! Fluffy, creamy, lot o'vapor. And "seasonings" for the pantry. I have brown sugar (TFA), Anise (FA), Cinnamon Ceylon (FA) just ordered Cardamom (FA). Some flavors you just need to make others >pop<. Nut flavors even help with that. It's crazy. My staples are Vanilla Classic, Cookie and Nut Mix. I have large bottles of those. It's FUN! It can be costly and time consuming and there is so much to learn out there. But I'm having a blast with it, too. And I've "met" some really awesome people.

Don't get overwhelmed. The first mix, I was crazy. They're yumms.

Ah crap… LOL!!!

Wanted to one stop shop but it looks like I have some figuring to do. Ok I'm going to look into the flavorings. Seems that is where I am lacking in knowledge and planning.

Thanks very much for the feedback all. I'm going to go through each post and see what I can learn from all you great folks. I'll keep ya posted on what I end up doing..

Good news is I have a little time this weekend to figure all this out and get a game plan.

Thanks again!!
