Its called 'Scram'

A SCRAM mechanism is designed to release the control rods from those motors and allows their weight and the spring to drive them into the reactor core, in four seconds or less, thus rapidly halting the nuclear reaction by absorbing liberated neutrons.

Well I'm no nuclear scientists but I think, as you pointed out, Fukashima showed us how efficient that system is, now imagine a thousand nuke plants all over the world failing. Just saying.

Another thing Walking Dead ignores is all the corpses that would be around. Yeah they have a lot of corpses here and there, but in reality there would be millions and millions of them, like all over the place, or else millions and millions of zombies.

it's make-believe. suspend anal retentive attention to detail and enjoy the proceedings. :p

I'm still on season 3, maybe this has been explained and i missed it but why don't the humans turn zombie when they get zombie blood on them or in their eye or whatever? It's just zombie saliva?

And why don't they ever watch the road when they're driving and then either crash or run into a pack of zombies walking down the street that they somehow didn't see?

Because TeeVee.

Ah, you've noticed one of the great reoccurring hilarities of the show. Don't worry, there's plenty more car crashes coming.

Why every time they find a compound of people it ends up being run by psychopaths that they go to war with?

Because human conflict is more interesting overall and zombie kills are just entertaining filler to keep the story lines from bogging down?

Looking forward to see what happens this Sunday and hoping the mid-season premiere starts with a bang, continuing the trend despite the histrionic previews revealed over the recent loss before the hiatus.

Who's excited for tonight!?

My friends (married couple) who usually join me can't come, he has to work and she feels bad for watching without him.

Fuck that, am I a bad friend? Because I'm totally watching. For one thing, I've waited long enough for a new episode! And for another thing, I don't feel like avoiding all social media and/or regular media in case people are giving spoilers. Seriously you pretty much have to live in a bunker to avoid that shit and if you stumble onto it and get pissed off, it's your own fault for not hiding from it. :p

Noooo, not Tyeese!

Who's gonna babysit now??????

Eh, he was pretty disposable as far as central characters go.
Plus they brought on a new black guy, with the exception of having Bob and Tyreese on at the same time for so long, rarely do we get two black dudes hanging around. :p Sad, but it's true.

I liked the trippiness of all the past people talking to him from the great beyond.
Plus right up to the last minutes, there was that "Will he make it, or won't he?" suspense.

Solid episode.

I know that when they move into a new area they always look for places that have canned food and the like.

Why don't they ever go into clothing stores and get some clean clothes?

Well howdy doody to you miss bossy pants.
I'm jussayin'. It's a thread to discuss a show. I even said in the first post, "READ AT YOUR OWN RISK".
We're all supposed to NOT discuss anything, in case someone hasn't watched? I think that'd be a pretty fucking boring thread. :)

Last night? Shiiiiiiit...I watched all weekend. I love it when they have the marathons leading up to a new episode. Best show ever! I guess if someone had to go...Tyreese was a good choice. Carol and Darrel are still my favorite characters. :D
One thing...was it me or did anyone else notice an increase in commercial time? They just about wore me slick! Like watching Big Bang real time. o_O

I was just cracking wise, take a chill pill. Of course I didn't expect everyone to stop talking just because I hadn't seen it yet.

By the way, that was a long drawn out death scene in my opinion. When is Z-Nation coming back on. They would have that guy dead in like five seconds flat.

Well, some of us were wondering if he was going to make it or not. That and do ghosts still keep on growing up?

So let's recap.

First black character dies because he's with a white woman.

Second black character is gunned down by the military / police.

Third black character dies as a result of black on black violence.

Wanna bet Noah gets shot by the Neighborhood Watch Commander?

Well, I'm guessing Noah will be fine unless Morgan joins up with the group, messing up the tricky chemistry of having too many blacks on the show. :)

Guide for people of color to stay alive on Walking Dead: All they have to do is carry a Samurai sword. What part of that haven't they figured out yet.

I was just talking to a friend about the cast of characters.

Very diversified group.

Blacks and Whites.............Check.
Men and Women...............Check
Oriental..............................Check
Kid.....................................Check
Baby..................................Check
Half Crazy Idiot-Savant.....Check
Minister..............................Check
Army Dude........................Check

Near as we can figure, based on the many things on TV today.

The only character they are missing is a really over the top Gay Guy with fashion sense and the only one of the group (besides the baby) with clean cloths!

And while I am at it, a fully nunerized Catholic Nun (mother superior type preferred) with a double bladed Ax would be nice as well.

Or even a wooden ruler (in case you went to Catholic School back in the day)?

I got so pissed off about how Beth died after they told Maggie she was still alive - I almost kicked my TV.

Glad Morgan's back, I think he's going to catch up and join the group but I feel like someone else is going to die soon, maybe Glen...?

As long as there's Noah and the preacher, I guess there's still a struggle to settle on the token black. However, if the show gets muddled in drama, building up to a big finale, everybody could be safe for a while ...

With all the crazy weather .. a nice blizzard scene with walkers stuck in the snow "easy kills" would be visually cool :)

Yes. What was the question?

Dunno ... didn't like the episode at all. And I'm not counting dead black folk. I just think there was too much artsy and too much fartsy for a return from a mid season break.

It's like the writers picked now to realize they've written themselves into a corner and hired a director who promised to keep us entertained with artsy fartsy shit. It played too much like a series finale ... I hope they realize it's bad luck to end a series the same year SOA ends.

I thought it was kind of bloopie because they took way to long to chop his arm off......there was no way he was going to survive it. I would have preferred seeing him as a walker...I really thought he should have killed himself but I guess that would have been out of his personality. Yeah, I agree, not written perfect

As far as the writing went, I thought the ramblings might have been written by Sarah Palin.

But, they gave him a good chunk of the show to send him off and brought back a few old characters. :)

At least they won't have a marathon this weekend so I can get something else done other than the little quick things at commercials. :D

I see, perhaps, things are about to change . All these characters are getting killed off ,and didn't one of them say they cant go on like this , and they need to settle someplace .
