Know what our conservative party is called?

The Liberal party of Australia

Know what their supporters get called?

Always does my head in that you use that term for the progressive left

Hard to tell if you’re a right winger, or a left swinger, but you did “blackout “ on Tuesday.
Love you anyway

We have local council elections this year

They are every 4 years, fixed term. But separate terms to both state and federal

Last time was postal vote. We don't get much information, including any ties to state or federal parties

We got a sheet, with about 1 paragraph on each candidate

One guy stated that he is committed to hard garbage collection. That's all he said

No other candidates mentioned hard garbage collection. So I voted for him

Apparently most people did

Later found out that hard garbage was never in doubt by anybody. He just implied it subtly

Not voting in a federal election is a 30 dollar fine. Not voting in local elections is 70 dollars

Seriously?
I can’t leave y’all alone for a day without it going downhill.
You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Get your minds out of the gutter.

Before you get hit by a gutter ball.

did I do that right?

i think australia needs a groundhog, or some woolie worms, or *something* to at least pretend we can predict length of winter

we do have autumn leaves. They were late this year, which is meant to be "short but bitter winter" and so far it does seem bitter, in a sunny way

Clearance is cleared from stoppage BTW. Ruck (tall guy) jumps up against opponents ruck and taps ball to midfield. Baz Smith is a mid and clearance means that he kicked or handballed the ball away from the congestion and into space, usually but not always gaining a bit of meters /yards towards our goal

in more positive news, young smith's mullet is coming along nicely

A timeless hair style.
It’s always shocked me that you don’t see more corporate bigwigs or political heavyweights with a mullet.
Business in the front and party in the back appeals to everyone.
