I watched a Hai Haze video where he was shorting those mods out on purpose looking for sparks. I thought to myself who the hell does that? He put a screwdriver on the 510 pin and the threading at the same time while trying to fire it. I dunno... If it had any problems for normal users we'd have heard about it. I know a lot of people liked their Serius mod or whatever. The Lyra looks good to me. I might pick one up.
I saw that dopey review :D All I know is I've had mine for over a year and used it well enough for some goofy defect to show up and like you said, outside of that video, I have never heard of it anywhere else.

It took just over 3 years for it to happen; I had my first dropped tank breakage today.

Poor Digiflavor Bucho tank never stood a chance. I stepped out of the car with it in my lap and right to the pavement. It might have survived a drop from the Lumina but the height difference from Left Brain's XTerra was too much, but it went out like a champ by taking the full blow of the impact thus saving the life of the Joyetech Elitar mod.

So, the reason I post this here is, just as a word of advice.....
When a web site has a tank that is in your preferred coil family for a ridiculously low price ($2.50), ALWAYS buy 2.

I did that last year in a Wal-Mart parking lot. I couldn't believe my tanks glass didn't shatter though. It was a white colored Smok Alien and white colored Baby V2 tank. I got mad, they weren't supposed to make the trip but I brought them anyways.

Both my Smoant Cylon and Naboo mods took similar drops prior to that and have scars. Their buddies didn't make it...

I usually always get at least two of the tanks I really like. Sometimes I just buy them when they're on clearance and find out I like them later :D. The ones I know that have like one of a kind coils, I usually stay away from. But if I can find them coils dirt cheap, it makes me a little more susceptible.

I stopped using tanks altogether because I couldnt stop gravity. Gravity made me its bitch, so I stick with rdas.
Makes me sad, because I used to really like my rtas. I had an rta collection to drool over.

Didn’t you have a mod survive overnight on your driveway in the snow? The vape gods are watching over you!

A heads up for those buying Chinese vape gear.

Look for the tariff/trade war to escalate rapidly.
China just slapped an 80% tariff on Aussie exports to China.
And with all the anti China rhetoric coming from some US politicians....

yep

I buy quite a bit of electronics components from China.
lately the shipping costs are often more than the cost of the item/s.
Before they were pretty much all free shipping.
I buy less stuff now.

I ordered from that Central Iowa Ecigs or whatever (posted a link not too long back). I didn't get a tracking number until the day before it's supposed to be here which is tomorrow. They were serious about the adult signature. Got an email from FedEx asking if I'd be home tommorow. Otherwise if I missed the truck I'd have to run all the way to Fargo ND. That's an hour and a half away so I'll be home waiting lol. I wonder if more sites ate going to move to that type or delivery? Maybe it's just Iowa I dunno..

I'm willing to pay more for things NOT made in china though.
Dont get me wrong, I am not thrilled about seeing the golden age if vaping coming to a close. However; I'm glad to see manufacturing slowly being put in a position to not be as profitable for sending it overseas.
Reckon it's a catch 22 type of situation

would be a painful transition. China stuff is prolly 75% of what is in non food stores.
$3k iPhones, etc.

without cheap Chinese vape stuff I would still be smoking.

Yes it would be exceptionally painful. Sometimes pain is a necessary evil in life.
To be fair, there was a time that the us was not solely a consumer economy, and we didnt import most of our consumer goods. There is no reason we can't transition back to that.

Is that Central Vapors? I ordered something from them way before corona, and they sent it with adult signature required. What a pita! Other vendors weren’t using signature delivery then, so I never ordered from them again.

I would also be willing to pay for non Chinese goods. Although we’re in a tough position, like you said, with vape gear. Even companies that have designed mods etc here had to have them manufactured in China because it’s the only way they could afford to do it.

I also worry if the vape “culture” or scene (and gear) is going to fade away, but what about places like the UK where vaping is considered a good thing? Or do you think corona is going to put the kaybosh on trade with China everywhere? And mess up any possibility of getting back somewhat to the way things used to be?

Sorry if I went off a bit. Just sorta got to musing there.

I ordered something from those guys once, a long time ago. Everything was fine. That was before they started charging for adult signature verification and using a flat $9.95 for shipping. I went back to order more X-Baby tanks and saw those charges, and said, Nope. Not for me.

It might have been X-Baby tanks that I ordered from them to begin with. I liked those pretty well because of the top airflow, but after a while I started to realize that the flavor on them wasn't nearly as good as most of my other tanks.

But anyway, as far as the place goes, they seemed to be fine to me. Order was accurate and timely, everything a-ok.

Are the X Baby ones sub tanks and rebuildable?

Oh Wow- My Wet Vapes order is here-
I always wanted the Sigelei Spectrum Kaos in Chromatic and yippee Wet Vapes had them for a great price and with the 15% off I threw in the Dead Rabbit RTA in rainbow to get the free shipping. When I first saw the Kaos Chromatic at the Vape shop it was $80.00, by the time the prices had come down, the Chromatic was always sold out. Now I have one thanks to Wet Vapes! Both for under $40.00 using my Loyalty points as well as the 15% off-
:bliss:

I haven't been one to collect custom drip tips or any drip tips sold by themselves really. I hear a few name being thrown around from time to time.. Half Moon drip tips seem pretty famous. I think someone said they get sold from 15-20 dollars for one drip tip. That's a little rich for my blood.

They're having an anniversary sale. All of their drip tips are five bucks on their site. I saw a post on reddit and thought I'd mention it here.

I agree with you on the drip tips- Fasttech is my favorite place for drip tips- lol!
I can get a nice assortment of 4 or 5 DTs for $5.00 a pack
I have seen some beautiful custom DTs here on the forum, but for me Fasttech's are good enough.

This is about as low range as you can get. Rewicking a Smok Infinix pod, this one for the 3rd (4th?) time.
Here is the one being worked on cleaned and all apart next to the one it's replacing until I do that one too..
1.jpg

Here is the ugly, but fully functional kanthal coil with the fresh wick. The coil is crimped in there really good. Kanthal will last forever at these temps.
2.jpg

Here is the fresh one next to the old one.
3.jpg

And here is the device ready to go :D Vapes great. Better than from the factory actually. They send them wicked too loosely. That's why people wind up with juice inside theirs.
4.jpg

Oh yeah. To dry burn the coil clean, I just drop the base into the device, hold it snug with my ceramic tweezers and gently blow in the bottom a few times. It activates and burns the gunk off.

i have not seen you mention it, so i thought it was someone elses.
I've mentioned it, but not that often and it's been a while.

Somebody gave me a broken blue one like a year ago and I got it working, but the pod was totally unusable. I saw the Infinix pods on sale and figured what the heck, may as well try it out right? Turns out it was much better than I thought and a stick pod like that is great for portability and stealth, so I learned how to rewick it, because I am not buying pods.

However, it gave up the ghost when I left it in my pocket in the washing machine :wait: The shop here only wanted 20 bucks for a new one several months back, with 2 more pods, so I bought another. This time red. Now I have interchangeable red and blue shells for the new one :D I have maybe 8 or 10 pods for it, so with rewicking they should outlast the device.

The first Novo pods are pretty much reusable. I've rewicked those a bunch. Nord coils can be rebuilt pretty easily too. I saw a video on how to do a horizontal build and it works out good. I've rewicked Caliburn pods a few times too.

That's how I felt about it too, and I'm a real tight ass a lot of times. A good drip tip can be worth it though. I think with tax and a couple bucks shipping my lawless tip came to around $32-33. And yea, for just a small piece of resin it's ridiculous, but cheaper than I could make it myself. Far less frustration. I try to weigh the usefulness to the cost on a lot of things I purchase.

So I look at my mod, it's what powers everything. My coil that actually heats the juice, the juice, the atomizer. Spending on a drip tip just seems dumb because well, it's just round and it kinda sits there. But aside from holding the mod in my hand it's the part that touches my mouth each and every time I take a vape. It's a comfort thing. Like a mouse or keyboard doesn't add performance to a pc really but if it's shit to hold/use the best pc in the world can suck ass to use. I'm not a fan of most straight drip tips especially 810's. They're too big and not very ergonomic imo.

Not knocking cheaper drip tips if they work. I went that route at first with 510 tips from ft. Saw a bunch that looked cool and looked like they'd be comfy. One I got was bored way tighter and smaller id than it showed on the pic. Another couple didn't fit for crap where they're milled down to fit in the top of the atomizer so they were loose and one or two were so loose they just fell out. $3 here, $2 there, $4 here and pretty soon it was like $15-20 for a bunch of 'meh' tips. Or spend once for one that turned out great. Fits all my 810's like a glove, snug enough it doesn't fall out but not so tight the orings shove it back out or have to fight it. Lawless did a great job. And I got a tip I couldn't find at the time bored just right inside splitting the difference in area between an 810 (too wide/airy) and a 510 (too tight). I could find 5 or 6mm id 510's, 12-14mm id 810. It's a big difference. In terms of id area for vapor to flow an 810 is typically like 3.5x that of a 510. So most of the options are small or super sized with no real 'medium'.

I noticed that different shapes of drip tips can affect the vape for better or worse, or just change it from DL to MTL. So there’s that, as well. Jmho.

I was the same way, couldn't understand paying as much for custom drip tips, then I ran across a big sale and Angel's. After trying them out, I haven't been able to use anything else. The way they feel, the way they look... yeah another rabbit hole, yikes. Plus, the owner is so nice, and her CS is excellent. She even works with you to get you exactly what you want. I've broken so many from FT, or stock ones that would get a ding/snag in them. The ones I have now haven't done that. I admit it's pricey, yep, and the other pieces of gear that could be purchased for a little more, at times, but I'm really happy with them.

On a side note, they also don't get as gross nearly as fast as other ones, LOL.

My latest from Rhonda is in her Tip Parade today. Might be the prettiest one yet. It isn't that she gets better at making them so much as I think I get better at picking out blanks that I love. I can't wait to get this latest one.

I think they are SO worth the money.

If you're interested in an AIO unit and you don't mind rose pink, the Aspire Plato at ejuicesteals for $12.99 is a worthwhile buy. Uses Nautilus coils, is very well made, gives a nice restricted DL vape even with a 1.8 ohm coil at 14W. Has great flavor. Even comes with an Aspire 18650!

Device has TC capability, and Ni200 Triton Mini coils are 50 cents for a pack of 5. It's worth a try! I'll be trying those coils soon.

If you don't like pink, there are wraps and silicone Modshields available for this device.

I just got 12 packs of Triton Mini coils from them, so since they fit the Plato, it would be worth it. Aspire’s pink is usually hot pink, so it would be okay. But wraps would be good.
The tank is inside the mod? I wish they’d show these things!

I got a Uwell Whirl 20, it’s a small AIO, and it’s pretty good. Nice vape and even with its 700 mah battery, it lasted me almost half a day. Coils are a pita to find though.

If I'm not mistaken, Nick gives a good overview of the Plato here:

Yes, the tank is inside the device.

Thanks, Nada. I don’t have any pods and the AIOs I do have are stick/pen types. I’ll check this out. I like him pretty much, anyway.

Hope everything is good with you and the family.

Don't know if anyone is interested besides me, but VapeNW has Lemo 2 RTAs in stock again for $6.99. I've ordered two more.

This thing drinks up some juice, but it is as close to a perfect vape for me as I've found. The flavor is really super outstanding. Better than the $50 Juggerknot Mini I bought. Also doesn't give me dry hits and f'n burnt cotton all the time.

It was a no-brainer for me. I had already decided if I ran across more of them for cheap, I'd order more. :)

That feedlink is a great mod. The tank is pretty nice too. The coils seem hard to come by. I bought the tank from here for cost of shipping a while back just for something different. But had the whole kit a year or so ago. Great score

Thx man, I had missed out on all the previous sales and Trading Post deals on 'em.
Vape NW has the coils for it too...I reckon I can just rebuild 'em though if needed.

Butttt..... I will probably put the SXK Legend on it. :)

I got the silver, so yeah, it'll be sweet.
