Headaches from vaping?

Hello, I had quit vaping for a few months.. And started again.. just as heavy as I was before..and I'm not vaping any nicotine..only what I mix myself with one flavor concentrate and 50/50 VG/ PG.

But..I have been getting headaches at my forehead a lot now (but I've also started a new medication), and don't know if it is sinuses, medication-related- or if it is because I started vaping again, (though it did not cause headaches before).

Does anyone have any experience with this? Thank you!

No, but try to fiddle with the % of VG/PG and possibly change up the flavor. Some flavors disagree with me. Hope you figure it out, Des. Stay safe!

It's allergy season. My nose is stopped up right now. Tree and grass pollen are at a real high value right now. Get some Claritin and see if that helps. I doubt it's vape related as you didn't get headaches before as you stated

I started getting allergies and it's really unpleasant. I get headaches, irratated eyes, and stuffy nose.

You have to up your water intake when using ecigs is what I think. I drink a lot water throughout the day. My mouth still gets dry if I over do it vaping wise. Your body just gets dehyrated. Dehydration head aches are no fun. I'm sure everyone knows what a hangover is.

You may be right about that. My mix is the same as I used to use, but my headaches are at my forehead, and 1 went away after flonase. I had also taken advil + c*d, so wasn't sure what helped..

Another good idea. Thank you!

Sounds sinus/allergy related to me. At least that is what happens with me in allergy seasons.

Disclaimer: I am not employed in the medical field nor have I ever stayed at a Holiday Inn Express.

You should try quercetin. It’s an herb and it works great for stuffy nose and allergies. And no side effects, for me anyway.

The ones by your “third eye” are sinus headaches. Try Quercetin. It’s an herb and it’s great for allergies. NOW brand makes them. They’ve helped a lot with my sudden bouts of allergies.

How much do you take?

Two caps is 800mg, which is the recommended dose. But usually I take one at a time. Since Thanksgiving I’ve been taking it almost everyday. It clears my sinuses and stuffy nose really fast.

Great. Thank you!

I hope it helps you like it helped me. I wouldn’t recommend it if I wasn’t taking it myself. It’s been a lifesaver these last few months.

Stay safe, Dez. Hope you’re doing well!

You never said what the nicotine level your vaping.

I started with 18 mg cig-a-likes and got 18 mg juice for my new sub ohm kit.
Big mistake.....
Headaches, light nausea, just a general feeling of "ugh"

I hope you feel better Dez

Wish I was doing better.. I saw a dr about my degenerative disc and start online physical therapy in am. There aren't many options as far as meds for me bc I'm already on a pain med that no longer works, and surgery he even admitted doesn't work out well a lot of the time..so praying therapy helps. I really have no bottom L5-S1 disc left..

L-4/L-5 skaplosion survivor here....
I had a laminotomy in 2004 and, luckily, no back surgery since
I still feel like a creaky old man at 57, but I'm dealing with it with OTC meds and being smart about what I can and can't do.

hang in there.....literally......inversion got me off prescriptions

Beware inversion.
Tried that and was bedfast for a month.
May work for some but not all.

A degenerative disc sufferer here too.
About 25 years worth.

@SpectoVia

I did my 1st online pt , but it's too hard at home. I'm wondering if my back could cause these headaches..
So, looking for a really good pain balm (got a post in c*d forum), and put off starting p.t. again until they open again on may 4th.
Thanks for the tips! I just saw a dr about this for the first time yesterday, and have a long way to go (I'm only 40, but bottom disc is bone on bone). It's good to know I'm not alone- but hate to hear others are suffering too..

The athlete in me thinks "c'mon brah....no pain no gain"
But the wiser spinal issue veteran in me says "I pray for you to find some relief, whatever that may be"
I would balk at p/t given your bone on bone status. You're not going to magically regenerate your disc by doing leg lifts while sitting on a bouncy ball or working on your "core" muscles.

@The Cromwell make a key point; degenerative.
Mine was the result of a burst disc and not from a long term wearing down of the disc. I was required to go through p/t for 3 months with no positive progress before the MDs finally said, "uh...yeah....let's go ahead and schedule that laminotomy." I still have the disc. It's just that now it is a slightly shriveled dead biscuit. I cannot imagine the pain you must be dealing with.

sounds like you might have a spine fusion in your future

hang in there.....this time figuratively

I’m also diagnosed with degenerative disc disease. Found out when I got a herniated disc.

Nope fusion has been ruled out by 3 different specialist surgeons.
Lots of hardware installed is all they could do for me and that is doubtful of improvement.

It sucks we all deal with this. I have a good week, then a bad one it seems. I really thought p.t. would be painful, but so far just minor pain earlier and took a muscle relaxer and feel ok.
-today is a good day. I've been in bed so long with another illness that I've lost muscle strength, so it'll help that, and supposed to help with regaining movement too. It's an intense schedule. I'm unable to do it here in the apt, so just have 3 stretches here, and waiting until they re-open to continue.

My dr told me the other day that surgery does not usually work out well and that is the same thing I have heard from a lot of people so I don't want to jump into that since I haven't tried this yet. Maybe later I can look at getting shots also but I can't have steroids right now.

I’ve gotten the shots. The first one hurt like a bitch cuz I wasn’t ready for that amount of pain. It was bad! Then the next 2 weren’t as bad, he also prescribed me Valium for them so that must’ve helped a lot. I have anxiety too so that usually increases it all.

It was. Not gonna lie. And I don’t want to go into details on anything about it so I don’t stray anyone away from it. Would I say the pain is worth it? Yes. But it also depends on how your body responds. One shot gave me pain relief for 3 months, but then the next two didn’t last as long, second one lasted maybe a month. Got one more to see if it’d last longer and it only lasted a month again, so I think my body started getting used to it or maybe he just didn’t give me enough juice. Idk. I only got 3 then stopped (insurance also stopped paying for them). Still have bad back problems now but I just get my back a good cracking once a month and deal with it

edit: the first shot he didn’t prescribe me Valium for it, it was done with no meds whatsoever so that could’ve been the reason it hurt so bad for me, I have high anxiety and had to keep being told to calm my breathing down. Mind you, I have tattoos everywhere... big pieces. But it was more painful then that. When he prescribed me the Valium for the next two, it was like a small pinch and then nothing. So I’d suggest asking for a high pain reliever beforehand or something like a Valium so you don’t overthink the pain like I did.

had my second son about a year after it all and when I got the epidural put in, I sat like a boss and didn’t even flinch lol. So there’s that

Wow. I'm afraid shots would be awful like that. I have a RX for clonapin, so it wouldn't really help me unless it was a shot..

Dez, head over to the Discuss Wellness forum if you haven’t yet. A lot of people there are using CBD for pain. I hope you get relief.

I use Kratom, Naproxen and muscle relaxers for my back pain.

I tried kratom, but a dose didn't do anything, and a little more made me throw up. (I'm on a pain medication but it doesn't work anymore. )
I have some robaxin muscle relaxer but have to ration it, and it doesn't help the nerve pain down my sciatic. I have naproxen, but the dr said I'd have to be on it 24/7 to prevent bad days ,but I don't really believe that.
I took a Gabapentin and will see if it helps..

On a good day I take maybe 4 grams of Kratom on a bad day maybe 5-8 grams.
I pout mine in caps around 1/2 gram per cap. Stuff tastes horrible straight up. Well tastes like very GREEN.
Kratom is MUCH easier on my stomach than Naproxen.

Skelaxin is my muscle relaxer.
Naproxen I have been able to back off of since Kratom. However I was taking 2 grams a day for a while there. Liver and kidney damage range.

It’s a site Vapor Joe started for talking about CBD and health. The site is DiscussWellness dot com.

It’s all types of CBD and MMJ. You can find out other health stuff too. Once corona started, it quieted down a bit. But there’s good info there. And we can talk freely there!

I tried to sign up at that sight, but not getting confirmation email.
SOMEONE here before was Sure I was an undercover vendor or something, and gave me a hard time, changing my posts and stuff..so that may be why.

I'd much rather someone discuss a problem directly with me. It's easy for someone with access here to verify my identity through my email address and associated account.

EDIT- this time it was my paranoia.. the emails had gone to spam ..and then when I replied from the spam folder, it would not work.
so I had to take it out of spam and have the email resent and respond and then it accepted me. Problem solved.

Good! It’s not super active now with corona going on, but I’m pretty sure there must be info about oil or flower. Even possibly Quercetin, I just read an article at Natural News dot com about how Quercetin is reportedly working pretty well for corona.

I just bought another bottle of it since my allergies are acting up and it really helps me. If you’re on any meds, you might want to check that it’s okay to take. I’ve had no side effects, but everyone is different.

How’s things with you, Dez? Hope you’re doing okay! <3

could be one of 3 main things
nicotine and PG can dehydrate you causing a headache - drink more water if this is the case (min 2l a day)
PG intolerance
nicotine too high - some people get nic headaches
