I've been using an Achilles RDA since 2015. Confucius say, if it ain't broke... DON'T FIX IT.

Hi Andria. Yeah my misses is much more practical than I am at times.
:giggle: A package will arrive and she's got to the mail box first and I hear, and I swear at times I almost hear it being yelled out to me by George Costanzas mother, "ANOTHER PACKAGE HAS ARRIVED FOR YOU. ANOTHER ONE! WHAT ON EARTH COULD YOU POSSIBLY HAVE NEEDED NOW!?"

The deeming regs if they happen as planned is pretty much the end of vaping in the uS.
All vape products, mods, atomizers, juice, coils, etc not on the US market prior to February 2007 must get FDA approval to be sold in or imported into the USA. to date none are approved. And getting approval is neither cheap nor easy.
Enforcement is scheduled to start on May 12, although I saw a post about it being delayed until September? Due to the virus.
It gets more complicated but that is it in a nutshell.

Ooh, we got a reprieve!! Yay.

It could be a first for the FDA, though. But a delay would help me with a few last minute things, though.
Yep and if granted maybe US suppliers will order more stuff to sell before September.

probably just more coils and pods... Darned pod people....

Vapocalypse. The Deeming Regs started by the FDA to kill vaping as we know it. To save kids and smokers from vaping.
Ah ok. I knew they were clamping down trying to ban it there, flavours and all, so Deeming is the title of that then in essence.
They are much against it, the majority of gov and medical, here. We need to get a prescription here to buy nic legally. It took me weeks of back and forwards to different doctors, downloading info to prove I could, to finally get one. Only one out of four I saw gave me one. The others said no its illegal even though the info is on the Govt website. One said it was a false website! It wasn't. Another said id made it up myself on a computer. Unbelievable.

Well, I really got no room to talk, since I've bought like 5 or 6 mods in the past month. I've tried a few other attys since 2015, but they all suck, more or less. At least, they suck compared to the Achilles. They just don't make 'em like that anymore, really super tight draw, super saturated flavor. Nowadays it's all OOOOH CLOUDZ OOOOH BIG AIR OOOOH HIGH-VG... bullshit. Nothing for people who vape like I do.

Made a simple order from BCF to continue my HoneyComb Custard addiction running for the next year ;)

Still had enough flavoring to go another 500ml, but that would be it.

E-mailed them today if they were still shipping and got the go ahead.

YAY! lol

Thinking about ordering one of these squonk rdas...

upload_2020-3-31_18-33-5.png

will look similar to this... but make it in .4mm AF... just debating on the size... 14-22mm simple single coil rda...

Always liked them...

simple deck...

upload_2020-3-31_18-33-33.png

Single side AF choice from .2mm to whatever... ;)

He makes other styles, straight no step down transitions...but the premise of the RDA is the same... imagine that... can run a simple 30g 2mm coil, and go to town at 5-7w and consume 60ml a month tops...

but yeah, FB ordering, who knows his scheduling with the pandemic... not a huge deal... just a time consuming waiting for it one ;)

Amazingly enough freebase nicotine itself is not really covered in the Deeming regs here.
Afik one can buy pure freebase nic without a licence or anything. I just get the 100mg/ml stuff though the pure stuff is to dangerous for me to fool with.
Now if it is sold as to be vaped it is. The intent thing.
Same with cotton, flavorings, wire , etc if it is marketed or labeled as for use in vaping then it falls under the deeming regs. why at least one flavoring suppler and one wire company changed their names.

Ah, ok. A concentrates mix supplier here did the same. Just before rules for various states here changed, mine Victoria is still kind of ok for now, the owner did a thing or two, split things up, and did that so he could still supply all the states. Good on him. Some in the world could say as they do "yeah he did it to keep the kaching rolling in". But I've dealt with him for 3 yrs and he is a vaper and a good decent person who always has looked after his customers above and beyond. There is another two here I know of that I put in the same category. Others, maybe 4 or 5, I wont buy from again. Hard times surely does sort the Sheep out from the Wolves doesn't it!

5-7w is PALLID. Using 1mm airflow, I vape this at 10w:

Achilles-built-2ohms.jpg

I make 90-96ml ejuice about every 3-4 wks; I vape pretty much constantly, roughly 14-16 hrs a day.

With 2mm airflow you could probably run 15-20w, so if you run at 15-20w, you might need twice that much juice. But 5-7w? There won't really be much vapor, and thus, no taste, no sensation of vaping at all. I dry-burn at 9w!

No kidding! I like "gnat's ass tight" but .2mm is much too tight, that's hardly any air at all; I even find the tightest setting on one of the more recent attys I tried, .8mm, a bit too tight. 1mm or even as much as 1.5mm, that's quite nice. I could even tolerate the 1.8mm of the Caiman v4 if the flavor was decent, but... it's pretty weak. I may have to accustom myself to it, or to my old Kayfun Lite Plus attys, if anything happens to my Achilles... but as long as the Achilles work, I'll be using those, because of the outstanding flavor.

I was only yanking your chain about Atty's not being made anymore to specifications you like...

When it comes to lower wattage vaping my happy place for MTL is 1.2mm af with a lil 2mm 28g coil 1.1Ω in my dvarw at 14w...

But I am all over the place when it comes to vaping... my mainstay lately has been the cloud crowd, especially during lock down... I don't need MTL at home with higher nic to satiate. Just looking to my right, I have my lil Pico Squeeze with my Le Concorde with a 2mm N80 coil at .8Ω on a single 1.2mm hole... my Dani Mini with Dvarw DL with a 2.5mm N80 Coil at .5Ω at 26w 2.5mm AF.. but then I am using my 21700 mech with a .11Ω Tri Core Aliens which equate to about 115w haha... but yeah all over the place...

But yeah... .2 wouldn't even mess with it... but he does make them from .2 to whatever AF size you prefer... but they're like $100, which is priced well out of many peoples budget.

Anyhoo! ;)

I haven’t been doing anything vape related since I haven’t been looking at gear or anything. I do mix though every week or so.

But all I do is vape all day and hang out here. Self isolating is bumming me out a bit.

Anyhoo! ;)

I bought an Achilles II, which was $98... and that thing absolutely SUCKS. he tried to appeal to those who like more airflow, but it's still much too tight for those people... but entirely too loose for those who like a really tight draw... and by using the turn-the-base airflow adjustment instead of the tried-and-true hex key adjustment, IT LEAKS LIKE A SIEVE!

So, no more expensive attys for me. If my husband ever acquired any metal-working tools, I'd get him to try his hand at copying an Achilles, even if he had to use stainless to build it, which would be a lot heavier than the titanium Achilles, but maybe would vape as well.

For my Achilles, that one I pictured above... I use 29ga kanthal, 8 wraps around a 3/32 drillbit, which usually comes in at about 1.8 to 2 ohms... currently, it's reading 1.86Ω. Perfect vape! I used the same wire and drillbit, though only 7 wraps, when I used a Kayfun Lite Plus, but it was a smidgen airier than my Achilles, and I vaped at about 10-10.5w; the resistance was closer to 1.5Ω, with only 7 wraps. For a while I tried out 9 wraps, but it always came in over 2Ω... really I think the best vape, for me, is right around the 1.8Ω level.

Today my new mod and tank, both from different places, arrived. The Gun metal grey Zeus looks awesome. The Tinker 2 I really like the look of. Most of the time its blue but on certain angles it is a deep purple colour.
It has one let down though and its one that really bugs me with some mods and this really bugs me. The battery door latch does not sit flush. It sits out by a mm or so, just enough so that the mod rocks on it and when set down the weight of the mod is partially sitting on that latch. Im going to have to put a layer or two of tape on the base to stop it. I love the look of it and am keeping it, but if id been in a shop and handled it seeing this I would not buy it.
Pales into insignificance really though doesn't it given whats going on everywhere.

Yeah I sometimes are left scratching my head with stuff. And too some descriptions given leave me that way. I have had some serious dissapointments in tanks and mods over the years. I have binned about 1/4 of things I have had. Actually to be honest I smash them to bits then bin them. Its more satisfying that way. :D

even if i didn't like it, i throw away nothing. just never know when it may be needed.
Hi, not so much I dont like as I have given away plenty of gear I personally didnt like.
Its stuff that is utter junk. Like a Deja Vu mod I had. The battery latch sat so high that it took tripple the amount my Tinker has to fix its rocking horse effect. Then it would shut down, show no connection, wouldn't fire up. Utter junk, so I destroyed it gladly. Will say though, that it was the without a doubt, the toughest bit of gear ever I did destroy. The blast proof construction claim I think was pretty on point. I destroyed it in a heavy duty gold/quartz dolly pot and I mean heavy duty as I had it made for me by a guy years ago that really delivered on my request. Nobody can lift it with just 1 hand. That Deja is made out of some seriously tough stuff. Ill give it that. But no, I dont waste anything someone else can use ever. Have given away heaps of things I dont like. But junk, :D now that's a different story altogether.

I like the way that mod looks, but if I received it and it rocked like that, it would seriously piss me off.

Wismec hasn't had the best reputation over the years, but my experience with their stuff overall has been good. I've spoken up for the things I've had good experiences with, but now realize that it must be things like that glaringly obvious design failure that's caused them to deserve some of the criticism they've received.

No company that's been manufacturing vape gear as long as they have should put out a product with such an obvious problem. It's just absurd.

I'm glad your mind went to work on the problem - I'd never have thought of the solution you used, so good on you. I hope you have good service out of it otherwise.

And yes, it does pale in comparison. Sometimes healthier to get pissed about the small stuff, though, than to try to take in all the big stuff. Jmho.

On a different subject, I am still LOVING this Blitz Intrepid RTA. I might not be able to keep myself from ordering another one while VapeNW still has some in stock for cheap. I think I like this RTA as well as the Juggerknot Mini I paid nearly five times the money for.

Hi mate. The DJV D7 180 watt mod. Here is the box.
20200403_014224(1).jpg
So why do I still have the box? My misses has this wierd habit of keeping and displaying them on our kitchen top cabinet area. Yep, I asked why and her response is always the same "I like the boxes".
Um, ok. Like they say happy wife = happy life. I'll leave that there.

Yeah. I have a Wismec RX 20700 that I got when it was released and it has been one of my exceptional no skipping a beat mod and still going strong even the 2 batteries it came with in the package deal. Still have 2 Wismec RX 80 minis that are the same. One a metal version the other a resin one. Great little things. But I know that some others, the triple batts? Cant recall right now, but had heating issues and such. Not good, and outright dangerous. Honestly, and its subjective, but I love the look of this Tinker 2. Feels good, simple no fuss. But for crying out loud one of the main things, you hold it, use it, set it down. The last one, set it down and it rocks around on the battery latch!?
Seriously!? The thing that keeps it sealed on an IP67 rated mod holds some of the weight? What a ridiculous design flaw. How hard would it be to just recess it a bit more? Ok, I made a fix that I can live with. But it really is if I went into a shop a "nope thats crap" issue in my opinion. I thought about sanding down the ridges on the latch, its the last 3 that sit up. The last one at the back the highest. But went for the least destructive option which I think in my mind may be the best and simplest one. I call it with bottom latch mods "the credit card test". Just run your card edge from either front to back or visa versa and see if it catches.
But like I said. If this right now is my biggest complaint in life then I really should be thankful that that is it.
Still... crapy battery latches (we all are allowed a gaaaaahhhhh now n then :D)

Don’t you have more than those, or are those only the boxes? What Aspire box was that? It looked like a Premium kit with a Naut Mini and a VV mod.

box's, thats all of them, not including the slip tube china containers. at the bottom they are double and triple parked. a few have mods in em, ones i have 2 of.

Aspire, not sure what you are referring to. i think you are mistaken me for someone else.

Heh, I've got an entire drawerful of attys that will probably never be used again. But there are one or two in there that, given a bad enough lack of a suitable atty, I might give another try. The Beserker is one -- the one I mentioned that has the .8mm lowest-airflow setting. That one might be just about tolerable if it didn't leak so badly, so I might try different ways to wick it, if I ever really need to. But I'd probably just go back to my 3 KFL+'s if that was the case; their airflow is nice and tight, they don't leak unless you seriously fuck something up... I'd just have to adjust to less flavor. Given that I'm currently mixing my strawberry & cream at 20.4% flavoring, if I went back up to 25% or 28%, I could probably tolerate those KFL+'s.

Hi, hey I remember you mixed high % strawberry. Wasn't it INW Shisha?
I eventually settled on two. FA Juicy Strawberry, very realistic but takes a good 4 weeks for my taste to settle. Too early and it tastes like an over ripe strawberry. But like a fresh one with a steep. The other is FA Pazzo Jack, supposed to be a one shot candy strawberry. That I find is ok after 2 weeks but still better a bit longer. Thats just my personal preference though a longer steep time. If I recall right you use shorter steeps high %. I mixed a strawberry mix today that I really like. Its FA Juicy Strawberry 3%, FA Pazzo Jack 3% and FA Marshmallow 4%. Sometimes I use MM at 5% not sure between 4 & 5 there is much difference just as I mix from memory mostly, I err on the low side if I cant make up my mind at the time. Which is often :D
Here's my todays efforts, took my time more than usual as I aint got anything else to do. Went into cruise slo mo, mix a bit, get a drink, bit more stop and look out the window at the rain, mix and repeat. :D 2 hours.

Rewrapped a battery. Changed a coil out in my breeze 2. Those last forever because I'm not really worried about flavor with it. Just getting the nic while I'm away from my other vape at work.
Some talk shit about pods but I do hard manual labor some days and it's easier to keep a decent pod like the breeze 2 or Pasito in my pocket. Really looking forward to the new Smoant knight 80 pod.

Rewicked my Juggerknot Mini. Had to. Vaped 3 tanks of juice through it, changed nothing, all of a sudden, dry hits. Well, rather, burnt-tasting cotton.

When I opened it up, wicks were wet, cotton was dark where it was touching the coil, but didn't seem burnt, didn't smell burnt. I don't know what the flipping thing was doing. I put new wicks in. Wonder how long it will go this time before it pitches a little bitch fit.

It's been kind of a pain in the ass so far. First few days were great, then its best behavior went right out the window, and it's been a right bitch ever since. The Freeman juice I've been using in it is 20/80. I wonder if that's the problem. The wicking holes on it are huge, though, and the wicks, as I said, did look plenty wet.

thats pretty cool Bro. are you printing those out ?

pods, yep, i like them. only have one, NORD. and yeah, while i don't use it a lot, is use it regularly, and i am still on my first coil.
I actually got these from jwill a while back. He printed out a few for me and clear wraps. But I wrapped them over the factory wraps so ruined the other clears I had.

:D 2 hours.

I simply couldn't taste any other strawberry flavors except shisha strawberry -- because if I can't taste it when I mix it, I'm not going to waste anymore time on it. Steeping is only tolerable when it's a mix I know I like, and I already have some of it that I'm vaping, so I can wait a bit for the new mix. Which is probably why I've been able to get my strawberry & cream down to 20.4% flavoring; I mix a fresh 90-96ml when I've still got 30-40ml, roughly a week's worth, which I can vape and the fresh mix can sit for a week. But a week or 10 days is all I am willing to deal with. Any longer than that, and I lose all interest in it, and it will sit there for 6 months until one day I'm cleaning bottles and dump all the really dark down the sink. I've still got 3 30ml bottles that I mixed in 2017 sitting on my vape cabinet, just waiting for me to need those 30ml bottles and dump them.

I set up my Hellvape Destiny a while ago. The reviewers weren't lying. This is a flavor machine. The actual tank feels a bit rough though. Rough topfill, and un screwing the base was really squeaky. It went back together fine and the topcap got better when I put juice on the oring.

Like I said though, the flavor is really great. The airflow and draw is similar to my Ijoy Captain Elites. This one has better flavor for whatever reason though. Single coil RTA lovers, keep an eye out for one of these.

It could be a first for the FDA, though. But a delay would help me with a few last minute things, though.

Speaking of which...did the NY State Senate pass that bill to outlaw flavors in the state on July 1? I thought I saw where it passed.

I just watched a review for the Smoant Ladon. I was excited about the RBA but it looks like it might suck because the airflow situation. AmbitionVaperz or whoever looks like the first one to get it and he couldn't figure it out. He built it but said there was just too much going on. It didn't perform well with wire or mesh coils.

The smaont knight will be interchangeable with all the pasito coils and the pasito rba. 18650 battery. Really wanting in to hit the states. Still on pre-order

I got the paypal notification that my new AHD driptip has had a label made for it, currently still in pre-shipment, and i keep hitting her tip parade FB page, but it's not showing yet. Picture me hitting that tab and F5ing like a maniac every 30 seconds or so. C'mon, I wanna SEE it!!! :teehee::bliss:

It's the little things, y'know... about 3/4" long. ;)

Don’t you have more than those, or are those only the boxes? What Aspire box was that? It looked like a Premium kit with a Naut Mini and a VV mod.

Under the SX Mini. I’m nosy, what can I say.

I did my first mix with the Kings Custard One Shot. Haven't tried it, but it smells good. Gonna let it steep till next weekend and try it....:)

Good for you! It’s a nice flavor. Plus it plays well with other flavors. I’ve been vaping it daily for about 6 months now.

I hope you like it, BB! Stay safe, please.
