We woke up to a flash flood watch, but it wasn't raining when I got up, just angry looking clouds

So, I figured not a good day to start anything that can't be dropped quickly - and so tons of stupid little things done mainly outside but nothing big, like what really needs doing LMAO

Trying to convince Mr J he needs to flat out stay home until further notice is not easy - he lives to go shopping

He's a stubborn one!

Had to get my brakes done today. Of all times in the world for my brakes to get crunchy, out of nowhere, but got it done. Had to stop for a few supplies, which I wasn't thrilled about, but managed to get milk to his mom. We also surprised her with a pack of toilet paper, LMAO! She got to laughing about it, actually. (Can y'all just imagine people's Christmas lists this year?) She was funny, sitting there working on one of her huge puzzles, then making sure I know the salons are all closed, which is why her hair looks "so bad".

Work has been insanely busy, I've been exhausted, haven't been on much, or just not feeling chatty. Just stressed with the rest of the planet.

The day was 84 degrees, uber sunny. Currently, it's POURING down rain, but it's awesome. While I realize it won't wash all this away, it's soothing to listen to. I'd listen all night long. It's headed your way, Cromwell.

Might have hit 84 here at 1 PM it was a bit over 80.

It’s nice that we share weather. When we drove to NC from NY years ago, we were in front of a storm. It followed us but didn’t hit us until we got to Raven Rock park to camp. The next morning it was pouring. But we had a fun trip anyway!

So, that’s a happy memory! Otherwise, I’m doing okay. Hope everyone is doing well and keeping safe.

I'm super sad - my weekly yoga in the yurt with my neighbor ain't happening this week :(

It's something good for the body and soul and we had originally planned to keep it up regardless but have decided otherwise, things being what they are

Guess I shouldn't pout, others have it so much worse - especially those who are ill or even lost their lives

I do some every morning regardless

But the Sunday yurt thing is special, I don't normally enjoy yoga with others

My work wants us back on Tuesday. I think this is a shitty and life threatening idea. Not sure if i am going in yet.

Look and see if your state is allowing unemployment for being at high risk, even if your job is essential - some have emergency rules that are much more liberal than before all this crap

In the interest of improving mental attitudes.
I would like to see everyone posting in this thread to post 1 positive thing that happened in their lives.

Not to say do not post any bad crap too. We are all gonna have plenty of that. And holding it in is probably not good for us.

Just a suggestion of course.
All this time has allowed me to start getting my diabetes under better control. Last week I started a new medicine. We reduced or eliminated some and added a new one. Since starting the new one my glucose (which averaged 270 and frequently got as high as 400) is now averaging in the 170's with much more time in the normal range. I'm getting up to pee a lot less and some of the neuropathy pains have eased.

That is good news - you will fight off other illnesses better if you are exposed if you are healthy to begin with :)

Went by Wally world today so I could avoid the first of month rush.
Things were better stocked than I have been seeing for a few weeks. They even had toilet paper, bleach ans lysol wipes.
! week until next scheduled trip.

Very nice day here today as well.

Well - I will be heading out into the wilds soon ie: laundromat, transfer station, farmers market and probably grocery store

Thought of the ramifications of putting it off, and saw no benefit except appeasing the side of me that wants to procrastinate hahahaha

May actually be less risky now as the number of infected will likely grow as more time passes.
Good luck out there.

Also, @nadalama pointed out, tomorrow Social Security, food stamps, etc come out and a lot of people are broke today but will be out to spend tomorrow, so I'm thinking the least amount of ppl will be out and about today - at least that is my hope

I’m doing okay, same old same old. Nothing really new here, but maybe that’s good. Allergies are driving me crazy, and it doesn’t help that they’re flu like symptoms.

Sorry to be a bummer, y’all. :blech:

Wifes cousins wanted her to come out an play. Actually a genealogy meeting I think.
She told them I had grounded her and no friends coming here to play either.
Because of their political leanings I do not think they are taking this seriously.
I take protecting my wife from the virus very seriously.

We still can't get any cleaning products except toilet cleaning. At least we will have clean shitters for all the newly stocked TP.

Hi yall. Hope everyone is well. Haven't been getting on much. Really been planting my ass on the couch or sitting outside with the dog. My neighbor and I talk from our respective driveways.

Still getting a handle on the new diabetes meds. Sent a message to the doc today as I feel we need to adjust. Last night I was woken up freezing but with a full body sweat. I was also shaking. Checked blood glucose and it was down to 42. Ate a few oranges and brought it back up. That was scary.

Wife's sister and her daughters came over for a little while tonight. Our kids and their cousins took turns jumping on the trampoline. Afterwards we all played cards in the garage so as to be able to keep some distance and not be in a enclosed area.. It was nice to see other humans.

So far I haven't heard of anyone that I personally know contracting the bug.

I spilled my liquid soap meant for diluting, and I’m out. I’m waiting for some more to be delivered. So I’m using hand soap that I usually use for my face. It works, but not the same.

Still worried about my daughter in Seattle, though she did test negative for Covid, she is still as sick as she was

As for myself, am getting a shit load done outside, as the sun has been shining for a few days now :) Helps keep the mind off of worries if you can keep busy

Hi Y'all. Hope everyone is doing well. Haven't been on much but nothing new to report. I think we are all to the point where we are tired of this house (except wife as she still goes to work) Kids have a good portion of the day occupied with electronic schooling. I'm either playing mind numbing games, sitting out side, or vegetating on the couch watching junk TV.

We took a long drive yesterday. Didn't get out of truck, but we did have a lot of good conversation. Next week we've decided to go to our property in east Texas. Almost 300 acres so it's isolated. Will be nice to get a change of scenery. Lots of card/board games, shoot the guns (but not too much. gotta conserve ammo), and walking in the woods/creek.

sorry to hear that.
Try to smooth things out.
A change of scenery will be nice. I can go get lost in the woods for a few hours. MY wife, son, and myself can entertain ourselves, but my daughter cannot. She needs constant attention from others. I love her to death but she is getting very annoying and every little thing is driving me bonkers.

Your daughter’s okay, though, isn’t she?

Her fever broke and is feeling somewhat better

My current Covid 19 gripes are many though

Taking Mr J for drive through testing today - his doctor is concerned

Had to go to Hilo yesterday to get him a couple of scripts; put in a pick up order at Home Depot, which they still have not filled :headbang:

I’m glad she feels better. And you’re lucky you’ve got drive through testing. And you’re lucky to be in beautiful Hawaii.

Maybe Home Depot is short of meds or workers. I hope they fill them soon. :blech:

Home Depot is hardware - was hoping to get something really important we need while I was out at the pharmacy anyway

It's about 20 miles from the house and almost 2 miles of that is rough dirt road - am trying to not have to repeatedly leave the house - it's a waste of time and gas and every time you leave the house, it increases your potential risk

I thought they only did home diy stuff, but I thought maybe in HI they’re more diverse.
I’m kinda afraid to go out around here, so I haven’t been out in about two weeks. :boring:

You’ve got slime you want to ship? :giggle:

I might. :) Not really been away from home here for over roughly three weeks. Need to go out here in a little bit to get blood work done.

Used to not going out much so, it hasn't seemed to phase me much. Not much to do around here anyway. Let's see go to grocery store, go eat Chinese food. There's other restaurants but the Chinese one is the "special" to do. We had a movie theater but it's been closed at least five years. They weren't drawing any profit at all. Nobody enjoyed the theater "experience" any more. Why pay $8+ per ticket to sit in a room of rude assholes to watch a movie when you can watch it at home for next to nothing?

Know my testosterone level will be low this time. Missed at least one dose. Forgot the testosterone in our car after hitting the deer. Car has been locked up in a way at the 'shop' who closed until next Monday. Oh well, I'm sure the doctor will berate me, humiliate me for being human and gee, damn, forgetting after being shocked by hitting a deer. And of course, I'll also face the normal condescending sentiment that I'm interrupting a golf game, some high brow social affair. All the while I get to enjoy being a lab rat. Yay.

So if I randomly mix up a batch of slime and send it through the mail just to have a little fun, what the heck? At least I'm not a psychopathic or sociopath killer, drug fiend, boozer, scurvy dog. I only look seedy when gardening. And yes the slime I make is non-toxic, could almost be hypo-allergenic too. It's just the thought of someone getting a random slime filled envelope and opening it that gets me tickled. Could be worse, I could mail glitter bombs. Now there's a though, glitter based slime mail. Ha!

And oh yeah? Did i mention it's raining here, like a cow pissing on a flat rock. Fuck. And we need to go out, loverly. Oh well, "Heigh Ho! Heigh Ho! Heigh Ho! ... Just another running day!" I hope I get breakfast while out. Not ate since 20:00 last night. I getting hungry.

You could add glitter to the slime and make someone’s day, plus yours, of course!

I’d intended to mention to you about the Deer spirit/totem. It’s gentle but very powerful. Since you were unwittingly involved in one’s death, maybe you should think about contacting Herne or whatever you want to call “him”. He’s amazing, actually. <3

Good lord, had a dear friend we have known for decades freak out on us yesterday afternoon - I felt morally obligated to go to her - about 15 miles away

Called and it took over an hour to find out ambulance wouldn't come as she refused service on the phone - long, complicated story made short

Will call adult protective services today, but I am not holding out hope they will do shit

*sigh*

But, I'm healthy and Mr J is on the mend, so is my daughter, so guess I should not complain

Just can't like that post.
So sorry but we will have much more of this I fear with most all of us.

Jimi posted an article that said 5 million would have to die in the US to provide 'Herd Immunity' to covid 19.
Based on the number of survivors and how many it would take to provide 'herd immunity'.
And even with 'herd immunity' some would still die from the virus. Just not big bunches or clusters.

Gonna be real folks and not over in a month or two.

Yep. Outlook is 18 months according to this article. It seems like forever. But sounds about right to completely extinguish this virus or have the last few contained and treated.

America should be ready for 18 months of shutdowns in long hard road ahead, warns the feds Neel Kashkari
I think it will vary by area. some areas will peak and decline in a couple months and perhaps restrictions will be relaxed some in those areas. The country is not gonna have one peak and over. Overall though yeah might be 18 months and even after then we will not be totally safe from the Corona virus.

Staying home has led to some unprecedented spring cleaning. We just found a carboy of mead I had put aside and forgot about 10 years ago. My god that stuff is potent... closer to honey schnapps than honey wine, but, as I ain't dead or blind yet, I think it's still good. I guess I know what I'll be drinking the remainder of the quarantine.
