One of our doctors here said a few days ago that even if you get it and recover you still will remain susceptible to get it again as someone who has never had it. That a very few may develop some type of immunity but the majority wont. That how bad you get it can depend on a few things. If you are in contact with just 1 person that passes it you may get a mild case. But the more exposure you have, multiple carriers, the more severe it will be. You get loaded up. That also there is two versions, covid 19 L and covid 19 S. He said s is the mild one like a flu (please correct me if i get it the wrong way around due to memory) but L is the killer. Either way he said both are everywhere.
The current battles is to slow the spread of the virus so that there are not more cases requiring hospitalization and ICU than our medical facilities can handle.
Indications are that we do develop antibodies/immunity to the virus. however these are just indications at this point.
We know too little to fully say about many aspects of the virus.
Like how they screened travelers for thew virus by taking their temperature.
Around 20% show little or no temperature.
Many show no symptoms but can spread the virus.

That we, indicating that all as you say, or to give you the benefit of the doubt, meaning many develop antibodies, this doctor said is totally false. He said it is falsely being reported as such. To not believe it. He is a doctor on the front line from here in Italy. From what I see I say I am sorry that I believe him and not you. This is world game changer. The collapse of our modern consumer greed empire as we know it. I wish it wasn't so but it is. Sadly countless of our brothers and sisters as a human race are going to die, I never thought in my life time what I'm seeing I would but I am. They are dying in other countries right now as I type each of these letters out. Its a global catastrophe. World health doctors were on our TV today saying that millions in the world are going to be passed over with covid tests and help as there are not the global resources to help or save them. They are going to be chosen in a sense to die to save others. Who, with any humanity in them could not cry for these people, feel some pain, anguish, their fear, their dispair, feel a loss in this world at their utter helpless passing. Dying alone on streets, empty houses, nobody to help or hold their hand as they pass. Alone! Its happening in developed countries right now let alone others where loved ones cannot say goodbye because of the risk of severe infection. I have never felt more sadder and helpless in my life towards my fellow man as I do right now. That countless are dying without a warm loving hand to say goodbye, alone, to say "it's ok im with you my friend" sticks a knife through my heart. It horrifies me and I cant put it all into words.words.
As in history was the collapse of empires, this is ours. In the blink of an eye, by a microscopic, a game changer.
Show your love everybody.

Still Alive and well here.

I heard from a friend who is a Head Nurse at Long Island Jewish Hospital, the entire Hospital is full with Covid-19 cases and the regular patients have been moved to the lobby. Not enough Ventilators or beds and they are looking for other areas for patients. That is pretty messed up.

I'd just like to say that after seeing our news here and how bad its getting in the US, I have no doubt it will be here too, that to all of you wherever you are, I hope you all make it through this terrible time. I am at times seeing and hearing what is going on experiencing thoughts and emotions that I never have before in my entire life, totally and utterly alien to me. Dont get me wrong I think and hope I have always cared about my fellow man regardless of where they come from, race, friend or foe but have never felt the emotions and thoughts I have in recent weeks. To all of you my new friends here, even those I have not conversed with and maybe never will. Please, please, please stay safe and well and take the time for a breath here and there to be kind and watch others backs. I say this not lightly or blowing my own trumpet as over the past few weeks I have been in situations where I judged others wrongly just to be put in a situation not long after when to the same person I felt required to as what I hope is some decency in me show love and compassion. No I aint perfect, often a fail.
But please even when you think your right, take a breath and think that, like myself and others, sometimes you may be wrong and even if your not, show love. Many times I am, a major fail and fall then stand up, these are the times we need to show that we all need to show the love. Please stay safe all of you, every single one of you.

Between the song and the post, this got me all choked up this morning. I needed to be reminded to show compassion, so thank you.

As people in densely populated areas begin to recover, we'll be able to see if they become reinfected. More than likely in places like NYC, it will be impossible for those people to isolate themselves well enough to not be re-exposed. So we'll see whether we are being told the truth or not. There was quite a lengthy conversation in Trump's press conference yesterday about research being done on extracting antibodies from people who have recovered, to be used to basically innoculate people who have not yet been sick. We'll know soon, for sure.

It occurs to me over the last day or two how much it sucks for my generation to have worked our whole lives only to have THIS be what we deal with in our old age. I am three months away from 65 years old, have been working for 50 years, raised three children and contributed to the economy that whole time, paid my damn taxes, didn't commit crimes (well, not real ones anyway), and now I can't leave my fucking house.

But it's early yet to start getting angry, unless that's what it takes to get us through. I know myself well enough to know that sometimes anger IS what gets me through, so if that's the way it has to be, then so be it. I'd rather be mad than crying my eyes out.

Just got back from Wally World. They were pretty much stocked up on everything except T.P. and Sanitizer. That was still all gone.
Plenty of Lysol and cleaning supplies though.
So far only 7 confirmed cases in my county as of last night.

Checking in... but with some disturbing news.

I am bored out of my mind!

But seriously, I am trying to cope with the what ifs.

So two days ago, I got a text from my baby sis in Arizona... this was after my daily check in both here and with my family. She mentions that two of the providers for her Clinic were sent home to isolate due to elevated fever... not temps, but fever. ( I have elevated temps always, but not a fever, just how I am)

My sis wears PPE and one of the providers was one she works with specifically, so she is home now isolated also as a precaution. The things that are truly disturbing besides my sis and her immediate family possibly being affected is how half assed the clinic and HR handled it.

My sis raised her concerns within the chain of command, and they dismissed her cares. So I suggested to my sister, document the protocol(s) with video, the available PPE and conversation(s) with HR, Clinic manager(s) and tell them in your professional opinion as a RN, you don't feel safe and will be isolating for 14 days.

She said, that HR made her feel she was over-reacting...

So in a few, I will be calling her first, then mum and older sister in Michigan, Face-Timing my older (Half) Brother in the Philippines...

Hard for me to communicate with my Half Brother for my Tagalog is bad, and his English is even worse... but we manage.

Anyway, shitty Friday...

Thanks for reading and letting me air this out some...but when spoken(Typed) it cashes in as real, rather than being in denial.

I'll update tomorrow as usual, and hopefully my baby sis is ok.

Just a morning check in. took Wacko SIL to pharmacy and Wally World.
I just sat in blazer the whole time since I did not need anything.
Was strange though not going in to Wally world. I was sure they had something I could not live without. But refrained. SIL said they had some TP though. btw this is a different Wally world than I went to yesterday to get my stuff.
Did put gloves on to put gas in blazer though. Everyone handles the pumps and pushes buttons at pump.

well I just got the wire ordered from amazon..
and included was 2 FREE samples of 25 feet each of
TemCo 20 GA Titanium grade 1 annealed round wire
and
TemCo 18 GA Titanium grade 1 annealed round wire

Upon looking into how to use such this thicker wire.. ITS BRAIN-LESS!
sooooooooooo EASY
even if what was ordered up was
TemCo 28 and 36 GA N80 for making aliens <-- a whole lot more challenging.
yet it sure is nice to have this variety.

I LOVE free stuff.

Is the titanium wire like nickel, where it's only supposed to be used with temperature control? I'd be a little wary of that until I knew for sure. (Perhaps you do know, and if so, then please pardon the question.)

Checking in - looks like the rain MIGHT let up today, which would be nice - it is easier to take my mind off the worry when doing outdoors stuff that I do enjoy so much

A big hug to all  Being able to talk with VU peeps is a blessing during the time the world seems upside down

I LOVE your kitty.. @JuicyLucy
is she still a bottle baby???
I remember nickey as a baby every 2 hours..
and ya have to help them go pee and poop to.. so little and helpless.

{{ in nature a ma ma cat will asssist there babys pee and poop cuz it keeps there Nest cleaner
and keeps down their scent from preditors } thats also why ma ma cats move there babys so often.

She is off bottle for sure - was not so easy to ween her - and getting them to go to the bathroom is not for the faint of heart, that is for sure, lol

But, was worth the effort - we never cared for such a baby baby without a mama before

Is Luna teething now? She is such a beautiful little fluff ball!!

No, but she still sometimes tries to suck the food instead of actually eating it - was not an easy or fun process but the rewards have been on a very high level if you are a cat lover

We need an agree button! They must be doing it from home-getting an obscene amount:cuss2:

As I said earlier, I am just a few months shy of 65. Medicare is about to go into effect for me. There were already 1,866,401 telemarketers calling me to sell Medicare Supplement Insurance. Now there are 14,336,902. They have all called twice today.

Well today, ...

My mom in VA phoned my wife. When there's anything with any connotation of impact mom calls her. And yes, my middle brother having a heart attack is of impact. His wife drove him to the hospital. He had been having diarrhea the past few days, got up today and was doubled over a chair. His wife asked what was going on. He complained of hurting jaw, pain in one side. She waited hours in the parking lot until they come got her. He had blockage in the front and back. They got the front but due to its location could not get the back. They're putting him on medication. His wife waited in the parking lot because the hospital was closed to visitors. She was allowed in to talk to the doctor five minutes or so, and to see my brother for all of five minutes.

And then, ...

Me and wife sat here and watched WV DHHR and the governor's cabinet daily corona virus media update on the Youtube. Our take away from it was the four questions the media asked were left mainly unanswered and they were well thought questions. It boiled down too carry on social distancing, report out of state people if they don't self quarantine, keep the faith, we're sending out mail ballots so we need to ensure we vote.

"Anything else, you're on your own. We don't know. By the way we fumbled up reports of the two cases of death. They were misidentified by the health department. Now, we're going to verify with the hospitals and coroners. Oh, we did get half the masks we asked for and got those distributed appropriately to first responding crews, health department, corrections officers."

The first sentences were not actually spoken. It was though the implication of the "message" though.

There was no assurance of much other than doing as we are is working. No word on when stuff will reopen, more concern with getting the "engine" of the "grain belt" running again. Told my wife, "sure, leadership like that, I'm gonna run right out to vote or to mail in a ballot."

A good point to my day. Her dad called and had me clean his dog Luna's ears. It was raining. When I come back down. I stopped and looked over our irises. They're all doing well, the rain give them a subtle healthy green glow. If some don't bloom this year they will next. :)

Well the governor just called for a statewide shutdown in NC starting Monday at 5pm. Individual counties have been shutting down. My wife's job is still essential so that's good. I think mine is but no idea what my boss will do. I've got 2 weeks of vacation to use but if Noone is doing paperwork then who knows

Went to a super WM a couple days ago.
No paper products, except about 15 boxes of kleenex type tissues, that's it (I'm stocked on TP). Said 1 pr customer. I loaded 5.
Milk fridge was full up. Said 1 per and I loaded 3.
At the register, nothing said about the 5 tissues they barely had any of, but the milk of which they couldn't fit another gal in the fridge?, oh hell no, only 1 per customer.

I definitely am a cat lover. My two kitties died over five years ago and it’s still hard for me. They were like my children and friends.

But Luna is gorgeous. Does feral mean off the street stray? Mine were gotten off the streets here.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2020/03/27/coronavirus-serum-plasma-treatment/
The article seems to me, I may be wrong and read it wrong, but echo what I heard the Doctor say. That some, not all will develop antibodies and that means some/many wont and can as he said be just as susceptible to catching it again. Having it and recovering is not a iron clad guarantee you will have developed an immunity to it.
But here is hoping that a vaccine and a fantastic way to combat this is very close. :)

I understand! I’m in a crappy mood too. At least you’ve got all the food you need! Tomorrow just go sit outside on the ground and don’t think about anything. For like 20 minutes just sit on the earth and ground. You need it. You’ve got to release some of the stress somehow. It should help you feel better a bit.

I am not stressed to be honest I am keeping my cool at home and being the voice of reason and serenity. I have lost it other times like with that asshole who said infected should spread it to Trump supporters. That isn't a joke for the sickest mind. I was outside almost all day yesterday keeping far away from people.
