Just wondering if there has been a general consensus on the 0.20Ω vs. 0.30Ω Mesh Coils.
I'm about to pick up 1 or 3 PM80s and find that the 0.30Ω seems to sell faster than the 0.20Ω.
(Damn good reviews on this device!)

I didnt have good luck with the coils on the one I reviewed. Leaked and pooled up in the device on top. I used 70/30 liquid and if it sat for one day the entire pod would be drained. Didnt matter which coil I used.

Yikes! I've never heard a thing about it leaking. I found your Reddit review. Aside from the power and tank capacity (I won't be using mine full time), I wonder if it has something to do with pressure? Maybe the coil pushed back out just enough allowing liquid to pass? That's the only thing I can think of. I did a quick Google search and didn't see anything about leaking.

Since I've been bit by the occasional atomizer leaking into the mod overnight I was going to have hubby make me a 3D print of a small, 3 bay tray that I could put the pods in when not in use. I'd like to keep one bedside and one in my purse.

Did you have a preference of one coil over the other? Yeah, I think I'll try one for now. I hit a good sale of $24.

Hi! I'm writing a review on one of these and I really liked the 0.30Ω coils over the 0.20Ω, just felt like I got a better flavor, more restrictive airflow and managed to get a bit more battery life.

Welcome AmmR! Thank you for chiming in on this. Tony's review also showed him using the 0.30Ω coils and it had great vapor production and flavor. Good to know on the battery life. I'm glad you confirmed! If you're doing a YT review I'd be interested in viewing it.

I'm going to throw my 2 cents in here. I have (4) four PM80's and two more on the way. I love them!! In fact, I love them so much that I'm selling my 4 Vinci X Pod Mod kits.
The PM80's are lightweight, they vape really well, they charge really fast, and the pod fill port plug is 100x more durable than the rubber flimsy plug on the Voopoo Vinci's. I use the .2Ω coil that vapes best between 45W-60W I save for my ADV juices and I vape them at 45W consistently. The .3Ω coil that vapes vapes best between 32W-40W I use for cooler vapes like my fruits and "ice" juices and I consistently vape those at 33W. Both coils are outstanding IMHO.

Vaporesso has published a "how to" post on Instagram for the proper way to install the coils.

It is exactly like this:

If you're having leaking issues with the #TargetPM80, you shouldn't be! Make sure you're aligning the notches of your coils up correctly.
・・・・・・・・・・
Make sure that you assemble the coil in the correct way & avoid the issue of leaking! (Please notice that the two notches of coil should line up at 90° to the base), check this out! - Make sure you FIRMLY press the coil in tightly!

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your post, now I'll add my 2 cents. I have 3 PM80's because I have several Vaporesso mods that I've used for years with few problems. All of the PM80's failed within warranty and all failed in precisely the same way, that's a 100% failure rate. They won't power on with the fire button, only when the charge cable is inserted. Even then they come up in a factory state set to 5 watts. Going through the menu allows changing the power setting, but it won't retain the setting after power off. It looks like these failures are caused by juice leaking into the pod well and from there into the electronics compartment and soaking the circuit board. I'm glad you found a way to stop the leaks. I researched the leak issue and all answers point to the coil leaking when not inserted correctly. Well, that's as we call it in technical terms "bullshit" . They're covering up a design, manufactiuring or QA failure. And, since this happened to ALL my PM80's the issue of incorrect insertion of the coil is not attributable to user error. Vaporesso support has not replied to several emails on these failures. I'll order SMOK RPM 80 instead if I don't get my money back from Vaporesso. (Doubtful.) I gave Vaporesso the option of shipping all 3 back for engineering review, no reply.

I'm sorry you have such terrible issues. Either you got incredibly bad mods or I got incredibly lucky. I have not had any major issues and I will continue to keep on using them. It sounds like you have had a whole plethora of other issues from the get-go. I just know that it's not BS if the coils are inserted as shown because I did at the beginning of ownership have issues of leaking until I installed coils as shown and from then on, no leaks. I have never powered them off except when I put them in my purse, because I don't want them auto-firing in my purse. When I power them back up, they always go back to wattage that I had them at
Otherwise, they're running 24/7. I bought 3 of the 4 at www.perfectvape.com and I bought one locally at one of our B&M's. No problems with all 4 of mine and that to me is 100% success for me. Good luck with whatever you vape on and I truly do hope they give you your money back. I have had my own share of fun arguing with the Chinese at Aspire, but eventually they did give in and send me my money back.

I had a faulty 0.2Ω with the review sample but likely they sent me an extra pack which was handy as they are great coils. Personally I prefer the 0.2Ω coil as I find it has a greater tonality range. Perfect for fruits, Lemon Meringues and a custard slice is just yummy. I prefer to vape the 0.2Ω at around 48.5-50W. Hope that helps.

Thanks Melzie, hope you don't mind the shortening of your handle. For reference, I'm a retired IT Manager with over four decades of technology experience. If I tell you something electronic is not working, take it to the bank. Anyway, I'm so irked by this experience with a vendor that has a good reputation for building reliable products. The only reason I have three is because I couldn't believe I'd get two in a row that failed. When you get to that level of failures you can be pretty sure it's; an engineering issue, updated firmware or a change in pod manufacturers, something like that. I wasn't submitting a warranty item for replacement, I was trying to inform Vaporesso, and all their sellers, that there may be problems affecting an entire production run that they needed to investigate. FYI, I've been dealing with Chinese tech companies on and off since 1983. Boy have I got stories!

Damn, sounds familiar. You can expect them to stop powering up with fire button, it will only do that with charge cable connected. When it does turn on it will show 5w setting, you can change it but if you power down it will come back up to 5w. Oh, yeah that happened on three PM80's all under warranty. 100% failure rate. That's a shame cause when they work they are just AWESOME.

I'm not a new vaper and I have had my fair share of lemons. I may not have a career in IT, but I HAVE worked in production assembly for hard drives, and for Apple. I have repaired my fair share of mods- every vendor is going to have lemons roll off of the assembly line. They don't QA 100% of the devices that come off of the assembly line- they just can't. Time is money and more money is made by cranking those puppies out. They will likely QA 1 in 50 even as far as 1 in 100 if they're confident that the known issues are ironed out. If you're sent a new one to review, it is because it is a pre-release model and they WANT you to point out issues that come up so they know where to improve. Same is done with Giveaway recipients- they want to find out if they're liked enough to improve upon them so they can come out with subsequent editions. They advertise it as "Testers Wanted!" Think about the way work subsequent series- Aegis series, SMOK PRIV series, Vaporesso Target series, etc. We're all guinea pigs so they can find what is loved enough to invest the time and money to work on the issues that arise. Take it from someone who has won over $4000 in mods in the last 3 years. My bad eggs include: Aspire Skystars-all 4 of them fell apart within warranty periods and I had many late arguments with Aspire that it was not user error, Wismec Predator 228- loved the mod but it had 101 mechanical problems, Innokin MVP5- I put it to charge one night and it was dead the next morning, SMOK AL85 and TPRIVS- issues galore, Vaporesso Skrr Tank that was so highly touted, those tanks and coils were crap as were the Beast series tanks and coils, and even Freemax and Horizon Falcons- they've had lemons as well. I had received a brand new Falcon right out of release and it leaked everywhere! Point is, they're all going to have issues. I was wild about the Voopoo Vinci and Vinci X, but the fill port plugs on those pods break so easy because they're thin and flimsy. I BOUGHT all 4 of my Vaporesso Target PM80's well out of release- 3 from www.perfectvape.com and 1 locally and I had a few leaking issues when I first got them, then I started properly inserting coils as Vaporesso suggested and now I have NONE. I'm diligent about making sure those 2 notches line up perfectly and I haven't had a problem since I first bought them. The thing is we all want it faster, better, cheaper and when the manufacturer responds to the demand, something is gonna give. I'm just glad it's not my 4 PM80 mods. I just bought 2 of the PM80SE that just came out, so the verdict is still out on those. When I get them next week, I'll run them through the paces.
I truly hope both of you fare well in whatever works for you. As for me, I'll stay where I am with what I am very happy with.

Take Care,
Mel

People have taken them apart and you're absolutely spot-on there is a malfunction it's not leakage of eJuice. The soldering between the battery and the mod is incredibly weak like you don't even have to drop it just shipping could easily have done it. People take them apart and the battery is no longer connected and it's not when they're taking it apart that this happens. And it's not 10 or 20 people it's hundreds of people that have the exact same issue. I know because I was going to buy a few until I searched vaporesso pm80 problems and found hundreds upon hundreds of people with the same exact problem. It was incredibly apparent that that was the issue because most of these individuals also stated that the mod would come on when they put it on the charger but the minute they took it off the charger it would die again so when it's charging externally it works but immediately fails when taking off because it doesn't have a connection to an internal battery anymore.

Also adding something despite not being a pod style fan. Located a RDA/RDTA style pod for these. Even not using that, imho these look to be decent devices. Might even try one. The 4 ml pods seem adequate. Liking the looks of the SE version for its use of a swap-able 18650 and not relying on an internal battery.

ETA: Thu 05 Nov 2020 07:39:44 PM EST - After looking at a few reviews I've decided against one of these. Will only say there are a few things concerning them which to me are off putting. They do look good though if you want a pod system.
