smoke mag 225 replacement parts

Both of my smoke mag 225 mods will not lock the battery clip any more. The small screw in the button release will disassemble the lock. my mods are only a couple months old and i noticed a lot of wear on the pin. So, to temp fix this i put a tiny piece of wood in while holding the battery mag in. If anyone knows of a lock pin replacement part (most likely not) please post.

The exact same thing happened to mine within the first month.:( It was so disappointing because I really liked the mod! After the battery clip randomly fell on my foot several times, I returned it to MyFreedomSmokes without any issues. If I were you, I would reach out to the merchant you purchased your mod(s) from. It definitely seems like a manufacturing defect.

Here is the email i have sent [email protected]. BTW, I did a temp fix by removing the screw from the eject button and stretching the spring a little bit. Its not a fix but will hold the batts in. I have yet to receive a response.

I have 3 mag 225 mods. each one will no longer hold and lock the battery's in the device. I have had these less than three months. after a close inspection, it appears to be significant wear in the locking pin and mating part of the battery holder. I would like to request 3 new pins and battery holders as this can be fixed by removing one screw to repair. I would be glad to pay postage even though this is obviously a manufacturing and design defect.

I took the spring out and it will tighten up enough to hold the battery in you just have to loosen the screw to change them

I never did receive a response from smok. But, I did do a permanent fix. I just glued a thin shim to the battery holder opposite side of the the pin hole for a snug fit. So far it works great as long as i hold the bat holder in then push the button to minimize wear.

Thought you had a different problem and posted an irrelevant solution to this thread which I've since moved, however, was unable to delete this comment.

I’m going to try your idea, I have 2 Smok Mag 225 the first one I bought has the same problem the second one I bought I have never removed the batteries I just charge it with cable. I have the Smok Mag grip that has the single large battery I like it better than the other two. I probably have 10 Smok products & I’ve had great luck until this problem. I have an Alien with 41,777 puffs on it. I think Smok should do a recall on the Mag 225. I’ll send them an email & see if I hear back from them & let y’all know what I find out thanks for all the ideas from everyone!

I had a different problem with mine that I've been trying to fix. The 510 adapter came unseated and the main wire connection to it came loose. I soldered that back on and put the 510 connector back in, but the ground wire was also loose. I can't seem to get it to work just right.

Somehow it is a relief to know others have the same problems. The Smok Mag 225 has proven to be a very versatile and resilient unit; mine has lasted almost a year and I usually break them within a few months. This problem has gotten worse. It is obviously wear in that lock pin and the accompanying receptacle in the battery holder. Depending on the extent, you might be able to get away with just tightening both the release mechanism screw and the 4 screws on the bottom of the battery holder. I got away with just installing a stronger spring for awhile but the issue continues to get worse over time. I have also had some success in bending the lock pin back in place but that is riskier as it could break the thing altogether. I do swap out batteries once or twice a day as I keep 3 sets handy (1 in use, 1 recharging, and 1 standby). I was really hoping to find the spare parts I need but it doesn't seem likely to happen. I would still rate this as the best mod I've ever owned in my 8 years of vaping. If I can't find parts, I'll probably just epoxy the battery holder in place and charge via USB (so annoying).

The Alien 220 was an awful design, especially when paired with a TFV tank (leaky as all hell). The design in the Alien lets excess/leaked juice run right into the mod and cover the electronics resulting in erratic behavior and an early death. The Mag 225 doesn't have that problem. Also, the firing button on the Alien 220 wears rapidly and will not last the long haul - again the Mag 225 is the winner. I wouldn't be surprised if my Mag 225 has 500,000 puffs on it and the only problem I have identified is that stupid locking mechanism.

If you're having trouble with the Mag 225 battery sled falling out, I was able to fix mine by replacing the spring. You'll need a T5 screwdriver and a C-526 spring. I just took the screw out and cut the spring down to a little longer than the original. The new spring seems to hold it in quite well.

I posted this as a standalone post, but I figured I'd directly reply too
