So, I am trying to nail(haha) the Dinner Lady Lemon Tart. We’ll see how all that goes, but I do have a question to those of you that have tried this particular juice.

Do you taste Froot Loops?

No, it doesn't resemble fruit loops in any way, shape or form. It is more like a rich/lush jelly (jelly = in the American English sense of the word; in the UK it is called jam) that doesn't have the sharpness usually associated with fresh citrus flavorings so probably you'll need to experiment with acetyl pyrazine to replicate this, and, during the first few hours of vaping it, the bakery note gradually comes to (IMO perfect) balance, as initially the bakery note tastes "off" so this is a typical example of a juice the exquisiteness of which develops after you give your senses time to adapt, i.e. it's the opposite of instant gratification IMO.

Wouldn't you use liquid amber to jam something up rather than acetyl pyrazine. AP usually adds breadiness.

Hmmmm.....maybe. I’m looking for a bumping up the crust aspect with the AP. The jam/curd is almost there.....the Froot Loops would give both the AP and the lemon/lime citrus thing that’s there. I very highly doubt that they’re using liquid amber, but I definitely could be wrong. KISS with commercial juice. :)

I think maybe I just misunderstood what you were saying and missed the transition from jam being there to needing to bump up some crust. I know when I make anything strawberry jam adding strawberry ripe and strawberry sweet at an even ratio with about .25-.5% liquid amber creates a KILLER jam. If I want crust, so far TFA Graham Clear seems to be the best for me.

Lol! No worries! I’ve got 5 versions running right now and am confused about what I’ve tried and what I haven’t. Good call on the strawberry jam thing.....I might try that with a croissant recipe I’ve been toying with.

TFA graham clear is definitely a great crust, but I don’t think it’s in Dinner Lady.....but, again, I could be totally off. I’m thinking I’ll be into v10 by next week! Hahaha!

I haven't tried Dinner Lady so I can't help. I'm vaping VT LMT right now and can imagine it being steered into a fruitloops recipe. I think the lemon component is similar to the fruity cereal recipes I've tried. It's been ages since I've had a bowl of actual Froot Loops.

I'm by no means an expert, but I always thought AP also is used to help soften the kind of sharpness/harshness associated with citrus flavorings. Citrus based e-juices usually make me cough, but Dinner Lady Lemon Tart and Orange Tart do not, and, the breadiness might help to explain why I found that the bakery note in the Orange Tart initially had an "off" taste or character.

The certain type of sweet lushness (or voluptuousness, if you will) that I love so much about the Orange Tart (and about Barista Brew Co. Cinnamon Glazed Blueberry Scone) was initially absent, and the deep fruity-rich/full characteristic was initially recessed to the point of it being fairly reminiscent of what you'd expect from an infusion so that made it taste (again, initially...) kinda weird and "meh". It grew over the course of the first few hours of vaping it, whilst, at the same time also, the "off-ness" of the bakery note started to fade until gone. This all leads me to believe cloning it will be one tricky job to pull off.

Yes, it can. It does. It can also add deeper cereal notes. You def could be right about the AP mellowing out the citrus.

Lemon Tart is definitely a very lush, deep flavor. Complex, yet because it’s commercial, I’m almost certain it’s under 7 flavors. I’m on v6 right now and I’m getting closer, but there’s something elusive.......I love trying to figure out stuff like this! And I get a bunch of testers(that are damn good, but not quite the clone) to vape!

Yeah, I’ve read people taste Froot Loops in LMP, which is why I asked. What I taste is the lemon/lime thing.....which is Froot Loops. So now a few versions have Caps lemon lime and a few have Caps SL Fruit circles and One has both. And One has none of either. I think the lemon lime is adding something. Now I gotta work on the bakery aspect.......

Yeah, I've never had dinner lady so I really don't know. As far as cloning goes it's a tricky job. The reason I got into DIY about a month ago was that I was tired of paying $28 for a 60ml of either Dat Sugar Cookie Doh or Glas Sugar Cookie. So far I've successfully cloned the Glas Sugar Cookie to a T, also I've gathered about 50 flavor concentrates and made like 7 or 8 of my own killer recipes. I'm loving this DIY thing. I get what you're saying about that elusive ingredient. I'm having trouble with Dat SUgar cookie. There is definitely a hint of black cherry in the background and a good amount of marshmallow and super sweet because it leaves a sugar residue on your lips when you vape it. There is one elusive ingredient I can't seem to nail yet, but the testers are still wonderful. I'm wondering if I just haven't let the Caps Sugar Cookie steep long enough yet.

Caps sugar cookie is a wonderful flavor! It can fade after a while, but I just bump it with a touch of FA or FLV Cookie or INW Biscuit to keep it going.

There’s always an elusive ingredient! And this is a UK juice so there could be a flavor in it that I’ve never heard of. Or would have a harder time getting.

Hello wildgypsy70..
Thank you for your great efforts in the vaping world.
But do you have any update on the DL LT clone?
I tried alot of combinations, but the bakery note that juice has is impossible to get!! Any ideas?
Thanks again.

Yes. To me it tasted like TFA Fruit Circles with crust and cream. I never bought it again because, to me, you could make any fruity cereal vape and it would be close enough to save a lot of money.

edit: oops, this thread is old.

So what I am doing now is:
TFA fruit circles 3-3.5%
Cap cereal 27 2%
Cap sugar cookie 1%
FA meringue 1%
Golden butter 0.5%
TFA berry cereal 0.75%
FA sicily lemon 1%
Sweet tangerine 0.5%
But still something is missing with the bakery.

Any detailed recipes you could share?

Thanks.

It’s not a Dinner Lady Lemon Meringue recipe but I love Nevans on ELR Lemon Meringue Pie - the best yet. I too would love to find a way to mix the Dinner Lady recipe but so far no one has had any luck totally nailing it. I have tried so many recipes.

I blew some out one time and a freind said, "Now you're vaping fruity cereal?" and laughed. They said it smelled good though. My first impression was fruity cereal. But after getti g to know it, that went away. The bright lemon is the star of the show. I don't get "buttery crust" or anything I've heard described. It's a bright pretty strong lemon with a bit of creaminess.

mmmm this is different! the flapper pie is a great idea, the butteryness would do perfect!

Heartsdelight Mykreign Wildgypsy70 I really appreciate your guidance..
I will give it a go and post if I got anything new, maybe alittle toasted marshmallow would add something to it too..
Thanks again guys

It’s funny how we all taste differently. I definitely taste lemon, but also the buttery biscuity crust.

Hello! I wish I did! @VAPEROXX and I were working on it, simultaneously and separately, but determined that they may be using a proprietary flavor. I had at least 30 different versions, some closer than others, but the bakery was never quite right.

My assessment above is a bit inaccurate. It tastes like one of those lemon cookies my grandma used to get. It's like one of those sandwich styled cookies with lemon frost? Is that what it's called, creme maybe? Like an Oreo but a generic lemon (white cookie) oreo? I don't get any of the texture though. It's like a chewed up one of those lol.

Lemon sandwich cookies! I love those things!

If that's what it tastes like, I can take a swing at it too. Five flavors: the right lemon (which I may not have), cap sugar cookie, inw shortbread, frosting, super sweet, would be my first guess.

Yes the lemon is key. I've got quite a few lemon flavors. None are like DLLT though.

It's bright and sweet. If I had to guess, they used a high percentage of lemon flavor or flavors. It's the main aspect to me when tasting it.

Most of the clones Ive seen, the mixer uses a Lemon Meringue Pie (or similar) flavor. I'm not confident that Dinner Lady went the same route. Unless I haven't tasted the right one... The LMP/LT flavors I've tried are not even close, even with help (I imagine). I think they did it from scratch. I could be way off but I wouldn't ignore Lemonade flavors. Those can be altered into bakery. I think I've seen you do this

Let me describe what I taste and smell:

Smell ALOT of white Oreo cookies 50% (fruit loops in a way when you vape/taste it)
Lemon juice 30% with 5% lemon peel.
Butter 8%
Sweet sugary fruity berreyish taste that gives it life 7%

And I think whats crucial, a throat hit in your face (peppery sensation) hits more than a 9% nicotine while its only a 3%. That gives the flavor a different kick!

Note: personally to taste igredients better when trying to clone juices, I dilute the OG with 20-30% VG/PG (50/50) mix.. separate flavors get alittle more defined.

I don't want to hijack Gypsy's thread any further, so I'll post any more of my own follow-up in the daily mixing thread. Sorry @wildgypsy70 !

I'm in agreeance with the use of proprietary flavors, I've tried cloning this and the blueberry one with no luck.

So....I mentioned this in the DMT, but I’ll say it here, too.

I was watching Fresh03 and he mentioned a flavor that was proprietary and has now been released to the public. Chemnovatic Lemon Cream Wafer(available at DIYVS). If you smell it, it’s spot on DLLT.

@VAPEROXX and I had talked about the main bakery flavor being proprietary....which is why we got close, but not dead on. This flavor may get us a lot closer. Chemnovatic is a huge flavoring company.....They also own(?) Molinberry. And they’re European. Makes sense that DL would use them, being a British juice company.

That would be awesome if can match it, it's one flavor I still buy a lot of, be great if could save money and mix it instead :)

I’m going to pick up a few more Chemnovatic flavors.....like the lemon and cookie. They could be using all Chemnovatic flavorings? Wouldn’t surprise me.

Still a work in progress. I’m gonna need Beta testers, though. You interested?

I have the Lemon and Vanilla Pudding. The Lemon Cream Wafer seems like it's the one. It's that lemon cookie part I was tasting in the original. I mixed it at 2% and like you, am pretty much convinced that's it. What it's missing is more lemon brightness and a whole lot of sweetness.

My tester with the Lemon flavor could possibly be the right one, but I think I over shot it at 2%. I'm going to try it lower and see what I think.

I was going to ger the Sweet Cream also and am mad I didnt.. O'well next time I guess. I haven't been this excited in a while!

I just ordered the CMV Lemon! And I have the Vanilla Pudding. Maybe a mix of all 3? I don’t know yet. I’ll be testing more tomorrow.
