Gear Upgrade

One or two of you might remember me from years ago. I've flown under the radar and just vaped since around 2013 or so.

Anyway, I change gear at a glacial pace. When I find something that works I just stick with it. I've vaped nothing but my Grant's Vanilla Custard clone since 2014 if that says anything. My first mod was a 14500 Copper. I soon got a Silver Bullet and stuck with that and 306s for a long time. When the Kanger Subtank came out it changed how I vaped, and shortly after that I got a Cthulhu rta. There are like 6 of those in my vape cabinet, I stuck with it for a long time. Then came the OBS Crius, which I only retired like 10 days ago. My long term Reuleaux RX2/3 that replaced my Cuboids also needed an update after years of service.I burned up my BMI putting the batteries in wrong in a dark room. Pisses me off that such an expensive mod didn't have reverse polarity protection like just about any cheap Chinese mod would.

In the last 10 days my vape gear has completely turned over. I now have two Reuleaux RX gen3's and two Asmodus Lustro Kodamas. I bought an Advken Manta rta and loved it so much I now have three of them. Picked up a Geekvape Peerless rda so I'd have something for dialing in juice recipes. Lastly got a gold QP Design Fatality M25 to go with my brass Kodama for the matchy matchy. Lots of new toys and vaping is more fun than it's been for a while. If I add anything more I may snag a Dovpo Odin if they ever drop from $180, or if Uwell releases a matte version of the Evdilo I'd be very tempted.

Once again new hardware has changed the way I vape. I'd always stuck with straight kanthal because my tanks had fairly small decks. Now I'm using up all my old twisted and have some Clapton in the mail. The worst part is, I'm vaping at 80w now. I'd better order some VG.

Just checking in. See you guys in another 5 years lol

I agree, the manta's an enjoyable rta. Cheap, simple, good flavor. A little cramped for build space but otherwise not an overly fiddly rta. Don't have to tease the wicks and brush them and braid them and all that nonsense. I've got an m25 clone coming if they ever get enough purell into China to get shit moving again. I'm a cheap bastard and the authentics are running $60-70+, $17 seemed much more my speed.

I just saw that Carrack had them for $45, of course I find that after I bought one for $60

you won't see me in 5 years. they will have me Tarred & Feathered long before that . :D

I see it more like the scene in Frankenstein when the angry villagers have pitchforks and torches at the ready! :creepy:

When did you order? I was reading the virus reaching Shenzhen.

I don't get your point. A scythe will likely be quicker so less suffering... it's just a simple gear upgrade IMO (look at the title of the thread). :D

Okay, so you can be upgraded and look spooky. If you get a nice hooded cloak, so much the better.

I ordered Jan 24th. A few items in my order, flush cutters, cleaning brushes, the airlab rda clone and m25 clone were pushed back. Then pushed back again. Saw a notice from FT that due to Chinese funk flu things were on lockdown until 2-10. One of the items the eta to get in stock was pushed to 2-21.

They since updated again, funk flu lockdown has them expecting shipping to return to normal 2-17. Eta on the m25 is 2-25 and a couple of the items eta got pushed to March 2nd. Which I believe that's eta for FT to get shit in their hands, then it can be sorted for shipping. So at this rate earliest I can expect stuff is mid to late March, maybe even April if they're still finger fucking it through the postal service and customs.

And that’s if there’s nothing really amiss with this virus. The Chinese could quarantine large amounts of people, who knows? I read that people are trying to flee Shenzhen. Our vape gear is made there, fleeing folks...

I just got something from Cigabuy, a Tesla Nano 120 (Steampunk) mod. I didn’t open it for a few days and I had it in a bag. Like that was going to do anything! :teehee:

Just built my new resin Manta. Geez these are killer for under $20. Comes with both the resin glass and the glass bubble from the regular kit. Maybe it's my imagination but it seems like it dissipates heat better than the standard Manta because I could swear this tank is cooler on my lips when I sit and chain vape it. After the first couple failed Manta builds I just started cramming as much wick into the ports as I could manage, and that is absolutely the answer for this tank. Wicks great and no leaking, not even on fill. At this point I am calling this the best rta I ever used. Not finicky to wick, will handle a ton of power, airflow options to make everyone happy, and best of all outstanding flavor. Really love these.

Got my first Fatality M25 in today's mail. Looking forward to throwing a build on it and seeing how it compares to the Manta.

got the batteries for my Odin today. I won't ever have to guilt trip myself about not hitting the gym, I can just vape the Odin. Holy crap it's a chunk.

done buying gear. Now have a 7 day set that consists of

Dovpo Odin matte black/Fatality M25 matte black
Dovpo Odin(DNA) gunmetal/Fatality M25 gunmetal
Asmodus Minikin Kodama 21700 blue/Fatality M25 stainless
Asmodus Minikin Kodama 21700 purple/Fatality M25 rainbow
Asmodus Lustro Kodama purple/Fatality M25 gold
Asmodus Lustro Kodama green/Advken Manta resin coffee
Ultroner EOS II red/Advken Manta black

My gear should stay in good working order a long time switching between this group, and I also have some NOS regulated mods and a parallel box in the cupboard for backups as a hedge against chip failure. I should be vaping regulated a good long time no matter what is coming. I still may pick up an Isolation rta because I've been interested in that one, and if something new comes out that I can't live without I'll make room, but otherwise my itch is scratched.

With those setups, I’m not surprised you’re done. Nice!
