You MAX VG vapers have a higher chance of catching the flu than I do.

The juices I vape contain only about half the amount of PG when compared to your 50/50 juices. But probably I vape a dozen or so times more juice than you do so still getting about 6 times more PG than you, and, I haven't had the flu or real bronchitis ever since I switched from smoking to vaping just over 3 years ago, just the common cold very occasionally that lasted only a few days each time... whereas when I was a smoker I had slowly gotten to a point where I was getting rather severe bronchitis almost 3 times each year and was taking 3-4 weeks to recover each time so yes, it works, I am living proof.

OK so then the amount of PG you go through is roughly the same as me. I used to go through only about 85ml a week or more, but as I gradually started to get more and more into using a series mech with bigger coils, this has almost tripled.

How much PG is "enough"?
"Max VG" usually means 15/85 to 10/90 PG/VG

For all we know 10/90 PG/VG is enough

I do have some anecdotal evidence on PG.:)

I caught a superbug at the hospital in 2012 while getting a joint replacement surgery
It was a streptococcus type.
I quit smoking / started vaping (2012 juice was 80/20 PG/VG) the day I went in to get the infected joint replacement removed.
The infection vanished and never returned.

Good point on how much is needed. Mine is a bit over 50% PG. I use 50/50 PG/VG and some PG is in the flavoring. I use low percentage flavoring though.

You know if PG inhaled does prevent/kill Flu and such is is a gross disservice to humans not to publish and distribute FLU pens.

Naah silly me no patent or giant profits on it.
Only save lives if it make you money.

Just some unflavored PG. No one would get in a habit of vaping that.

It could be a holistic style medicine that's like a vape with 100% PG.
Make it look medicinal and give it a slick name and you'll be in business :D

Thanks Had not seen that one.
So it appears that lower concentrations of PG also kill the germy things but takes longer or you have to vape more?

I wonder if they have results on whether the long term effects are “deleterious” or not. I’ll have to up my PG a bit, now that I’ve been coughing and sneezing.

I have been vaping 50/50 for 4.5 years and I have been vaping 120 ml/week for the past couple of years.
I soar real good :)

Might be a good idea to make it a habit to exhale vapor through the nose, at least once in a while.

I admit, I hate exhaling vapor through my nose. Makes the nostrils all wet...hate that. Even 50/50.

But it may be worth it sometimes.

*reads title* You MAX VG vapers have a higher chance of catching the flu than I do.
*sees who posted thread*

I see how it is. Going to keep me around forever and then some. My grandma told me to eat fruit preserves because well they preserve us too. Reckon I'll add a little more PG to my base next time I order. Still use some if I add flavorings. Not had any flu since 1978. Refuse flu shots too. I know how the idea of letting your body fight dead virus works. My point though is how stupid to give your body something it doesn't have or want/need. If you don't get the flu anyway why go to the trouble of getting "indoctrinated" to fight it?

Anything over 50 vg bothers my lungs. Generaly im 50 50 or 60pg 40. Not sick yet at all
Anything over 30 PG starts to taste chemical to me in a very recognizable, unique, non-mistakable kind of way. So far I found only one exception to that, Medusa Pink Diamond, which uses 40... probably it's the menthol in that one that masks out the PG taste. Ohmboys Drip City Jabane uses 35, and, I could taste the PG. Whereas Illusions The Prophet also uses 35, yet, the PG taste in that one appears much more elusive in comparison to me because often times I don't actually even notice it right away.

I think high VG juices don't work at all well with the type of coils that don't pull juice out of the cotton wicks really fast. With the wrong coil types it's as if the coils dry out causing something reminiscent of a semi-dry hit towards the end of my drag unless I keep my drags shorter than the 2-3 second drags that I usually take... the "feel" of the vape just needs to remain both wet and dense all the way through to the end of the drag or else my lungs start feeling heavy in no time.

I use no PG. I'm allergic to the stuff; it makes my throat itch. I thin my all VG juice with 10% distilled water. Works like a champ.

So does eating food.:D
yeah kind of a proper dosage and application thing I suppose with both items.

And yes obesity related deaths are catching up to smoking deaths as the largest preventable cause of death.
And if vaping kicks in will soon become number 1 on the death hit parade.

I wonder how the future of obesity related deaths looks for states that legalized herb?
LOL
Fast food sales are up.

Might be surprised. A lot of the culture regarding herb is geared toward staying healthy. Yes, they might eat like horses but I would suspect the social aspect of herb would offer education, moderation to the aim of keeping one another healthy.

What happens if you want to get together with friends if they're all gone? Oh. Excuse me, realized a lot if not nearly all my face to face friends are either dead, or have gone on living their lives and we've drifted apart. Wow, that's a bit of a kick in the head. My point being it isn't any fun trying to get messed up without friends.

Oh yeah? Fuck you life! Just fuck you!

When you're messed up, even without friends you could still watch Bob Ross on Vice. :D

Max vg users have a higher chance to catch the flu? That implies that using VG gives you a higher then normal chance of getting the flu. A more accurate statement might be that PG users have a lower chance of getting the flu. Which is true, PG is an antiseptic and I have read an old study that reported less illness when it was used in the vents of (I think) a childrens hospital. It is also FDA approved as a cleaning/disinfecting agent for food preparation services.

But my intestines generally don't like anything over 15% PG and I hate PG in general. It's said to be tasteless, but it isn't to me. Tried vaping some straight once and nearly vomited from the god awful taste. All the PG in my mixed liquid is purely from flavoring and nicotine so generally makes up around 5-10% of the liquid. I haven't had the flu since 2008, and before that only had it around 2000-2002, but I didn't start vaping until 2011 so anecdotal evidence that vaping had no effect on me getting the flu.

Somewhat easy to remember given that I rarely get the flu and DON'T get a flu shot
One could argue that the 12 year stretch now without it was helped by vaping, but there is one key difference among the times I that I did and didn't get the flu. WORK. 2000-2002 I worked at a local grocery store and often helped as a cashier, in 2008 I worked at a Walmart and helped out as a cashier for a few months. Working as a cashier you interact with lots of people during the day and handle lots of stuff that they also touched. Money is ridiculously dirty, it's like a petri dish for germ breeding. The stretches of time that I didn't get the flu was when I was doing jobs where I DIDN'T interact with lots of people and handle money. Working elsewhere in the store or had other jobs such as working in warehouses and (for the past 5 years) a truck driver.
