Figured out the 'Atomizer Low' issue... sooo frustrating. And a question!

So, a few days ago, I posted that I was having some trouble with my Eleaf iStick TC60W mod-thing throwing an error about 'atomizer low'.

I figured out that it was not, in fact, the coil needed reseated. I was still having a few difficulties... I could 'hit' it, but then it would go back to that bloody error. My niece was letting me use her mod-thing, but hers isn't happy about going less than 30W, and that is WAY too strong for me... I had an idea about going back to the battery I was using with my Eleaf... not having any issues now. So far. So, now I've got this spare battery that my Eleaf clearly does not like. Bleh.

Frustration, it's abundant.

So, I'd really rather NOT try to return it, since that will be a pain in the ass. My question is, do you all have a recommendation of a mod-thing that's compatible? The battery in question is a 2500mAh Lithium Ion Polymer Battery 18650 Cylindrical Cell 3.7V ICR18650... I've contacted the seller of the battery, asking for their recommendation, too, because, like I said, I don't want to try to return it. LOL

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't worry about that battery at all. I wouldn't buy batteries on ebay again for your safety. There are two battery vendors in the US that most of us get our batteries from. Liionwholesale.com, imr.com..

The issue with the batteries bought from non authorized dealers is the batteries can be rewrapped to put whatever label on they choose which is bad for you as a customer and vaper. Most battery wraps come with a higher rating than what the battery actually can safely handle.

There are 4 main companies for batteries. LG, Sanyo, Sony and molicel. Liionwholesale.com has all of those and cheaper than your ebay battery that were not really sure is safe. The battery is the heart of the vape you use so you want to get a good one if you know what I mean.

I use molicel P26A daily. There is a guy called Mooch that does battery testing on his own for the safety of vapers like us. If you Google your battery or any lithium ion battery and type mooch behind it in the Google search it will take you to his performed tests for that battery. I'm glad you came back with this one. Batteries are the most important part of vaping in my opinion.

Well if you're looking to pick up another mod. Here's a listing by FastTech of mods that will use 18650 batteries. Here's also a listing from 3FVape. One I might suggest would be this one from Innokin. It would let you try out different atomizers and find your style of vaping. It also won't push your battery unduly. Here's another suggestion which keeps things open for you to explore.

I could not exactly suggest one in particular for you. Though I'm sure @The Cromwell, @JuicyLucy , perhaps even @AndriaD might offer some guidance. I'd suggest their advice given it reads as though you seem to be what at one point was called a toodle puffer vaper.

I'm kind of an all over the board sort but now am mostly lost with what I'm using roughly 18.5 watts but do so using direct lung hits on a .40 Ω coil at the moment. At present I'm still using the Topside Lite regulated mod I recently bought on a lark. Swapped out the Gorge RDA for a "Trinity" deck last night. Might be the Topside likes the Trinity. Might be I've found my building sweet spot too with 2x26 awg SS316L twisted wire. At any given it's rocking clouds this morning.

All this will probably sound Greek to you. :) Nothing wrong or to be ashamed of if it does. You're learning and that's okay. You'll eventually be rattling off Greek too. *chuckles*

You can add Samsung batteries, and LiionWholesale.com to the short list.(see post # 2)

Don't even try to use that battery you linked, in anything beside a flashlight or such, not vaping. It's not a vaping battery just because the size(18650) is the same. Your device probably malfunctioned with it because it doesn't have enough amps. Don't trust what the label(wrap) says. They lie, and that's hazardous for us. The batteries aren't made for vaping, we just use them for such. Battery Mooch is the world's premier battery tester for vaping. He has recommended battery and vendor lists to help make sure we get the best batteries for our particular use, which is based on particular gear and the ohms.

Aside from choosing a mod and tank(atomizer), which are preferential choices based on how you want to vape, the most important component for functionality and safety is the battery. The very best place to learn what batteries, is here and Mooch. Unless you have a highly experienced friend/family and if any of those allowed you to buy that battery, well...

What all this means is you need a genuine (there are fakes), premium battery from a vendor trusted to sell authentic(vendor list).
To stay as safe as possible it needs to have sufficient amps to supply enough power to the coil.
At the moment I'm leaning towards recommending Samsung 30Q <-- see how we define batteries? And that tells us everything we need to know. 2500Mah 3.7V ICR18650 does not. The 30Q is Mooch rated @ 15-18A (amps) and that's enough for 50watts or so without running a risk of overheating the battery. The run time between charges is good with 30Q(and others).

the tank I bought was a Fireluke2 FreeMax.......going less than 30W, and that is WAY too strong for me
If this is your tank, and your using one of the 2 coils that came with (.2/.15)? What coil? And what watts under 30?
Also, is your Istick TC60W working now? With the other battery? What other battery is that??
Or are you still using the borrowed mod and need a mod too?

Guess I missed something. Ah, buying batteries from Ebay. Okay, it didn't register. Have to agree that's not something to do.

Guess morning coffee is important. Lets me correlate better.

What brand is the battery? Some battery sellers are notorious for falsely labeling batteries.. IE.. a 10A 18650 rewrapped and labeled 20A. On the plus side, in a regulated mod you get an error, on the vastly negative side..in a mechanical mod (no protection) 20A is pulling 2x the actual manufacturer recommended power. So your nice little 0.20 ohm coil instead of pulling 20A is drawing 20A from a 10A source causing heat, swelling, venting and BOOM. Think of your fuse box at home.. to much power going through a 20A fuse and it blows. That is your protection. Batteries do not have fuses, sooooooooooooooooo......
