Need advice on recipes for tabacco coffee caramel flavors?

I recently quit smoking thru vaping & a friend did too. They like American patriot by naked 100 mixed with emericano by gold leaf (American patriot is a tabacco caramel profile & emericano is a tabacco coffee profile), & my ADV are butterscotch reserve by glas & Jw (Jon Wayne) by uncle junks, also I mixed 50/50% of gmt & royal oak both by gold leaf & got a very good flavor. My ADV’s I’ve found recipes for & seem to be straight forward to mix by weight yet I’m having trouble finding recipes for a tabacco coffee caramel flavors to mix a flavor for my friend. Could use some advice or tried & vaped recipes from y’all if willing to help a newbie at diy ejuice mixing?? Thank you Troy!

Thank you for your advice and suggestions! I will check these out & see what I can come up with. The diy mixing is new for me & going to stick with tried & true recipes to start off with till I can get a good feel for flavorings & %’s. According to my calculations diy mixing “should save $$ in the long run once I can get a little experience & time with doing this. Thank you again for your help & advice & I will for sure listen to someone like yourself that has the time & experience doing this!!!

Welcome @Troy2564 and I hope you enjoy your stay~!

I don't concentrate on making just one Tobacco because my tastes change so frequently if I mixed up a 250 ML bottle it might go to waste. What I do is what I like to call Mood Mixes. Meaning what kind of mood am I in right now? I will throw Coconut into a tank just for a change up or mix a Double Fresh Cream 60 ML bottle. Next time could be a Dark Cherry Tobacco. Many I do not even write down the recipe. Good Luck and Happy Vaping.~!

Thank you for your welcome! This site is trick for someone like,(computer illiterate). I can do basic searches but after that I get lost trying to look up recipes on here. As for your advice I will keep that in mind when mixing for myself, for sure! Don’t want to waste ejuice,is expensive for me,on social security disability, yet for my friend, I’ve tried to get them to try other flavors & in 6 months of vaping only 2 flavors & just recently they mixed those 2 flavors & like it & that’s why I’m trying to find recipes for that profile. Myself I’ve tried several different flavors and willing to venture out farther lol. I’m not sure how to search this site to find a particular flavor profile so I’ll keep trying. I do use eliquid recipes.com as well. Recently got into building coils & using RTA’s RDA’s & until I can get some diy ejuice mixed up of my own I’ll have to stay with my sub ohm tanks. My RTA’s & rda’s inhale the ejuices, lol.

I’ll check out the site you linked & solo test like you said. I’m curious about these recipes, they have vendors flavors & %’s, with the %’s, looks like these ejuice calculators adjust %’s for different bottle sizes, are these recipes one size fits all with these ejuice calculators making adjustments for different bottle sizes? It looks simple to make these recipes yet when it comes to actually making them it gets tricky with flavors & really trying to slow myself down so don’t waste money. I know I’m going to make some mistakes & have to redo some recipes & trying to be realistic about my learning these things & keep my expectations low for now till I can get some time & experience. Thank you as well lucy & plan on doing like you said, talk to you soon.

I tried to read that link but had an issue with getting tha norton, will have to wait till payday, yet I’ll read everything I can find till my order gets here Friday. My flavor order got here yesterday & I’ve got 25 different flavors to start with & a gallon of veg & a liter of pg & 240mls of 100mg/100%pg nic base coming tomorrow. That should be enough to start my testing process. Will start with 10ml sizes to get recipes started. I’ve got 3 different flavor profiles that I’m starting with. That’s enough for a newbie, lol. Thanks again!!

Depends on how you mix. by volume (syringes) or by weight (scale).
Weight is always and will be more accurate, depends on how anal you want to go with your mixing.
I mix by weight, and it took me months to get my numbers correct on the elr website.
Math is something I do up inside my head haha!!

Take your time. Solo's will be your friend forever. Think on what you taste and how to work it into a recipe.
I know being new makes it seem so hard!
once you get the hang of things, you will look at menus and when you go out, restaurants, bars and even the grocery store..
It will become so second nature, and you will be tickled to get to mixing up good juices.

Any questions, just ask. This site has some good folks here.. I pop in when I can. :)

Hi Troy, welcome to VU!

Calculators adjust drops, mililiters, or grams for different bottle sizes. The percent is specified by the person who enters the recipe, and stays the same regardless of the size bottle.

So for example if you are mixing a 30ml bottle of eliquid, If you need to add 1% of a particular flavor, 1% of 30ml is 0.3ml, which is calculated by multiplying 30 x 0.01 (this is the part the eliquid calculator would work out, as well as the corresponding grams or drops, depending on your settings). But for that same 1%, if your bottle was 60ml, you'd need 0.6ml to meet that requirement of 1%.

The way I found to reduce the overwhelming nature of learning to mix is just to focus on one thing at a time. Set all your supplies up on a surface where there is enough room to be organized. Pull out only the flavors you need for the recipe you are working on. Put them in the same order in which they are listed in the recipe. As you use your components, set them to one side, together, to indicate they've already been used.

I mix directly into the bottle the liquid will be stored in. I measure in my nicotine, then flavors, then PG, using the grams or drops that my calculator specified for each of these components. Then I fill the bottle with VG to within about 1/2" of the top (to allow room for shaking/mixing). Cap the bottle, shake/tilt/roll it around for a few minutes, label it, and then let it rest. You can pick it back up every now and then, maybe twice a day, and give it another shake. Steep time depends on the recipe, and will be something you'll have more of a feel for as you learn. Most recipes are better if you let them rest until at least the next day, but some require considerably longer steep time than that.

I use a small scale that I ordered off Amazon, cost $10-11. It measures to 0.01 gram. I started off using pipettes and syringes, thinking that would be simpler, but it really isn't. I then went to a graduated cylinder for a while. In retrospect, I think I'd have been more comfortable if I had just ordered a scale in the beginning. I do not mix very large batches of eliquid, so the small scale works fine for me.

Here's the link:
Scales that have a "Tare" button can be recalibrated to zero no matter what the container sitting on the scale actually weighs. This way you can actually get the weight of the contents you are adding to the container. So set a bottle on the scale, a 30ml empty bottle weighs somewhere around 7.5 gm, scale reads 7.5 gm. Press the Tare button, the scale returns to zero, even though the bottle is still sitting on it. Add 2.07 grams of nicotine, press Tare and the scale returns to zero. Add 0.35 grams of super sweet, press Tare and the scale returns to zero. Easy peasy this way. Just go slowly so you don't overshoot the amounts called for by your recipe.

I hope this helps. It's exciting to see someone getting started. Let us know how you're doing!

Thank you for taking the time to answer my ?’s nadalama! I really wanted to start mixing but that’s not going to happen anytime soon. The love of my life passed away yesterday morning. I woke up & went to check on her getting ready for work & found her laying in the floor & tried to bring her back doing cpr but couldn’t!! I failed her!!!!!!! Oh god this hurts so bad to write & cant stop crying! The silence is deafening & I keep waiting on her to walk in the room & she never does! Our dog keeps looking for her & knows something is wrong! He walks around with his head down & tail down when he was full of life 36hrs ago! I miss her so much!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to say good bye to her today at the funeral home. This house & my heart feels so damn empty!!!!!!!!

So sorry to hear this sad, heart breaking news and my condolences. Be strong and go on to live your life as I am sure she would want you to. My thoughts and prayers will include you and your family.

Thank you Steve!! I’m just putting one foot in front of the other right minute to minute. I’m going to do my best to respect her wishes in staying in our house & taking care of our dog & cats! There are some legal issues I got to deal with to make that happen & contacted a lawyer yesterday & will see hopefully Monday! After I can get these things dealt with & honor CAROL with these wishes of hers I’ll get back to starting on mixing up a few recipes. One of the sad things is CAROL was looking forward to mixing her flavors! Thank you again for your prayers & thoughts & caring enough to respond to emotional out cry last night!!! I just needed to go thru it!

So sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

2% Caramel FlavourArt
2% Dark Bean (Coffee Espresso) FlavourArt

Too ALL that has responded to messages: THANK YOU for your thoughts and prayers!!!!! As said it’s not easy yet little by little I’m slowly getting my mind back! I’ve even got mixing supplies put on back on table. I want to mix yet I just can’t bring myself to start yet. I quit smoking for her cause she quit & I couldn’t smoke around her,my heart wouldn’t let me so I research vaping & we both started at same time & after 2 months vaping I quit smoking & the day she passed I came SO CLOSE to smoking but keep telling myself not to react to the pain, just keep doing what you been doing. I have to tell myself that over & over so many times a day just so I don’t react to the pain & fear & little by little life creeps back in & then it rests its ugly head “I’m back” your buddy “pain:heartache:fear”! Yet there is light I see at times so I got my mixing supplies out to push me over to start. Maybe by looking at it every time I walk by it will help to take action soon. I do really want to mix & learn & yet when I want to start I just can’t yet soooo..... I guess it’s not time yet. Thank you again to all for thoughts and prayers!! You know who you are & that will come back to you!! Firm believer in what comes around goes around!!
