Reminds me of a redneck joke "what were the redneck's last words?"... "watch this!"

I then asked him what about if there was a malfunction in the mod or the fire button was inadvertently held down.
If there's a malf in the mod that causes it to fire continuously I don't know as the battery's CDR being high enough for the wattage you vape it will save you, anyway. As for the fire button inadvertently getting held down in-pocket: Fire lock.

That being said: Was in a local vape store a couple weeks ago where the owner was instructing a newbie on battery care. Everything she was telling the prospective customer was guaranteed to shorten battery life, not prolong it. I bit my tongue and left.

Iknow this is a bit off topic but i would buy my batterys from carrackvape or something instead of lisetning to the bullshit from that guy about pulse and shit.

Like i've been there with a few vape shops here in norway. Ended up ordering EVERYTHING from the internet cause its not really tempting to listen to people that pretends to know everything about vape and then they don't know shit.

The girl at my local vape shop basically tells people to look up mooch's battery rating which I think is a fairly safe way of doing things cuz it's what most of us do anyway isn't it? I mean she can give you the basics though. But then again she also swears up and down that all Vape juice goes bad a year after it was made....

I was just in my local vape shop and I couldn't believe what the employee was saying. I asked if they had any LG hb's and he said all they have is Sony batteries. He asked me why I would want the LG's and my response was that they have a higher CDR.

He then started telling me that the pulse rating is what matters, "because we pulse when we vape". I asked him to define a pulse and he told me a pulse is 2 seconds. He said "like a vtc5 has a 20a rating but the pulse rating is 80a so you can safely use it at 80a". I then asked him what about if there was a malfunction in the mod or the fire button was inadvertently held down. "Well you will vent a battery". Then he told me "everyone around here uses pulse ratings and uses an 80a limit on these batteries". I replied "well then someone around here is going to get hurt".

I am pretty disgusted that this guy is reccomending this stuff to his customers without any idea what they do or don't know about vaping safety. The worst part is the owner of the store was sitting there silently listening to the whole conversation.

I've never liked the thought of FDA regs, but damn this makes me think it might be for the best if this is what shop workers are reccomending. This same shop worker has given me really bad information in the past too that was thankfully corrected on this forum.

There is another worker in the shop as well, that a few weeks ago when I was considering buying a mech, was bragging about building at 0.05 on a single battery mech. He then started bragging saying "I've vented 13 batteries and look, I still have all of my fingers and teeth. You just need to be ready to throw the mod if you hear it start to hiss".

I just had to share this. Maybe I'm misinformed and there is nothing wrong with the reccomendations these guys are giving out, but I doubt it. Idiots like this are what will kill vaping. I'm certainly not going to buy anything from them again.

The store is vapeology in Bangor, Maine. Thankfully there is another shop down the road.

I hate knowledgeable vape shops owners who are more concerned about a sale

Here's a good one. Right before I ordered my Dovpo Odin mod from Element, I stopped at a local BM to see what they had. Dude tells me he can get anything I want so I told him what I was looking for and he looked at me like a deer in the headlights. Had no idea what Dovpo, Odin or a DNA250c even were. :giggle:
