Thanks. I'm sure I will give it another try at some point. I'm just stuck now in that mode... I have hundreds of set ups I like to vape, why am I playing with more.... Ya know? Sorry you guys are getting the earfull when I try.
I totally get that. I have some setups in wattage mode too.
I said above:
...I do suspect that many who poo poo away TC have not experienced it at it's best.
"Many" doesn't mean everybody and it doesn't mean anybody in particular. I have no doubt that there are also many who just prefer straight wattage mode. Isn't it wonderful that we have so many choices? :)

i got my clear boro. its wasn't so clear, it was frosted. so, i polished it up. this is not a serious attempt, much better could be had.

oh, what you don't see. i rounded the leading edge of the glass so it goes over the seal better.
and i also ground my notch at the top.
this is going in the Dragon Poo when its time to rewick.

Looks much better, what did you polish it with?

it does, and there is a lot left on the table. with better tools and more effort, this could be, imo, made like glass.

i have a 1hp 8" buffer, and a little buff wheel on a Dremel. if i had a little cone wheel = wow.

I'm just gonna put this on the table. Of the common TC compatible wires, 316L is the worst. It has a low TCR curve which makes it the most difficult for even good circuits to track, and which is also why it's usable in wattage too.

If you really want to experience TC at it's best, you need something with a higher TCR curve, like 430 STAINLESS or TITANIUM 1

Until you've experienced top shelf TC with a really good TC material, you haven't really given it a fair shake.

Which is not to say that anybody SHOULD give it a fair shake. If somebody's happy with wattage mode, who am I to say they're not? I'm also not attempting to portray some kind of elitist condescension toward the vast majority who prefer wattage mode. There are REAL advantages there too.

All that said, I do suspect that many who poo poo away TC have not experienced it at it's best.

Was this in DTL or MTL setups?

I never understand those that right off TC without properly trying it, it's so easy to use and setup, I ignored it in my early days but once I set my mind to trying it I was like 'is that all there is to it?' a few minutes initially when dialling in your desired vape then it's less than a minute once you are used to it.

That said one of the first things I used was TC mode when I got a BB DNA60, for MTL there was no noticeable difference using the Exocet (which almost never gets a dry hit) though I have only tried SS316L round wire, I might give it another go with the wires you mentioned, sub ohm squonking I find TC is an absolute must, much better vape, no dry hits, less power consumption, less juice waste and less issues with oversquonking but that's with sub ohm vaping.

TC was just too damn fiddly for me. I play with the wattage enough as it is haha!

I really liked Replay for the C series boards though. Hit it and if it was good you hit Replay. Done. Every now and again you'd have to reset it with environmental temp changes and such, but it was soooo easy.

You ever just get an itch to buy the most annoying dog walking flash light you can find?

I am itching to buy this

700 Yard Beam Throw LOL

or the Olight X7R

I have a few lights now, but man those evening walks or early 5am walks with one of these, surely get the attention of the half awake fucks on their way to work LOL

I'm not that good with a camera, especially a phone camera. Nothing I do will give me the shots I want :headbang: so this will have to suffice.
Got my SS internals kit and translucent boros today. I don't know if SXK has changed something or what, but these boros are a dream to work with. Glass slides up and down with ease and smooth as butter. Swapped in the black gasket and it seated to perfection on the first try. Could be just inconsistent manufacturing too.

I wish you guys could see it in person. Nothing fancy, but it look awesome. Reflections and stuff everywhere in my shots.

@gsmit1 that does look sweet. I know you said that's a clear battery wrap, but is that a silver battery? How did you do that?

Also, where did you order the face plate and switch? Did you polish them? Inquiring minds....

The can was already silver. As far as I know, they all are. I thought about polishing it some, but decided against it.

These came like that from Fasttech. They were either cast that way or were polished. MAN is the one for the button side a precise fit. I did not have to force it in, but it is going to be a bear to get back out.

I have Ti1 builds in both actually. Clearly there is a divergence of opinion and taste, as there is with many things, but I love Titanium. Ramp up is right now and it will double in resistance once heated.
I never understand those that right off TC without properly trying it,..
That's my thing too. Nobody can tell somebody they should like it if they've really tried tried it and really don't, but I've seen scads of people who throw a 316L build in something, play with it for a minute and then decide it's too complicated or in some other way not worth it.

I agree. Battery life is something I'd forgotten about. Not night and day, but there is a difference for the better.

Yeah, if you're a TC enthusiast you definitely need to pick up some of that wire. Especially Titanium, but 304 is excellent too. I'd be shocked if you're not back talking about how great it is. Not that 316L is "bad" for TC. It's just certainly not even close to the best imho.

I'm not sure about suppliers across the pond if you have to get your wire from there, but make sure your Ti1 is medical grade if you can. I have some industrial grade, which vapes fine, but is springier than an Olympic gymnast. Wadda pain to work with.

as far as i know also.
some kind of steel. galvanized ? idk. but there much be something on there.

why ?
It just made me nervous. Polishing an 18650 battery can. It was ok how it was and I didn't want to risk damaging something on the positive end. As remote as that possibly seems.

When you say "can", are you talking about the battery itself? A polished silver battery?

just put some tape over the end. what would worry me, is if it would rust. i'm thinking not with a wrap on it. but i can't say from experience. and if it did, i don't see it being a problem anyway.

Yes. I always heard Mooch refer to it as the "can" or "casing" so that's what I do. The whole outer casing or can is a live negative contact. Only the round middle part of the positive end is the live positive contact. An untended introduction of them to each other can be an enormous bummer.

guess what Bro. i happen to have a dead battery from a toy or something. i am going to try polishing it and will get back to ya.
hows that.
I'm sure it can be done and it's probably not even very dangerous. I just didn't conclude that the prospect of a little shinier battery was worth it.

Will be interested to see your results though :)

So you took a wrap OFF the battery to get an exposed metal can? Then clear wrapped it?

ok, i couldn't wait. i just dewrapped it, taped it in half. i went at it pretty good for about 1 minute in a spot. it didn't really do much of anything. so, don't bother. not saying its not possible, but its not easily possible.

Anyone looking for some mint BB I've got a Clear, RPG, and a Paua Bluebald. Authentic Xeta's and a Vapeshell. Tons of accessories. Also have a NIB Dvarw MTL.
Love this stuff but I have some problems catching up to me in a big way.
Won't be firesale pricing, but I'll do what I can. Would like to put some stuff together for people here if there's any interest instead of dealing with FaceHole flakes.

I feel for ya man. I had a curve thrown my way myself. Just in time for black Friday.

I don't have to tell you to put this in the Hardware forum too. Reddit moves some BB stuff too.

I had a pisser of a time with TC on BB, mainly because the contact between the box and the coil/bridge bottom is not 100% (condensation and such I guess) or at least that's what I think was the cause of jumping/fluctuating resistance. That's my story and I'm sticking with it:vino:

Sorry to hear. Always hate hearing stuff like that from anybody. I might be interested in the clear, never heard of that. Got a pic? Also would be interested in some accessories depending, if you are willing to break them up?

I have yet to use the BB any way, without the ohms either being off of what they should be, or jumping around a bit. Maybe it's me, idk, but where I am at, it screams wattage mode and live with the play you have. To Gs's point though, I have not yet tried better known tc wire. Btw, over 2 weeks with pretty heavy usage on the EUC ceramic coil, and still doing great. My mind is blown. I have never gotten more than a week out of a drop in with heavy use.

One day one of these guys will wise up and make a 21700 BB, with a larger boro.

The height and width change would allow a 75C board and only change the over all dimensions by no more than 7mm in height, 5mm in width and 3mm in length.

Or just change width by 5mm to allow a 21700 and height by 7mm and you get a 8ml boro

Oh yeah I left those groups as soon as they started trashing other makers and accessory groups.
The hypocrisy is strong with this Flipper.
At this point its just entertaining to claim clone when he makes his money off of someone else's ideas too

I think they're talking about FRIENDLY FLIPPER Who makes some really nice high end stuff for the BB.
Eddie has been very critical of several other accessory makers including Albert at BB Vapes (TRVP) and our own troydestroy at SSPP. Even accused them of copying his work all the while claiming he has some kind of approval from BBV. I'm not aware of him providing proof of that, though.

And then supports all the team noct stuff. Which, I know you know, but other people might not, copy's BBV's design to make translucent, ultem and wood billets. But that's ok lol /sarcasm

Yep, it's all about who can make him money and who's cutting into his sales. All the while claiming some moral high ground when he won't disclose who manufactures his products. Purely speculation, but I wouldn't be surprised if they come from China.

Nope he contracts it out. His shipments of product are almost always delayed and usually when that happens with other companies its bc their stuff gets held at customs.
Mantis Minimal used to make the tips and button sets but since he went MIA they've been made elsewhere.

Damn if they're made in China, he's gotta be making like 90% profit on every item.
