It's on my desperate need it list as soon as I can put the funds together
The 217 was on that list and now this is, primarily for the savings on comparison but if it's not as good I'll hold out for the 217.

Does anyone have an SQ Topside yet? What are your thoughts? Any tips for it? I have one coming that will be here today. I love my SQ 217 and I'm hoping the Topside will be just as good or better.
There was some discussion on this mod over on another thread this week after Vaping with Vic showed a sneak peek. You're probably the first to get it here so there'll likely be many looking forward to your thoughts on it.

Got mine today. Only had it running a couple hours but initial impression is very good. Using a Vaperz Cloud Asgard 25mm with a pair of 3x28g/36g Ni90 Aliens at 0.12 Ω and brand new Samsung 30t. I have a SQ217 and am moving the Asgard back and forth (same juice), both have a new 30t freshly charged.

1. I'd say it hits every bit as hard as the SQ217, if anything a little harder. This may be due to the TS being brand new and the silver being cleaner than my SQ217. Not much difference if any. If you've used an SQ, you know it kicks like a mule.
2. I have some concern about the battery connection system. If you've seen any videos, the pin in the 510 is pushed down onto the top (positive) pin on the battery as your screw the atomizer on the mod. It's designed to keep the battery from rattling. Th 30t has a 3 legged top and I'm a little worried about it deforming the top, however I don't see any evidence of that yet. It will fire without the atomizer screwed down all the way, but obviously doesn't look good that way. It would be possible to bend the bottom plate down a little if I see any battery damage.
3. I have large hands, so I have no problem with it, although if your hands are small you might. I posted a message the other day comparing it to several other mods I have, and it's not any bigger than several I use. When I hold the SQ217 I have 3 fingers in the grooves and my pinkie under the mod. On the TS I have all 4 fingers in the groove and it's very stable, no need (or opportunity) to use the pinkie underneath.
4. Easy to squonk fill with my thumb without have to reposition the mod in my right hand very much. It kind of rolls into my fingers, I move my pinkie under the mod and thumb squonk. Works fine so far. Should be the same if you're a lefty.
5. The color/finish seems to be more of an anodized aluminum vs. paint. Very nice finish, and the pics don't really capture the color. It's a matte finish somewhat deeper red, still red but not fire engine red. I really like it.
6. Not sure I like the safety switch; it's not in the way but initially I think it was; I had some intermittent firing where it seemed like if I pressed on the top of the button if wouldn't fire fully. Moved it 180 degrees and it's been fine and not in the way. I'm not sure I'll ever use it, and it looks like you could remove it easily.
7. Overall, quality is top notch. SQ internals, just like my SQ217. I'm not seeing any problems with the Topside squonk bottle or mechanism. Very good quality, fit, finish and materials.

YMMV. I'll update this post if/when I have more thoughts. I've only been using it a couple hours. Here's some more pics (I have a couple in the handcheck thread, so won't duplicate those here):

From what I've read the golisi batteries fit much better than the 30ts

The Golisi is a little bigger isn't it? Maybe diameter, not height? In his presentation of the TS TVC (Brian) said the 30t is the only 21700 that is exactly to spec in terms of size.

The 30t fits fine, it's the way the mod secures the battery from rattling using the 510 pin pressing down on the top of the battery as you screw on the atomizer. Any battery that is taller than the 30t will have more pressure on the top. Of course this all depends on the amount of threading on the atomizer.

This is excellent and I agree. Fortunately I didn't have any problems with my lock. My SQ 217 is by far my favorite mod but now it will have to share time with it's new Topside brother. I have a TM24 PRO on the 217 and to me it's the perfect combo. I have a Chief King on the Topside now but I have a Reckoning coming for it. I got my 217 on sale for $160 and the Topside was $145. IMHO they are both worth every penny and then some. I would say to anyone if you can get one you should. You won't be disappointed.

P.S. I'm using 30Ts in mine.

What color did you get? I've been looking for a red RDA since I ordered this; I can pick up a Reckoning locally for $20 in red and it's really close to a match, but I'm growing to really like the black Asgard on it. Asgard makes a red also, but not sure if it would match or not. Don't want to get close and not close enough. It's a beautiful red.

BTW, Hit that Juice is sold out of all colors. Not sure when he'll restock, but free shipping is a pretty good deal. Ordered mine Monday night after hours and got it today.

I got the last blue one late Sunday afternoon from Hit That Juice and got it today also. I have a blue Reckoning coming. It's sad to see Florida Vapor Supply going out of business. I never bought any mods from them but I've bought quite a few RDAs.

Nice. I debated looking for the blue but glad I got the red one. Didn't like the green, and most everything else I have is black. Wanted to liven it up a little.

Agreed on Florida Vapor, I think we're going to see a lot more of that. I ordered the red/black splatter Vital RDA along with some mech squonks and bottles from them today. Might look good on the TS.

Enjoy your SQs. Love them.

Yeah along with the Reckoning for$16 I got 5 squonk refill bottles $1 each and 10 squonk bottles $1 each. I couldn't resist. I'm regretting not picking up a squonk mod.

Re: Florida Vapor, I read somewhere that their business had seen a significant decline since it came out that everything they've ever sold was made in China.

Don't mistake my comment for implying made in China is a bad thing, just saying what I read, I believe on Reddit. Heck my Entheons and Citadel were made in China and are two of my favorite rda's. Where something is made means little to me if it's good quality, I just got the impression that he lead people to believe everything was American made for years so people didn't take too kindly to that. Again, just what I read, I'm pretty sure the drama queen Jai had a video on this topic a while back too.

Not a company I ever did business with because they would not ship to Canada.

i think grimm also did a sq topside video and says something about which battery fits best

his comment in the video descriptor That battery rattle does NOT happen with all batteries. Just wanna clear that up since I didn't really say in the video, So far those purple Samsung 21700 are the only ones that it happens with.

Thanks for the video. The battery he showed rattling is a Samsung 40t, not a 30t. I don't have a Golisi and don't know the size differences. The main issue is how long the threads are on your atomizer. Longer threads will push the pin in the 510 down farther into the battery if you want the atomizer flat on the mod. Shorter threaded atomizers may not push it far enough to keep the battery from rattling.

yeah thats the only thing sq or dovpo should release a list of dont use battery's or a spec on how long on a thread pitch on attys to avoid

Does anyone have an SQ Topside yet? What are your thoughts? Any tips for it? I have one coming that will be here today. I love my SQ 217 and I'm hoping the Topside will be just as good or better.
Hi - I received my blue Topside SQ directly from Signature Tips a couple days ago. I absolutely love it! I am a bit of a collector/borderline vape hoarder so have plenty of recently released vape toys to play with. This mod is outstanding! I’ve left one of my favorite mods (Topside Carbon) sitting since I got my SQ. I mounted one of my favorite rdas (Asmodus.Blank) in black with a 0.43 ohm 6 wrap 3.0mm ID N80 Alien build and a tall boy custom drip tip dark blue almost black with blue streaks in it. The .Blank is virtually leakproof and properly built has outstanding flavor.
The Topside SQ is such a superior squonker that I’m currently ordering another one. With the current $ to GBP exchange rate the only difference in price ordering from England was the cost of shipping... 12.50 GBP for speedy FedEx. I also bought a couple matching dark blue drip tips (one each 810 & 510). I too will miss Florida Vape Supply. I ordered a bunch of stuff including a really nice Ultem/Brass Exile parallel dual 21700 Mech Mod.. It hits like a Panzer tank!

*blank face* "Huh, how 'bout that?" Didn't "get" that, do now. :)

Your video review pitches it well. Yes, it does look to be worth the base price of $120. That aside I can also use $120 and buy 6 Coppervape mods. Ha! No, I will not let go of these affordable mechs. At least they are not the cheaply made Terminator squonk kits.

The only trouble with a Coppervape I have is dropping an aluminum one onto a hard surface can make it go out of shape. Then, since I don't have a handy metal working shop handy, I'm stuck with a deformed mod. I might propane torch and hammer one back into shape. Not sure I've the finesse needed though. Rather use a press and/or mold/jig to help ensure I get back to proper shape.

But yes, when I start raking in millions daily I will likely see about grabbing up one, or two Topside SQs. I might get there eventually too. *waves to buddies in Puzzle Palace* "Tell Mr. King I have a lovely new story idea he can steal. A writer that gets held hostage by another writer. It ends with, ... And the setting is, ... One of the themes is, ..." *steps back, watches & waits, knowingly*

I still absolutely love mine. No regrets. Great blend of SQ quality and punch with the Topside convenience. Can't lose.

I may have been overly cautious about the battery comment above. I use 30Ts exclusively in mechs and I'm not seeing any denting or deforming of the button top on the battery. I'm not worried about it.

I have a Reckoning coming for it.
Be prepared for an ulcer getting coils into that bizarre deck the first time. A great vape once you get it setup though. I grabbed a brass one from Florida Vapor Supply myself. Couldn't resist those prices.
=======================================

This does look like the practically prefect single larger cell mech squonk box, but there's no way I can spend the money on it. I just got hit with an unforeseen bill too. Not that it's overpriced.

This is actually my second one so I'm use to building on it. It can be a pain in the ass the first time. Once you figure it out it's not bad.

How does it perform in comparison to the sq 217?

Frankly I don't think there's any difference. When I first got the Topside I put the same juice in both bottles, used brand new freshly charged 30Ts, and swapped the Asgard 25mm back and forth. If there's any difference, I'm not good enough to detect it.

I don't understand. Whatsa "unicorn purchase?" :)
I've wanted an sq when the 18 came out, couldn't get the money together and gave up. Then I wanted the 217 when it dropped but same thing.

This one is a tad more reachable for me once I get done playing santa, so this mod is my unicorn.
Especially since it holds a full work days of juice

I wasn't getting where the unicorn thing came in, but me not getting things is not altogether unusual.

It hits just as hard as the 217. I can say I like my 217 better for other reasons (long story) but the Topside is nice.
I get that.. I can see the preferring the form factor of the 217 more. Ideally, I know I would; but, factoring in price, I'll be happy with the trade off of carrying more juice and easier to fill for less money.

An original 1970 Hemi Roadrunner convertible is my unicorn. Or a 1970 Hemi Cuda convertible. Maybe if I become a bazillionaire I can get both of them.

Used to have a 70 Cuda 440x6 4 speed back in the day.
Only paid $1900.00 for it in 1979.
I kick myself in the ass everyday for getting rid of it

With the looming regs coming and my moving back to the US next year, I think I need to get a couple of these. They look like they'll last for a long time with proper care. I've never used mech's before, but I suspect all my reg mods will give out sooner rather than later.

I wasn't getting where the unicorn thing came in, but me not getting things is not altogether unusual.

How often do you see unicorns? ... Many can go a lifetime and not see them. So, a unicorn purchase is a rare purchase. It would be "magical" like a unicorn. "Oh, look honey, someone sent me this product. How 'bout that?"

Update on the 510 contact with the firing bar. Not sure whether this is a design/material flaw or just the nature of the beast.

Started noticing less kick and then intermittent firing so took the mod apart and found some evidence of arcing. Easy to clean up the silver bar but more difficult on the 510 plate. Had to take it completely down to clean up the arcing and pitting on the 510 contact. Fun putting it back together but not bad once I figured out the sequence. Anyway, firing like it was new now. Didn't grab a pic after final cleaning and polishing of the 510 contact but had to use some elbow grease to get rid of the pitting. The third pic is using a flashlight to highlight the pitting in the plate.

I was under the assumption that the bar is silver (it's pretty soft and bends easily) and that's where SQ stopped and Dovpo took over. The plate seemed to have a gold coating on it that came off as I was taking out the pitting. I assume it's copper.

But we all know where "assume" can leave us.

Edit: the plate might be brass, it was fairly soft. Not smart enough to tell with certainty.
