I love Twinings English Breakfast, but I drink the caffeinated one when I’m out of coffee. It’s my favorite tea!

I haven’t had chocolate covered raisins in years. I was just looking at one on eBay, I’ll see if I can find it. People were raving about them.

Are you doing turkey? I’m getting us pumpkin pie and making chicken. My mate loves pumpkin pie, so he’ll be thrilled. :sneaky:

Yeah, I found a HUGE turkey breast last week at Kroger, they were running a great sale, instead of $3.49/lb it was $1.49/lb, so this 6.71 lb turkey breast was $10! Got the Pepperidge Farm stuffing mix, the gravy, some nice spuds, and some white cream corn to mix with the Summer Crisp corn... got the canned pumpkin and evap milk, and FINALLY found 2 of the shortbread pie crusts I prefer (over Graham, which are just BLAH -- shortbread pie crusts are GREAT!), and grabbed the very last can of Walmart's brand of "reddi-whip" to go on it -- of course we'll need another can when we get to the 2nd pumpkin pie, because anything good with whipped cream is better with MORE whipped cream! ;)

I've done the full-on thanksgiving spread since our son was a baby and we lived in Michigan, away from any family, so we make our own thanksgiving. I had wanted to have my aunt join us, but one of my cousins has a tradition of having her over on Thanksgiving day, so I told her we'd bring her some leftovers on Black Friday. :D

That Twinings English Breakfast is my own favorite, for the last 20-odd yrs, but when I started vaping and then started having to fight "cankles," I started having just one cup of the regular tea in the morning, then switching over to decaf for the rest of the day, instead of drinking 8-10 cups of regular tea thru the day. That, plus reducing sodium, and drinking coconut water fairly often, got rid of the cankles and keeps them gone. :)

The credential of "I've vaped for [how ever long] and I'm still alive and my doctor is thrilled" is a perfectly valid one. The "credential" I use most often is "Smoker39yrs, Ex-Smoker 5yrs, Vaping Advocate" -- because people need to know that 1) vaping works even for DIEHARD, MULTI-DECADE smokers, 2) it's possible for vape for YEARS without any of these so-called "vaping diseases", and 3) vapers will FIGHT BACK WITH TRUTH.

It's a neverending fight, certainly, but damn sure worth fighting!

Just had some ignorant woman comment on one of my answers, with "I hope you're kidding about vaping, if you have asthma." To which I replied, "Why would I kid? Vaping saved me from 39 yrs of horrible addiction to SMOKING. And vaping doesn’t hurt asthma. Considering that my DOCTOR is delighted that a finally found a way to quit smoking and STAY QUIT, I hardly think you need to stick your nose into my business." Then this absolute BRAIN TRUST comes back with "I am hearing about a vaping disease called popcorn lungs or something like that. Vape pens haven’t been around for 39 years. Maybe 10 or so" So, naturally I replied, "Well, no shit Sherlock about how long they’ve been around. I’ve been vaping for nearly SIX YEARS, and I don’t use a “vape pen,” I use a mod, and “popcorn lung” was one of the FIRST “straw men” to be THOROUGHLY DEBUNKED by REAL science, instead of that fake, unethical kind. You need to read something REAL, instead of biased BULLSHIT. Try this one: E-cigarette Research [the Dr Farsalinos site] — that way you won’t spew ignorance in public and make yourself look silly. But just sticking to YOUR OWN BUSINESS would also help that problem."

Speaking of Dinner Lady: I surely want to try Dinner Lady Strawberry Macaroon. I hear it's awesome.

So what'd I do today that was vape-related...? Not much. Charged-up a fresh set of 18650s for the new mod. Labelled all my 18650s so I could keep them married. With three mods and four sets of batteries it became necessary. Vaped and read and posted. That's it![/

Have to move it up in the try next line up.

Ok I’m hoping so. The internal battery is what made me question getting it. I just hope the lifelong span lasts a long time for the money. My chargers all seem to work great for my mods and pods so I shouldn’t have to worry I think. Thank you for the info. My solo has been lasting me on the same batteries for several months now
I've been using internal battery stick/tube mods for a long time. Mine are mostly Smok brand (V8s, Baby V8s, V9Max, Stick Prince) but they've all been great. None of them have ever died on me. I've used the heck out of most of them too.

Oh I forgot, I've rarely used wall plug ins when charging them. I have a micro USB cable plugged into a port thats located on a surge protector. I guess the surge protector is plugged in though lol. I just like to avoid wall adapters. Some have got hot on me in the past.

Just rewicking today

I finally had to break down and do that earlier. Usually I wuss out and just drench the wick in PG a few times, "washing out" a lot of the gunk, but the coil was looking pretty black, so I finally had to dry burn and rewick. Now it tastes great again. :D

In other news, while cooking dinner, I managed to splatter HOT!!! grease on my arm when I lost my hold on a piece of chicken and dropped it into the skillet instead of PLACING it in the skillet... all I can say is THANK GOD FOR REAL HONEST-TO-GOD ALOE!!!

BURNS.jpg
This is the worst and most painful part of it; those ones on the left are the only ones that appear to be blistering, thank god for aloe, but that one at the bottom, center of my arm, is the most painful; I got the aloe on it first, and it doesn't seem to be blistering. But the splatters go all the way around to the top of my arm, a stripe of circular splatters, the bottom-most one of which might be blistering too, but those don't hurt as bad on the top of my arm, as on that tender skin on the bottom side, on my wrist. I took half a hydrocodone, a quarter of a gabapentin, and 3 ibuprofens, ate dinner, and it doesn't hurt quite so bad now; the pills seem to be working, and the good meal helped distract me from the pain till the pills could start working. My son was kind enough to help me finish dinner, since I couldn't get my right arm near anything warm without AGONY.

Any of you that cook... keep aloe growing!!! You need the real deal, a live aloe plant; once it's been out of the plant for more than 4 hours, it's totally useless as a medicine, but fresh aloe juice/gel can prevent blistering, and also help the pain a LOT.

It's already there. Just gotta find somebody that has it in stock along with some other items I need. I like to combine items so I don't get nicked (too badly) for shipping.

I think that’s what happened to my charger. I switched it for some other ones and finally found one that didn’t run hot.

Out of three Smok Nord AIOs I had, that hot charger killed two. Or they just ran out. lol The one that lived is pretty good, though. Nice stealth device for on the street etc.

Andria, put some ice and water in a bowl and keep the burned part in it. When the ice melts, change it. I burned my arm really badly two years ago and I had tears from pain. I kept it in ice water for hours and the pain subsided and it didn’t blister or scar. Try it, please!

Neither. If it's certain spelling that gave you that idea, that's just because I think those words look more-correctly spelled in English than American :)

These are two of my monsters that we brought into the garage last week when the overnight temps went below freezing (we gave another to my aunt, and a 4th, that was smaller, we sacrificed to the god of "it's too damn cold for November in GA!").

aloe.jpg

You can see the cut frond on that one in the foreground -- HUGE frond, given the extent of the burns. And while I was out in the garage snapping these, Tommy decided he had to get into the pics:

aloeplusTommy.jpg

So I obligingly snapped his pic too, because he's just so damn cute. :D

Well, I probably would have done something along those lines, but by the time I finished eating dinner, the pills I took had started working, and the pain was nearly gone. I was careful when I did the dishes not to splash any warm water on the burns to make 'em start hurting again. A few minutes ago, I took another half hydrocodone and quarter of a gabapentin, so I will shortly be retiring with my spinning head to bed. :D Those hydrocodones are more than 5 yrs old now -- I got them when I had the appendectomy in June 2014, and took only 2-3 of them then, because the pain afterward really wasn't much, since it was laparoscopic surgery. I keep them on hand, in the fridge, just for times like this -- I normally prefer to take ibuprofen or Alleve for pretty much everything, but burns hurt bad enough to actually call for something opiate -- but I never take much at a time, because after 27 yrs of sobriety, I really don't care much for that spinning-head feeling. Aloe truly is a godsend, because even though I did notice a bit of puffy blistering starting on those few I mentioned, at this point the puffiness is pretty hard to discern... so the aloe did its job. But I bet cooking my bacon in the morning is gonna be REAL fun!

Those pain meds will do the trick. Plus, you get to drift away on a cloud for a few hours. :teehee: The cold water just seemed to make it heal better for me. But aloe is the shit for burns, too.

Can the old man cook the bacon in the morning? Or maybe nuke some bacon, so you don’t take a chance!

Sleep well if I don’t see you. I’m gonna have to recharge my tablet in a couple.

Nah, he'll be at work, probably eating lunch by the time I get up. :teehee: And nuked bacon just doesn't work for me; I like my bacon *soft* not crisp, and it's impossible to make it come out that way when you nuke it -- only when you cook it VERY SLOWLY at low heat.

I did have my whole forearm wrapped in a wet paper towel, after I coated it with aloe, and left it wrapped like that in the wet paper towel while I was eating, so I got the benefit of both aloe and cold water, PLUS the pills.

But to add insult to injury... around midnight I was petting Tuxie, as she reclined on the cat tree... and that little bitch took a swipe at me with her claws and even tried to bite me! I managed to move my arm fast enough to avoid the bite, but she sank one claw pretty deeply into my wrist -- yes, the damn RIGHT wrist! After I chased her around, screaming at her, I washed it with the Hibiclens they gave my son when his cat (Annabel) bit him back in the summer, then medicated it with hydrocortisone and neosporin. I won't be petting that feline for a WHILE!

To drag this lengthy digression back to vaping, anybody heard of the Poet RDA? One of my fellow vapers on Quora suggested that one, since I require super-tight draw... but I've tried SO MANY attys that people said were "super tight" which turned out to be NOT tight at all, or leaks, or just has no flavor, I thought I'd ask you experts. I require "gnat's ass tight draw," and super-saturated flavor, and I haven't found that in ANYTHING except the Achilles RDA that I yammer about incessantly.

Ouch! I wonder why she did that. Maybe the aloe smell, since cats have supersonic smell. :haha:

The pills are a plus when you just take them for big pain. I had a stash for emergencies from the hub’s old pain meds but I’m running out now, and I’m not going to a doctor to cajole pills out of him for possible emergencies.
When I get a killer sinus headache though, they work great. Same ones you have.

I got two flavor orders delivered, and mixed the last of a one shot I have. Really though, I have a cold and stayed bundled up indoors and vaped.

I broke out Vape Roxx’s juice, since he made me a Peppermint Cream. Peppermint gets through my stuffy nose! Plus it’s yummy.

Has anyone gotten any updates from Mrs. VR?

Hmm, they still have the tootle puffing thread there. Except it’s a fairly serious thread, in that they take the tootling seriously!

I think Rossum is on it, but I’m fairly sure he went over completely to the Dark side that is ECF, once the kids started getting sick and bans came down. I don’t really remember any other names.

Fuck ECF!
