I’m gonna say, with what you’ve got, TFA Vanilla Swirl....the duct tape of diy. It should give you that light vanilla, light custard/pudding thing you’re looking for. I think the rest are too vanilla, too custard or too thin. TFA Whipped Cream is close, but can get thick if used too high. The cheesecakes have the bakery note....and some detect a coconut note, as well.

Maybe for your next order, Caps Vanilla Whipped Cream would be a good idea. That’s probably what you really need. Or FLV Vanilla Pudding, depending which direction you wanna lean.

I’ve got TFA Vanilla Swirl. Does it taste okay on its own? I’m wary of just adding stuff together to try now, but that will prolly wear off sooner or later. Thanks.

It’s ok as a solo. Kind of like melted ice cream. I haven’t vaped it solo since I single flavor tested it ages ago. It’s just such a good mixing/melding flavor. Good for pulling together flavors.

Break it out @wildgypsy70, at 48 hours it's fantastic. I'm really looking forward to it as it steeps.

@Howard Hughes you nailed this one. Just the right amount of strawberry, the shortcake just underneath and a cream afterward. Fantastic at 2 days. A new ADV, I've been wanting a good strawberry and this is it. Nice job.
Oh I’m so excited! I’ll find a squonk and load it up!

Would it add anything to PUR Caramel Coffee with Sweet Cream? I should get some flavors tonight since I want to mix Crom’s Custard. And get some more one shots! I’ve been looking at Wayne Walker’s stuff.

There was a Red Green joke about duct tape as the handyman’s secret weapon. I’m glad I at least have the mixer’s duct tape! lol

Maybe? That’s actually not a bad idea. Give it a shot! It can’t hurt?

Thanks marter, I appreciate the kind words. While it's always satisfying mixing something you like, it REALLY feels good to know others enjoy it too, being how subjective taste can be.

I just finished my last of my test batch last night & may have to step out of my normal routine & make a little more up soon rather than wait another two months like I usually do.

@Rhianne I mixed the liquid barn white chocolate/peppermint on the 7th. I'm trying it now in a Berserker mtl 1.5 and it's great. I mixed at 8% The taste is more peppermint with a light touch of white chocolate at exhale (more sweetness noted). It is perfect for me. I'm not crazy for sweet flavors (never have been) however, this one will make the list. I don't think it will be a all day vape or anything close. Its perfect for a break in tobacco flavors for me. I plan on making up the rest to send out to bro and SIL.

I bought the white choc peppermint last night, plus some peppermint. I seem to remember LB having more flavors, but I did get a 125ml of 100mg salts and VG, at least.

I mixed this SCM today, except I don't have the FW Salted Caramel yet, so it's really just CM, since I used FA Caramel instead.

I think this is going to work well for me, but I hesitate to recommend it at these percentages to others who really love strong coffee. If I were that person, I'd use a plain espresso flavor in place of the WF Brazilian Coffee.

This is a sweet, milky/creamy caramel coffee with no bakery or maple or butter like CWC would have. It is definitely more of a beverage flavor than CWC.

View attachment 149521

Total flavoring: 12.1%

ETA: Add 1% of TFA Kettle Corn to simulate salt.

I'm vaping the Macchiato now, and it is good, and quite different from CWC. I did add 1% of TFA Kettle Corn.

Please don't get grossed out by this, but here is something we could think about:

upload_2019-11-12_11-47-45.jpeg

When I vape this juice, it hits exactly the areas on my tongue that are green in the graphic above. I don't TASTE salt as much as I FEEL it. It's like I get coffee in the "bitter" zone and some tactile kind of zing-thing in the "salty" zone. The liquid is not overly sweet, and I don't notice anything much in the "sweet" zone.

I'll have the FW Salted Caramel by the time I'm ready to mix this again. It's good like it is, but I'll see if the FW SC is an improvement. If not, I'll just continue to mix it with FA Caramel.

haha!!! Yes that will go very nice! :) :p
Thanks Artemis!!

btw... I will be coming out on my site with oneshots of my recipes on elr..
SessionsDrummer has already started a review post of them..
https://forum.e-liquid-recipes.com/t/smokyblues-one-shot-reviews/232275

If the link is not allowed for some odd reason.. do a search on smokyblues-one-shot-reviews

Im surprised I am doing this, and happy for a few to enjoy the og versions of my recipes I post.. :)

I've been away a few weeks, but just took a look at your recipe reviews by session drummer and wow! Congrats on these great reviews. I wish I had enough FLV to give your newer recipes a real sustained try, but I know from way-back-when that you're a competent and passionate mixer, so I have no doubt they are great. Bask in it.

I added some strawberry to Nickbrosia and OMG this is the perfik strawberry custard imo. It really feels like the absolute perfect ratio of strawberry to me

It would be so awesome if you and others who post screenshots of ELR recipes on here would either enlarge them or put them in a cut/paste format. I might be the only one, but I can barely even read the name to look up on ELR, and definitely not the flavor names.

(Yes, I'm working on getting glasses... this may be the real solution).

I usually enlarge the image by clicking on it. It should work even if you’re not using Tapatalk. It might be really big, but still readable!

This is the next thing I'm mixing, after work today:

Christmas Lights

Anise (INAWERA) 1.5%
Blood Orange (FW) 2%
Cherry, Black (Amarena, Cherryl) (FA) 1.5%
Cream Soda (FW) 2%
Frosting (Flavorah) 1%
Hawaiian Limeade (FW) 1%
Marshmallow (FW) 2.25%
Peppermint (TPA) 2%
Powdered Sugar (OOO) 1%
Super Sweet (Cap) 0.5%

Total 14.75%

What I'm after is a kind of holiday mixed-fruit-and-mint, hard-candy flavor with a spice backnote. A flavor that is colorful and sparkly, like Christmas lights!

ETA: A couple of small changes made to match the way I mixed this.

This is so bold--looks fantastic! I am a little behind on this thread but looking forward to hearing how it comes out.

Are you on Tappy? I’m on a mobile and I tap the image with my finger and it enlarges to full screen almost.

I’m sorry, because that would be really annoying! But Tapatalk solved a lot of the problems I had with viewing this forum.

I got a juice called Candy Cane from the Sauce LA that I really liked. I wanted to try to mix something similar. Is a Candy cane flavor made from peppermint, or a mix of mint?

The candy cane flavor I have is FW and it's definitely peppermint--but not only that. It's much sweeter and milder than a straight peppermint flavor. Extra ethyl maltol and possibly sucralose in it? A light cream? (or some kind of realsugar-type baddie is also possible, knowing Flavor West...) Super-vapable, though. Prob. some research on candy cane flavor is in order here, especially as the holidays are coming. In any case, FW CC definitely tastes just like a candy cane. Plus it's one of those rare flavors I can vape all on its own, but nice with a bit of cream, too.

I only access VU on a laptop. I tried tapatalk awhile back, but my phone is so ridiculously overloaded and just generally shite that I gave up on it. I'll consider trying it again when I get a new phone--fingers crossed it will be soon

If you aren't adverse to picking up another flavor, I'd suggest trying VT Banana Custard. It's not a 'in your face' banana or custard to my tastes. I think it's pretty good but more along the lines of a pudding than a custard which is actually totally fine with me.
Thanks that's another I'll have to keep in mind. No idea what it tastes like, but if it's close to accurate one that kind of had me intrigued was Flavor West's circus peanuts. Kind of a light sweet unobtrusive banana/marshmallow thing going on.

The thing that I had to do without using the app, was to clear the website data constantly. VU has a ton of ads and whatever running in the background and it was messing with my mobile.

That’s why I suggested Tappy. But I didn’t have enough room on my phone for the app, so I had to switch devices. The things we do for vaping! :teehee:

WAS thinking about you ...

you were saying you mom usto BOIL meat..

cuz its soooooooooooo rich or tuff.

TOUNG for example.o gosh thats good!
SO RICH.. YES i make Toung.. made properly its FANTASTIC like a jewish delli
or an irish boiled dinner.. SUCH A TUFF RICH CUT yet can be made tender by boiling..
soup bones...<--- some of my favorite stuff to work with..
Braise it first then boil and you can have some of the best PULL BEEF sand with the
richest beef stock for making other stuff like risotto or french onion soup..
chickens another one.. the list go's on n on...

would you guess i live in da country and raise my own meat...
thus NOTHING go's to waste
so i suppose ya can't get more from scratch den dat.
yet boiling meat can be a GREAT advantage with RICH or TUFF cuts of meat..
so don't limit yourself into one line of thinking..

It’s just everything my mom cooked ended up being over cooked. Meat, veg, everything. I never liked steak until the old man broiled one rare for me!

I’m jealous of your farm life. You’re lucky, Bun!

Thanks! The Christmas Lights mix is good, but the cherry and orange aren't as detectable as I'd like. I've been thinking this morning about adding either some TFA Tutti Frutti or Rainbow Drops to it. Haven't done either yet because I'm still mulling it over. Might be better to increase the Hawaiian Limeade, which also has cherry and citrus, and the lime in it might be closer to what the mix needs than more orange.

I don't want strawberry or pineapple in it, so having said that, I think I just talked myself into bumping the Hawaiian Limeade by 1%.

ETA: Well, never mind adding anything. It's right now, suddenly. I hadn't tried it today, but just did, and it doesn't need anything else. It's really good. Anise is not prominent, for those of you who are hesitant about that flavor. If you want the anise in your face, bump the percentage some.

Was reading a thread over at ELR and it piqued my interest, so I mixed this.

Forest Mix FA 10%
Sugar Daddy 6%

20/80 Pg-Vg which I always use 45/55

It was very good. I vaped the entire 10 ml in a few hours.

fa forest fruits/ mix is so yummy and blends well with so many other fruits.

A lot of FA flavors, nuts especially, but also many fruits you wouldn't expect to be dry, can feel that way to me. I found that out in a major way when I started mixing with around 75% FA flavors making up my collection! But there are a few really big exceptions and Forest is one. Also, FA Pear and Fuji of course. And others I just can't think of at the moment. Oh, White Peach never struck me as dry either and the flavor is hard to beat. I'm over my love-affair with FA, but still think so fondly of them. Plus, they've grown in the last few years and expanded their reach, IMO, with their new flavors.

Anway, I'm happy to see some love for FA. There seems to be a lot of people feeling kinda over them, but when I was starting out they provided a d, a, ap free way to mix, plus despite the shortcomings, incredibly natural tasting and accurate flavors, both of which were high priorities for me at the time.

PSA re FW Blueberry: This is a new flavor for me, and since I've been messing around with my beloved Grape Bubblegum (originally co-opted from ckemist on atf as "grape bubbilicious" & modified a bunch; see previous posts of mine on the topic), I've found that a little bit of FW Blueberry really makes the grape flavor in this bubblegum POP! It's only been about 30 hours since I mixed, and it needs a day or two more, but oh, YUM!

If you're into bubblegum vapes, MB American Bubblegum is a great way to go. It's not quite "Fleer" or "Dubble Bubble", but still a little spicier than a Bubble Yum-type flavor and adds much more character and sweetness than TFA Bubblegum, which is the only other one I've tried.

'tis not exactly the season for this kind of vape, but right now I'm loving the long-lasting coils I get from fruity-sweet (not creamy) vapes.

Below, please see the original from which I ripped this off (wasn't able to try with Cap Bubble Gum, as I don't have it) and my latest evolution which I recommend to anybody who's in the mood for a creamy-smooth-puffy and grapey bubblegum candy flavor. All the credit for the beautiful mouthfeel of this, its basic architecture, goes to the original author! It's that combo of marshmallow and vanilla swirl that makes it happen.

ORIGINAL:
BUBBILICIOUS GRAPE ckemist atf

4.5 (CAP) Bubble Gum
3.25 (TPA) Grape Juice
2.5 (TPA) Marshmallow
0.25 (TPA) Sweetener
2 (TPA) Vanilla Swirl

LATEST MODIFICATION:
Grape Bubblegum or Bubbilicious 11/12/19 30ml, 6mg, 70/30-ish (lirruping)

4 MB Bubble Gum
3 tpa Grape Juice
2 fw Grape Soda
1.5 fa marshmallow
1 fw marshmallow
2 tpa vanilla swirl
1 fw blueberry
1 tfa kiwi double
0.75 WS-23

Update re Grape Bubblegum (see above): FW Blueberry is a leetle bit stronger than I expected and as it ages I am starting to detect the blueberry flavor more. This isn't a big deal to me, and I find it enjoyable and reminiscent of Blueberry Hubba Bubba. But it might feel different to those who wish only to use it in this case (as I originally did) as an additive.

edit: also, 0.75 might be a little strong on the WS-23 for some people. I'm a new user of that and it seems a bit cooool

thanks @lirruping lol Im good to go in juice now till the end of the month..
more new recipes coming.. other things are in the works.. it's just that crazy fun time of the year for sure! :)

Im on pins and needles right now.. I sure hope they won't ban our flavors, after not hearing from anyone apparently.. found this on fb have a read:

""
The OMB (Office of Management and Budget) had hundreds of meetings scheduled with industry stakeholders in order to make informed legislation regarding flavors and the vaping industry.

Today, they cancelled ALL of those meetings and completed their review of policy without meeting with a single one of them. They only met with people who were opposed to vaping. They didn't bother to listen to a single word of reason or science.

Right now there are over 14,000 small businesses, over 160,000 employees and business owners, and over 13 million vapers in knots, waiting to hear the fate of our futures that were decided without a single word of input from them.""

I sure hope they won't ban... I hope that I can continue the flavor contests I run.. and our flavors never run out.. this whole thing has me scared.
