You are not being annoying and far from Sweetie~! Just Gravy reminds me of The Soprano's .

Ironically my in laws are from Elizabeth, basically a mobbed up town. I think it’s where the Sopranos “family” was meant to be from. Not sure, though.

There’s an Italian neighborhood there that they call The Burg. Very very Italian. Like old ladies in all black clothes, Italian ices, etc.

Sounds like my childhood. I had a few relatives that were connected or Made Men.

Those old ladies are scary! Even kids in my hub’s Boy Scout troop came from connected families in that town.
Now the church he went to as a kid (altar boy etc) is called San Miguel’s.

I went to Catholic School for my Grade School, paddles and rulers from the Nuns was expected.

Yep. He told me that half the kids in his class got pulled out of school by their parents because one of the nuns was sticking a pencil point in their heads.

My hubs taught me how to cut and roll. And to use a sheet rock bucket thingie for paint with a metal mesh thing. OK, I forgot what they’re called but I know what they’re for!
I am self taught mostly. Learned as I went. Been successfully running my own painting business for going on 6 years. I love what I do. Funny considering I went to college for computer networking...

You prolly made more with painting. My hubs learned by working for his best friend’s dad in HS. He was tough but he learned a lot of painting and carpentry. And went into computers too. Lol

I do pretty well painting. Im not rich, but my bills are paid and my wife drives a new car. I realized after almost getting my college degree, that I hate computers. Used to love messing with them. Stumbled into painting and fell in love.
My wife's family thought it was just a part time thing, or hobby. They couldn't comprehend that I can actually make a living as a self employed house painter. But somehow I do. I don't take many days off. Been working 6 and 7 day weeks since February. Finally hired an employee after years of doing it all myself. It's a lot, but it's worth it to do something I enjoy.

You’re really lucky that you’ve got a job that you like in this economy! I like painting a bit. I painted some doors and closets and got fancy using colors. But then I tried cutting on a ladder by the ceiling. Hell no! I’m scared of heights anyway! And I’m too short to reach. :ack:

Man it was good!

Giordano's is good, we have one near the house. My favorite is Lou Malnati's.

I used to love Falco's pizza years ago when visiting my grandparents
I've been to the one in Burr Ridge- also very good!

My wife took a quick flight down to Chicago recently, we live in Lansing. She went for business, went to lou malnati's, she wasn't impressed. She brought half a deep dish home, I ate it. Wasn't bad. I did like Giordano's better tho.
But all we have near us is a Klavons, "gourmet" pizza. They do a stuffed Detroit style pizza. Over priced, crappy service, and less than great food. So I'm easily impressed in some aspects.
